RibbleValleyRover Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 so this on the bbc "Raffaele De Vita [blackburn Rovers - Livingston] Free" Anyone no if he has been released or if its a loan deal? http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/low/football/...ton/7504353.stm "Livingston have awarded permanent deals to trialists Raffaele De Vita, Jason Talbot and Giordano Vanin."
roverfanuk Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/sport/articl...to=newsnow& Hope the link works Bentley to Spurs agreed??? If it is true, it makes Ince a bonafide lier... Personally, i don't believe a word of it. I live in the South-East, and i don't believe a word of what the majority of London based media comes out with. They talk absolute rubbish far too often! Also dont miss: http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/sport/articl...illa/article.do Find it a bit suspect that they have chosen to come out with those articles, barely minutes after Ince effectively rubbished the rumours!
American Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Hmmmm, we didn't want to pay 5 million, so we paid 6......
RevidgeBlue Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Sky Sports article on Inces comments. Pretty unequivocal comments from the manager there, completely contrary to the various media reports. Will be interesting to see what happens.
rebelmswar Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Hmmmm, we didn't want to pay 5 million, so we paid 6...... Its the principle of the thing! All jokes aside, I just felt a trap door going from under me. I am sure its just a load of old tosh. Right? 6 Million!
MancVillan Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Post deleted, I'm outta here. Good luck for the future, all the best.
Eddie Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 so this on the bbc "Raffaele De Vita [blackburn Rovers - Livingston] Free" Anyone no if he has been released or if its a loan deal? Released
KoNG Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 See? There are more fishes in the sea. Just get over the old Welsh trout. Boring old goat anyway...seriously did you ever come away with even a semi after 90 minutes with Hughes? Well only a Semi with a capital 'S'. Just a little more edgy now isn't it? So now you have had a little fumble and it doesnt look too bad does it? Never shown you the defensive coach before? Nice one. Admit it... your heart is pumping because you just might get the biggest ride of your Blue n White life with this boy. Well better than the boyo every time... Dunny looked liked he'd shaved his legs for the sexy season ahead. Feisty bird on the interview is Caesar Ince. Looked like he would deck the spotted fecker from SSN if he pushed the Gay Icon issue. Who cares whether he is or isn't? Fact is his calf strain has put a little fear in the cocky cockney. Stop all this moaning about the girl next door. She's gone with the old Thai sixy tourist whose paid for it out of his pension. Fact is, for the first time it's all a bit new and people are looking at us walking in the nightclub wondering whether we are going to get involved with the big city boys like we do every season. Course we will. With attitude this time. And if anyone doesnt fancy walking in with Incey, they will no doubt get laid out in the bogs and another warrior will step up. 38 and want more cash? Fine. Because this is what we do. No money for decades when all else have. Don Mackay.....and when everyone is struggling we lash the cash. Kenny and wewalk off with the Prem. Thanks for coming. And when we're down and when a lunatic, allegedly dodgy, no track record with no money Souness is being ignored, we take him on. Go up, win the Cup and kick feck out of Burnley. Then when the money's out, the Tashtastic has gone Toonside, we take on someone who has no track record (again), no money, no first level coaching qualifications (getting warm?), no staff with any credibility (sound familiar) and totally and utterly feck off every patronising MancVilla, every sneering Gary Lineker, every (Please dont use that word again) Wenger, with our veealent behaviour. Oh, oh how i love. it. Remember they hate you and me. Our rubbish away support, our crappy boxes, our @#/? weather and our piddling live audiences for the bloated, stinking, puss seeping TV game show Super Duper Smashin Sunday bollixfest. They want us out... Sheff Weds and Utd, Wolves and Leeds, anything to add a pathetic narrative to a world wide wrestling federation infested lumpenproletariat. Disastrously, irritatingly, caustically, feckuallingly, we refuse to go....and. get this. if you are really, really, really fecked off with this block on a smooth city by city franchise run off...who would be the most irritating bloke to laugh at your 0898 corporate greed? Paul Ince. The glory. The Rovers. Again... with the random briliance...! best post in 321 pages...! or was your prior brilliance in this thread too..?? bah who cares.
philipl Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Great post by iamarover and pleased to read Ince's coments. The worry in the Standard article is two thirds down the page- Comolli has made RSC his number one target to replace Berbatov. That has to be the clue to the reason why Ince came out fighting against any deals with Spuds.
