PAFELL Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Its quite funny and it shows how much of a rollercoaster and ever changing saga this whole process has been. My first choices were Laudrup and Billic. Laudrup was more of my favourite choice because Billic had signed a contract extension with Croatia until 2010. When it looked like neither were in the running i saw Ten Cate as the best candidate on the list. Then it looked like Ten Cate was out of it so i went with Ince over BFS and McClaren. I wasn't 100% sure of Ince, either he could be a success or a failure, but i favoured him over BFS and McClaren. It started looking like Ince was a 100% dead cert so i was starting to think about future transfers, expectations for the new season. But now i don't know what to think Maybe the delay is compensation to MKD if an approach has been made. But to my knowledge I haven't heard that MKD's have given Rovers permission to even talk to Ince, though it appears he has been spoken too. So there could be a money discussion going on and in the meantime other people, maybe from those invloved in Euro 2008 are interested in the job, because they are leaving there current positions, hence JW looking at the possibleities.
BRFC1995 Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 don't want a manager that wears earings...just wrong. Get ince in and lets move onto transfers!

I hope we don't have to wait that long.
RibbleValleyRover Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 What i found interesting in regards to Billic was an interview a Croatia press person gave to either ITV or BBC (can't remember). The person said something along the lines of if Billic was to manage England he reckoned it wouldn't be to one of these huge clubs. His reasoning behind this belief was that Billic likes a small team of invididuals, one where he can focus and build on a team spirit, group work ethic and a team that is hard working. The guy could have been far from the truth, but if his impressions of Billic are correct its very interesting as i think we would fit this criteria.
PAFELL Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 I hope we don't have to wait that long. Thanks Nicko, I hit the wrong key -it now has been duly edited.
nicko Posted June 21, 2008 Author Posted June 21, 2008 A point on Bilic... Rovers could surely not have seen Croatia's exit coming on Friday night, so the excitement about him today is probably false. I DO think something strange is going on today, but I can't believe they lined up Bilic so quickly. It doesn't happen that way. I'm not saying it's not a good idea, but it doesn't fit with what has happened in the past few days. Only one thing does - and that's Ince - but the final piece of that jigsaw is not in place.
RibbleValleyRover Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Nicko do you reckon this whole saga might drag on past Monday? Surely if it does go past Monday, Ince's appointment isn't 100% set in stone.

yoda Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 As a matter of interest, on the Blackburn Rovers F.C. - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia it says that Rovers manager IS Paul Ince. Do they know soemthing the rest of us do not know. Or can we take comfort that not all encyclopedias are correct. what makes you think a Wikipedia is like an encyclopedia?

Well Pafell, I just changed it then, putting the managers job as "vacant" however it was changed back to Paul Ince and I was sent a message saying i edited it with "incorrect information".....

PAFELL Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 what makes you think a Wikipedia is like an encyclopedia? Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia that is how it is written on various search engines, such as google. Therefore I have to say that somebody else called wikipedia an encyclopedia. Incidently I copied the words 'wikipedia, the free encyclodedia from google - so ask them to explain the reason why.

Wiki is an encyclopedia, but it is one that pretty much anyone can edit, so you just gotta be careful what you read on it And whilst we're on the subject of Wikipedia, we have our very own version on this site http://www.brfcs.com/wiki which everyone is more than welcome to contribute to if they wish
PAFELL Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 And a Danish, and English one....just to spice things up. Should have put up a white one with the words 'we surrender end the torture NOW. lets us know who the manager is'.

Mike Graham Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 what an exciting time to be a Rovers fan I'm worried that we will have the inevitable let down and finish with an "old soak" as manager: some one like the red nosed Howard Kendall. note: Bilic has just moved from nines to tens on Betfair.
streakyb Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 encyclopedia contain facts veryfied as such, wikipedia don't An encyclopedia is: 1. a book or set of books containing articles on various topics, usually in alphabetical arrangement, covering all branches of knowledge or, less commonly, all aspects of one subject. So the reason why Wikipedia is not a encyclopedia is not content related but the fact it is not a book or books. A lot of wikpedia does contain verified facts, hence the reference section at the bottom of the article. Is is actually very reliable as long as you dont use it for popular things such as people, clubs etc and more for things such as an explanation on fluid flow.
Iceman Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Has BFS kidnapped JW,and demanded that he offer him the job.JW has gone missing!
