chocky Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 There could be white smoke from the direction of Tottenham... I understand they are signing a SECOND keeper and my mole informs me that is because 'Paul Robinson is going to Blackburn Rovers.' Don't know the Spurs signing's name...working on it. I think Robinson would be a good signing Nicko. It's just would he be second choice if Brad is staying. I have read that a bigger offer and another year on his contract is on offer. Would he accept being No. 2.?

S15 Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 Brad isn't staying. HAHAHAHA... You're jinxed sucker... What'cha gonna do??!! NOTHING!!!! Cos you're jinxed!!
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 We'll have an out of form keeper, a good left back, a promising centre back in Samba (but who looked erratic at times last season), Nelsen doesnt seem to be the player he was, god knows who we'll get in at right back, no quality whatsoever in midfield (I liked Vogel but he's not a matchwinner), hopefully one quality striker (but who's just had one very good season and has lost his main supply) and not much else. Maybe Benni will come to the party but I wouldn't count on it. We have no knowledge of Ince's transfer record and how well he'll do. We forget just how many multi million pound duds get bought as Hughes spoilt us. Boro have a great forward line (Alves and Tuncay), Downing and Aliadiére in midfield and a pretty solid defence with the likes of Wheater, Huth and Pogatetz. Newcastle have the quality to finish above us and looked pretty good after their losing run - question mark over their manager but question marks over ours too. Sunderland did pretty well in their first season back up last season and will have a lot of cash to spend again. Bolton, Fulham and Wigan - we'd hope we finish above them but as I said, there's really not that much quality in our team either. And with a new manager who knows how we'll do. Bolton have just signed Elmander, Wigan have still got Valencia...you'd hope we finish higher than them but if we have a bad start.... My thoughts exactly.
67splitscreen Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 Can you give more details... http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport...stillo_rumours/ Reading it again, I think it backs up, what you said, complicated deal.

I have read that a bigger offer and another year on his contract is on offer. Would he accept being No. 2.? The 'bigger offer' was from the reliable LET. Robinson comes - Brad goes. End of.
nicko Posted July 14, 2008 Author Posted July 14, 2008 Rovers Dampen Interest Makes me howl. Quotes the player no-one had ever heard of until the Rovers story last week...and still says 'wide of the mark.' Amateurs.
nicko Posted July 14, 2008 Author Posted July 14, 2008 Habemus Papabem, Nicko? I have never heard of him...is he a free agent?
Craigman Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 There could be white smoke from the direction of Tottenham... I understand they are signing a SECOND keeper and my mole informs me that is because 'Paul Robinson is going to Blackburn Rovers.' Don't know the Spurs signing's name...working on it. I had heard that they were signing Warner as a backup, somewhere in the papers yesterday I believe.
RibbleValleyRover Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 Does anyone think the fee for Berbatov (£28m) is a complete rip off? But if United are willing to pay it... Spurs can **** off if they think they can have both Bentley and Roque. I already have serious reservations about selling Bentley to them, but if we sold Roque as well and to them that would get me incensed. We have to keep Roque.
allrovertheworld Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 If the world had piles they would be situated in Birmingham. Your right, it is the worst city I have ever been to. Brum should be wiped of the map (is that Racist?) I expect if Brad does leave for Villa he'll stay in Cheshire and drive down for training. Can't be much further than Blackburn.
nicko Posted July 14, 2008 Author Posted July 14, 2008 I had heard that they were signing Warner as a backup, somewhere in the papers yesterday I believe. Warner is somewhere else today...

Blackburn Rovers boss Paul Ince is heading for a nightmare third-party ownership problem in his bid to sign Ecuador midfield star Segundo Castillo. Ince wants to take on the powerful South American who has played for giants Red Star Belgrade for the past two seasons - but he is owned by an obscure Second Division side in his homeland. Castillo belongs to Deportivo Del Valle, which is a club run by a group of 'European businessmen' headed by impressario Danny Walker. And they are looking for £6million for their star player.
ThatRabbitsDynamite Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 Right, here we go. Year Robinson Brad 07/08 13 13 06/07 21 17 05/06 20 19 04/05 19 18 and 07/08 Robinson only played 25 league games. and yes i am suprised that he beats brad every year, it does cover every competitive game played in that football year. I thought Brad would have been on top at least once. I didn't have time to research todays part of this thread so, i don't know if this has already been pointed out and i don't know the best place to research statistics but, these numbers provided above cannot be correct if they are indeed supposed to be cleansheets. I went to 365.com and below are "team" stats for three years. They didn't have last years of all things. Rovers Spurs 06/07 - 8 6 05/06 - 16 13 04//05 - 15 13
T4E Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 I'm guessing Modes was including cup competitions, where Robinson has likely played more games.
