Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Advocaat could be the one actually, he is supposedly on huge wages. I doubt Nicko will tell us anyway because it is only hearsay and nothing he can put some weight behind.

brian_gallagher85 Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Incidentally, nobody on this MB has given a hoot to the fans of MK Dons, Twente or Panathanaikos all sweating on what the Rovers Board may or may not decide. ...like the City and Newcastle give a crap about us in the past We have a certain amount of power in the world of football at the moment...I'm actually enjoying it
Wiggy Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 JW and the Board will be very focussed on doing the absolute best for Rovers. I am sure those Mirror articles are doing Ince untold damage with at least one Rovers Board member. David Brown is a sufficiently successful businessman that he will know exactly how to look at the situation how it is right now. If Bilic or Mr X is suddenly available, if Laudrup/agent has done a very convincing job of un-doing any previous damage done, if for that matter ten Cate and folk have grown enough balls to sort out Chelski.... Oh the irony, if the pleb Darren Lewis has written his mate out of the job. The article has not gone down well in these parts. Monday's back page in the rag will be' IT WAS THE MIRROR WOT DONE IT!'

Saf Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 nicko, why ar rovers speaking to another candidate, surely they were putting all the stops to get ince in the first place, though im intrigues to know who this expencisve coach is, must be good to hve turned JW eye
Saf Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 http://www.teamtalk.com/football/story/0,1...3719048,00.html a lugh or wht, why wud we be monitoring him when we dont even a manager in place

Then you will be pleasantly surprised if it is earlier. Unlike you I want the very best man in the highest paid managerial job in Lancashire.
incy wincy little spider Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 http://www.teamtalk.com/football/story/0,1...3719048,00.html a lugh or wht, why wud we be monitoring him when we dont even a manager in place Yeah i never understand why manager-less clubs get linked to players. Looks like i may need to change my name if theres a late twist . Exciting though

Plastic Head Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Incidentally, nobody on this MB has given a hoot to the fans of MK Dons, Twente or Panathanaikos all sweating on what the Rovers Board may or may not decide. Feel free to pass on our regards Philip....
RevidgeBlue Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Thank you USA. Politics?.....Haven't time cos I'm always pratting about on here. Must say if Ince takes charge i'll either try doing politics Sat afternoons or try playing some golf. Good grief, Gordon! After all you said to gumboots! Got to say I feel your criticism of Ince is completely irrational and without real foundation.
nicko Posted June 21, 2008 Author Posted June 21, 2008 I will pass on what I know about 9pm tonight...it might have changed by then. However some things have happened that need explaining and I am trying to get to the bottom of it. All I can say right now is that it is not as straightfoward as it should have been. But that only takes a phone call...
Wiggy Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 It's inconceivable that JW has not at least rung Slaven Bilic over the past two weeks, last night's result may well have changed things. Unconfirmed reports from Austria that he has resigned and talked about managing in England.Something's blowing in the wind.....and his odds are tumbling on Betfair.

Anyone else noticed that the Turkish manager comprehensively out-thought, out-psyched and tactically out-played the Croats? It was a brilliant demonstration of the art of sporting management in the red corner.

Bobby G Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 This is absolutely weird!!! What in the blue and white hell is going on? Although, if the board are talking to someone this late in the game, it doesnt fill me with confidence if they eventually choose Ince. I mean the fact is twice now the board have talked/considered others after Ince had been seemingly a dead-cert. Also, on a sidenote, Bilic cannot be that expensive, definitely not more than Laudrup, especially since he is managing Croatia for free right now!

If it takes a few more days or even more interviews then so be it. If Mr X turns out to be Dick Advocaat, I will be elated. I will be out on the town at 10 tonight folks, so by the time my drink addled, beer and curry filled body makes it back home at around 4am I wont be fit to read whatever has been written until late Sunday. I am now gonna have a power nap, sh**, shwer and shave and am going to enjoy my night out with the wife.
RevidgeBlue Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 I have a real hatred for this Darren Lewis. Fcuking complete twit in my eyes. He will hope i never meet him face to face. His first Mirror article was a bit of a shocker, but I didn't see too much wrong with the second one, in fact it was rather good, apart from the assumption that we WILL lose RSC and Bentley.

He's already done the damage Rev and probably knows it. The second article doesn't get him out of the do do.
RevidgeBlue Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 He's already done the damage Rev and probably knows it. The second article doesn't get him out of the do do. Is that Ince's fault though? Either he's the best man for the job or he isn't regardless of what his trigger happy mate has written.
Wiggy Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Is that Ince's fault though? Either he's the best man for the job or he isn't regardless of what his trigger happy mate has written. Well that's the big question. He is said to be a tame journalist for Paul Ince. It's just very unfortunate that the article is very reminiscent of Ince's previous comments about BRFC. There is a chance that he may be the best man for the job but I can't for the life of me see qualities that make him so. There are big doubts in the boardroom too..otherwise there would have been an announcement already. Personally I think we might just be heading for a very lucky ( and exciting) escape.

It was a brilliant demonstration of the art of sporting management in the red corner. Yes I noted that too. It was all one way traffic CM, I'll give you that, but the main thing in football is the winning. Despite being outplayed (but not out classed) over the 90mins the Turks went into the first half of extra time level and finished it having totally dominated a Croat team that should have been much much fresher. The never say die attitude that he has installed in that team is brilliant and showed that this can go along way in overcoming a higher calibre opponent