Bobby G Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Guardian says Roque has asked for a move to a bigger club...
philipl Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Guardian says Roque has asked for a move to a bigger club... This is the aforesaid Guardian scum-writing If you look at it, they are using verbatem the same interview with Paraguay TV that prompted the Sky and Setanta and others to report he was staying at Ewood yesterday. The difference is that the WHL chickens have now decided to bid for RSC so the press has changed its interpretation of the same words. Looks like war with spuds.
Mc Love Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Pure and utter boulderdash Philip, fupping sickens me!
leftfooter Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 I apologise, but he was a tad bit rude to myself. Am I not allowed to question his judgement? Your manager has just said things that put Nicko's claims into doubt. I'm simply asking if his sources could be mistaken. We all make mistakes. Happens everyday. As for the Bentley thing - seems we have put in a bid some time ago, it got rejected. By declaring it, he's letting other interested parties know that Villa have made a bid. I still believe he will end up at Spurs, but not as part of a Robbo deal. You don't have to accept as Gospel all utterances from the the Celtic oracle, but the last thing we need on this thread is another 'rival authority' who can't control his ego, and it then ends up becoming a tedious slanging match. We have enough of those already. Most come on here to sniff around, extrapolate what they can out of the the whispers from Big A and then form their own opinion. I wouldn't go on a Villa site mouthing off. Get a grip on your ego and learn some humility.
Iceman Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Loving the post from iamarover, brilliant.i must say, when hughes were here,i cant seem to remember, him ever playing the team,or a team, that ince used in the 2nd half.im glad, for 1 reason, and that is perhaps now the youngsters wil get a run, even if its 1 or 2 players, for a few games in the season.
Laurence Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Radio 5 sports news have just said that Ince has said that Villa have bid for Bentley but Ince doesn't want Paul Robinson as Friedal is not leaving...
Bobby G Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Spurs disgust me. Also there is no way Roque is worth less than Bentley for sure, and on top of that DO NOT tell me he is worth half as much as Berbatov.
Ewood and I Would Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 "When I came to Blackburn, I said I wanted to keep my best players, and Brad Friedel comes into that category. He is one of the best keepers in the Premier League. There is no interest from me in Paul Robinson. As far as I am concerned, I want to keep Brad. I do not want to sell Brad, so why should I want Paul Robinson? " Paul Ince Writes off the Robinson rumour and Brad going "scoop" in one paragraph. Nicko are you sure you don't want to back down a little here? We all get things wrong from time to time and unless you are calling Ince a liar, or that there are forces above him that pulling the strings which sounds more like Chelsea than Rovers it may be time to check your sources.. The important bit's underlined now - the story is as it has been said over the last few days. Ince does not WANT to sell Brad. As long as he has Brad, he has no interest in Robinson. If Brad should put up Lerner plates and move to Villa, then there is a reason for him to want Robinson. As far as I recall, that's what nicko's said since this started. I don't think many people here actively want Brad to go, so we're hoping that nicko's wrong. But gloating about it seems rather... silly Edit: rather, the language in the sentence suggests that that is the case. Also, I got the underlining wrong first time First of all I'm not gloating, far from it and I don't like the way that if anyone questions nicko on here they get labbled a troublemaker, WUM or having an ego. I have been following this thread since his Maceo Rigters scoop and if anything most of my mates take the mick out of me for doing so to which I defend the guy! However, I also find nicko very defensive and overly offended if you dare to question one of his stories no matter how nicely you may state your case. I realise we have had trouble on here with people who want to see him slip up and only come here to cause trouble but we also have people here who take what he says as Gospel and will jump on anyone making any statement that might contradict the guy, I like to think I'm pretty balanaced. Nicko himself slates other journos and newspapers regulary and yet expects us to take everything he says as absolute truth. Anyone reading Ince's comments and saying they are aligned with what nicko has said over the last two days is being very economical with Ince's statement. IF Brad does go and nicko is right then I would consider Ince a liar, especially if the deal goes through in the next few days as predicted. I would consider the underlined bit a direct contradiction. Nicko said that "all parties would be happy with the deal" so how does that tie up with "I don't want to sell Brad"? If we're benefitting from the sale and the club views it as good for us then I can't see Ince coming out with such a direct quote, a simple "I don't want to talk about this right now" would have done. Also, if I was Paul Robinson would those comments seem inviting to you? He has basically admitted that Robinson isn't a patch on Friedel...
