Ewood and I Would Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 I thought Ince and big bad Brad got on like a house on fire? Didn't Ince say that the first person he'd ask about the club was Brad? Yes but unfortunately most on here trust nicko's words over the offcial ones.
thenodrog Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Does anyone remember the protests down at newcastle when keegan sold cole? Maybe we should do the same if and when freidal goes. I remember that Newcastle got the worst of the deal, they lost momentum to their rivals on their up until then steep upward curve. Cole was on fire and Gillespie was just Gillespie. Sure they ended up with Shearer eventually... not immedietely and the sale at that time did not do em any favours imo.
modes98 Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 http://www.glory-glory.co.uk/forums/2/384577/ShowThread.aspx i was told by a spurs mate of mine, that this message board has a mate of bentleys on there..... his user name is 'mams' and finally, yeah he would be up for playing for us, but we aint the only team he would play for, at the end of the day we are a bigger club than blackburn and in europe. That will help us a lot in his final choice of who to join. hey? Where did they finish in the league last season
RevidgeBlue Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 if you are right then I consider Ince comments at best a lie and at worst a PR disaster. Absolute tosh. Ince has merely said he WANTS to keep his best players. Whether or not that happens or it is possible to do that is a different matter entirely, but it's ridiculous to call him a liar.
RibbleValleyRover Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 If we are going to buy Castillo we have to get 100% full ownership.
EwoodGlory Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Just been reading a thread on bigsoccer.com that claims that Juventus really wanted Castillo last year but there were complications... over his ownership i assume? He must have something about him if Juventus have been looking at him for over a year. They should be out of the race for him now, they signed Poulsen from Sevilla yesterday. He plays the same position I as Castillo I think.
Atomicrover Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 I don't know yet. I do recall the Damien Duff interlude when he went through customs and came out again after Chelsea reached the magic figure. Who broke that story again? Yeah, I remember....I was on holiday in Florida at the time and you spoilt it.................
thenodrog Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 On the same token; flying back from Germany is a little easier than coming back from Washington D.C. I've a few elderly relatives who would have disagreed with you on that statement.
nicko Posted July 15, 2008 Author Posted July 15, 2008 Yeah, I remember....I was on holiday in Florida at the time and you spoilt it................. No, I think that was Roman Abramovich.
Atomicrover Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Whatever happenrd with the compatriot of Roque from Paraguay, Nelson Cuevas was it ?
nicko Posted July 15, 2008 Author Posted July 15, 2008 Whatever happenrd with the compatriot of Roque from Paraguay, Nelson Cuevas was it ? I don't think he is fully fit...which means it was a good job that Rovers let him 'prove' that before doing anything.
Mr Creosote Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 I don't know yet. I do recall the Damien Duff interlude when he went through customs and came out again after Chelsea reached the magic figure. Who broke that story again? Oh cheers. Worse than the bleeding Postman for delivering bad news you are.
nicko Posted July 15, 2008 Author Posted July 15, 2008 Just a small example of how quickly or slowly transfers take in the summer. About three weeks ago I wrote that Hull were trying to buy Halmosi from Plymouth. Since then there have been denials, bids, messing about, etc. Now today he finally signs. That's how fast things go at this time of year. Frustrating, but fact.
nicko Posted July 15, 2008 Author Posted July 15, 2008 Oh cheers. Worse than the bleeding Postman for delivering bad news you are. Not all bad news. I could list the Rovers signings scoops at this stage. But you don't have enough space...
modes98 Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 If we are going to buy Castillo we have to get 100% full ownership. Why West Ham didn't bother and they didn't get much of a punishment, just a few million bob. I doubt we would bother with a transfer unless we could get ownership.
QOTSA Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 The Setanta story bears a striking resemblance to things that came out here last night... For anyone interested in reading something truly original, Castillo's agent says we're playing Uefa Cup football next season... http://www.elcomercio.com/noticiaEC.asp?id...mp;id_seccion=9
1&OnlyRover Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 any news on any potential incmoings or targets yet nicko, im eager to here which right winger ince has got lined up if bentelys deal to spuds goes through
EwoodGlory Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Whatever happenrd with the compatriot of Roque from Paraguay, Nelson Cuevas was it ? Left Libertad this month to join Santos in Brazil.
nicko Posted July 15, 2008 Author Posted July 15, 2008 For anyone interested in reading something truly original, Castillo's agent says we're playing Uefa Cup football next season... http://www.elcomercio.com/noticiaEC.asp?id...mp;id_seccion=9 Interesting. What is the 30 per cent thing about?
Ewood and I Would Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Absolute tosh. Ince has merely said he WANTS to keep his best players. Whether or not that happens or it is possible to do that is a different matter entirely, but it's ridiculous to call him a liar. Pull your herad out of the sand (or should I say nicko's behind), let me remind you again... "There is no interest from me in Paul Robinson. As far as I am concerned, I want to keep Brad. I do not want to sell Brad, so why should I want Paul Robinson?" At the very least you can't deny that he is lying with "There is no interest from me in Paul Robinson" if nicko is correct.
RibbleValleyRover Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Why West Ham didn't bother and they didn't get much of a punishment, just a few million bob. I can guarantee you if we did something similar to West Ham we would get punished far more severely. Its clear the FA don't particularly like us, with is clearly evident with their refs going over the top with their yellow cards against us. Then there was the farce over the fine we recieved against Newcastle...
nicko Posted July 15, 2008 Author Posted July 15, 2008 any news on any potential incmoings or targets yet nicko, im eager to here which right winger ince has got lined up if bentelys deal to spuds goes through Castillo...certainly thinks he is coming...but that will take a bit of sorting out...there is another midfielder who will be watched shortly. No name on that for the time being. Osorio...on the watch list - very soon. I can't name the right winger, but the Pennant 'interest' suggests there may be problems with that better one. And a goalkeeper.
