brian_gallagher85 Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Off topic about what is being discussed, could anybody indicate what Sir Bobby Robson is doing these days? His health problems over the last year or so, coupled with his job as Stans assistant have forced him to more or less retire

Wiggy Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Where did you hear this? On the car radio...I'm sure it was 5 Live. The article did mention him wanting to take a break though, so I wouldn't read too much into it. Teletext is now saying that Croatia's players are pleading with him to stay...can we dream?
Fife Rover Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 That started yesterday with Lewis dissing us big time! Poor writer with a weak or lazy editor. get this shyte..... Ince, 37, said: "I want to be at a club where I have a three or four-year plan. Not a year here, year there, year here. That's not how I want to operate. Kinell eh? What absolute ######! He was just 8 months at Macclesfield before moving to MK Dons just 12 months ago. Two clubs that he has left in just 18 months! Just how thick do they think we are? And some people seem worried that Laudrup might want to move on before his contracts up! You're not thinking things through properly Theno.
TugaysMarlboro Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Off topic about what is being discussed, could anybody indicate what Sir Bobby Robson is doing these days? Funnily enough Iceman my dad said the same to me earlier on this week, and pretty much said he'd be decent with a young manager to direct. Then again the next name to come from his mouth was Terry Venebales! Anyway I don't think Sir Bobby is doing much to be honest, he was at the England v New Zealand ODI recently.
Iceman Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Is there any chance that if Ince gets the job, that his assistant could be O'Leary?im not sure he would want to be an assistant, and im not sure what he is doing either these days.its a daft suggestion i know.
wisweller Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Off topic about what is being discussed, could anybody indicate what Sir Bobby Robson is doing these days Saw him at the England NZ cricket at Chesterly Street earlier in the week. Considering his illnesses he looked pretty good
92er Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 nicko, or anyone else for that matter. Do we know if Ince is a fan of the Pro Zone that MH was so fond of and how high on players fitness levels is he? Is he a fanatic in the Hughes mold or a five a sider a la Mr Souness? A very keen Rovers' supporter was speculating with me yesterday whether PI would know anything about it. He feared a return to the "older" managerial style of Souness.

I think O'Leary is still interested in being a manager somewhere, I think Nicko said somewhere on one of his previous threads that O'Leary had applied for our job. Imagine that....or don't you brain may well burn.
brian_gallagher85 Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 I believe that Nicko said in one of his previous threads that O'Dreary didn't make the final shortlist so can't see it happening ....also he's a tit
Iceman Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Would love to know, what difference it make to announce Ince now,or Monday.unless there are other issues being sorted out,im just stil baffled at this delay.
nicko Posted June 21, 2008 Author Posted June 21, 2008 Nicko all sorts on our managerial front??? I hear - no more - that someone else is being considered apart from Ince. This guy is very expensive but there have been talks with him over the past 24 hours...but I don't know who it is. There are also things developping behind the scenes on the takeover side, but I don't know the significance of this. So it's a bit of a melting pot. I'm not sure why Rovers have not announced Ince after getting approval to name him...I know they are slow but this is ridiculous.

Iceman Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 I wonder what fans would think,if a certain Macca is Inces assistant.ex Pool team mates together again.
Plastic Head Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Bentley will cost £15 million possibly plus...and he says he wants Champions League football...so I still don't know who fits that bill apart from Liverpool. Liverpool don't fit the bill either...they are not in the Champions League currently.

Strange things happening with Croatia at the moment.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Macca has gone to FC Twente. Nicko, would you not suppose the delay is because of the other person being considered? I have a feeling it is Bilic but I can't back it up in any way.
philipl Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 JW and the Board will be very focussed on doing the absolute best for Rovers. I am sure those Mirror articles are doing Ince untold damage with at least one Rovers Board member. David Brown is a sufficiently successful businessman that he will know exactly how to look at the situation how it is right now. If Bilic or Mr X is suddenly available, if Laudrup/agent has done a very convincing job of un-doing any previous damage done, if for that matter ten Cate and folk have grown enough balls to sort out Chelski.... A lot can and will have happened since Wednesday evening and the Rovers board comprises a number of individuals who have the clarity and precision of mind to take all these changing circumstances into account. Remember, until the players come back, there is no particular rush. We were never going to be in the initial transfer merry go round when it starts and every other club knows there is a comnplete lockdown at BRFC until the new man takes up his post. If there is no unveiling on Monday, I will take it as a very positive sign. We have another ten days to go before we will have been managerless as long as Chelsea were and they didn't have their old boss pinched!

Probably thinks Blackburn is full of white working class.
Presty On Tour Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 If Bilic wants a break, he can have a kitkat
philipl Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Incidentally, nobody on this MB has given a hoot to the fans of MK Dons, Twente or Panathanaikos all sweating on what the Rovers Board may or may not decide.
Saf Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 is it advorcat by any chance, someone said before he was vey expensive manager
