Bilic, facing the media TODAY refused to be drawn on whether he would stay on as Croatia manager or return to club football. "The elimination is still too close, it's not the moment to make crucial decisions."

and that's just stupid.

The board are the only ones who are actually in contact and discussion with the candidates.

Its only them who know how every candidate appear and what is being said.

i didnt say me! thats whats happening, read back over the last tonne of pages and i think the average person is dissillousioned with the fact that ince is the number 1 choice.

I don't believe JW is convinced.

He could have named Ince a week ago if he wanted and then done all the formalities. There was never a chance he'd be rejected by the Premier League.

We obviously aren't desperate to have him are we.

Radio Lancs has just reported that Paul Ince moved a step closer to being named Blackburn boss after the Premier League gave the club dispensation over his failure to hold a Uefa Pro Licence.

I must ahve something in common with gumboots after all  . Dont worry she's quite rightly already been on to remind me. :) Thing is her hatred of Sam was irrational whilst mine is far more rational. I have a long memory of his career antics. As a player he was the biggest and most obnoxious smacked arse in the Prem. A hateful character who gave plenty of punishment out but couldnt take it when it came the other way. Childish and petulant describes him to a tee and those are not characteristics that I associate with a successful man manager. Its not all that long ago so I shouldn't need to remind people. Compare his on field demeanour with that of his team mates Hughes, Giggs and Scholes..... Proper footballers and proper men as an ex manager once said.

And can I just say that I never denied the irrational nature of my loathing. Nor did I ever suggest I was right to feel it. With Ince though I do feel youre judging him on his youth and there are few who could say they didn't make a mess of a few things in their youth. When I told a friend I was planning on being an obnoxious old lady and living a long time to drive my kids crackers, he said "I didn't know you were that old already". Most people deserve a second chance.

I'm still waiting for Radio Lancs to break the news that we've sold Shearer.

Sorry to waste 2 seconds of your life. As reported this morning not all the premiership chairmen had responded until this afternoon!

Premier League gave the all-clear after their ring-around...but that was yesterday afternoon.

Meanwhile...we still wait on Rovers.

Sorry only just heard it at 6pm, and they didn't mention it at 4 or 5. Blast you Radio Lancs with your second rate reporting!

Its just proves that football is a funny old game and that nobody really knows the hell is going on right now. People’s views can change over the course of 24 hours and there are so many twists and turns in this sport.

Williams must have some doubts about Ince otherwise he would have been appointed by now. Unless Ince wasn’t the main candidate after all and the whole dispensation was explored just in case they used Ince as the backup candidate.

Maybe JW is waiting on tonight's European manager casualty!

Theno. Mr Roversmum is exactly in agreement with your synopsis of Ince. I've had endless ear-ache about it for days now. :(

To be honest, it has entirely the wrong effect on me and I'm thinking the fellow can't be that bad.....................

I do have slight fears that the "race card" might be played if we don't pick Ince now, after the general media consensus was that he is a dead cert for the job. You only have to look at articles made by his friend Darren Lewis and some articles by the Times that keep harping on about Ince becoming the “first British black manager” in the premier league.

Most people with common sense and a level of intelligence know you pick the best person for the job, the colour of someone’s skin shouldn’t factor. I can just see however some derogatory comments coming our way by some in the media if Ince doesn't end up our manager.

It's entirely possible that the belligerant and insulting (PI originated?) Mirror article provoked the same emotions within the boardroom that it did on here.

I think the fact that we've about half a dozen blacks in the squad puts any such suggestions firmly to bed.

As I backed Russia to win it you can take it I will be counting on Hiddink's Heroes.

Arshavin wants to leave, by the way...

If only!

As a matter of interest, on the Blackburn Rovers F.C. - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia it says that Rovers manager IS Paul Ince. Do they know soemthing the rest of us do not know. Or can we take comfort that not all encyclopedias are correct.

Please let Bilic be unveiled as our new manager. Would be absolutely quality, has been my number one choice since Hughes left, what our the chances though? Eff all me thinks.

Never know though, there has to be some reason why theres a delay.

Its quite funny and it shows how much of a rollercoaster and ever changing saga this whole process has been.

My first choices were Laudrup and Billic. Laudrup was more of my favourite choice because Billic had signed a contract extension with Croatia until 2010.

When it looked like neither were in the running i saw Ten Cate as the best candidate on the list.

Then it looked like Ten Cate was out of it so i went with Ince over BFS and McClaren. I wasn't 100% sure of Ince, either he could be a success or a failure, but i favoured him over BFS and McClaren.

It started looking like Ince was a 100% dead cert so i was starting to think about future transfers, expectations for the new season.

But now i don't know what to think