T4E Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 My goodness you are! It's great clicking back through your posts - they're all 110% bullsh!t. Yes or No for you - IS INCE A BARE FACED LIAR??? No, obviously he's telling the truth. Why would be lie? Unless of course it's been pointed out to him that he's on the cusp of a PR disaster before he's even named a competitive 11. We'll find out in the coming days wont we? Although i'm sure you'll find a way to cover your arse. How ironic is that?!
Paul Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 I do not believe he was rude but maybe you took it as though it was - it happens. You have come onto a Blackburn Rovers supporters forum and although welcome -you were not invited to do so - and as this is a Rovers forum you will always encounter posts - posters - that you will find offensive because of your own natural baias to your own club -town etc. As would we if we went onto say a villa forum and read what others were saying about Rovers - bully boys etc. I am not in the media in anyway -therefore those who work in that area I listen to the imformation they publish. sometimes it is correct - sometime not. Life chanegs for all of us when we least expect it- therefore so do stories. How many times have we all made plans to do this and that and instead something else comes up and everything changes? Is football - footballers -clubs any different - I suggest not. Nicko gives us information he has heard and choses to share - we may not like it - agree with it - but at the end of the day he is doing his job and often has to with hold things because of his job - after all he is earning a living as a sports writer.. To you and all on this forum we must understand that he cannot always go into detail on information received. He has a duty to those who employ him - a duty to those he receives imfo from and has still chosen to come on to this site and do what he does. Of course you can question him - as well as anybody else - but at least do so in a respectfull manner. - that does not just appy to you but to all of us on this forum. Failure to do so takes away the fun and the interest of coming onto this forum in thie first place. Hook, line and sinker
Martin Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Paul Ince: "There is no interest from me in Paul Robinson. As far as I am concerned, I want to keep Brad. I do not want to sell Brad, so why should I want Paul Robinson?" If Ince goes on to sell Friedel and sign Robinson after saying that he's an idiot. At least in the near future.
nicko Posted July 15, 2008 Author Posted July 15, 2008 A lot of bluffing and counter bluffing going on at the moment. Rovers are willing to sell Bent for £17 million. Rovers are willing to sell Brad for £2.5 mill as long as they get Robinson for £4 million. Issues, Spurs want more than £4 million for Robinson. Spurs and Villa offering less than £17 million for Bent. Brad not going anywhere without Robinson!!- Am I close Nicko? Absolutely. When I see someone grasp what is actually going on it makes me feel rather pleased.
nicko Posted July 15, 2008 Author Posted July 15, 2008 Let's walk through this... The Aston Villa 'bid' is the old inquiry at around £10 million. Apart from the fact that it is an insult I don't think it even stands up any more as Bentley's 'people' have told Villa they don't want to go. Strictly speaking it is the only 'bid' at the moment - because Spurs are doing their usual going round the houses routine. Rovers want the money for Bentley and would like to do a deal for Robinson. He IS the manager's first choice as a replacement for Brad Friedel. I understand there is a stand-off between Rovers and Spurs over valuations. Not a surprise. Villa want Brad and will pay him the deal to make it happen. The only hold-up is Rovers signing a replacement...see above, So until Rovers and Spurs sort this out we will all have to hold our breath. Villa want Brad before the weekend as they need him to play against Odense in the UEFA Cup...so that might give the thing some urgency. Transferring one a player is often hard, transferring two in a swap is difficult, transferring three in a 'chain' is even tougher. Let them get on with it. And for the 'in denial' mob, check these out: http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/footbal...tov-867703.html http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/foo...icle4333952.ece As for the level of info...pretty good I would have said.
