Bobby G Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 BBC is saying Bilic says he was close to quitting last night but has decided to stay on at Croatia... Hmm, this is weird, if its true that Nicko believes we are talking to an expensive coach right now. Who could it be!? :s Also, did anyone hear what Martin Tyler said by their own ears?
Bobby G Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Its on BBC on the net... Basically that he considered quitting football after the game, but he wont leave the players now and they will be back stronger than before...
imy9 Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 I think it is Advocaat and it may be because Arshavin (his best player) has decided to leave, perhaps? Big contract, big coup for us (a little old though!)
AJW Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 hi guys . anything exciting happened today ( dont wanna spend 1/2 hour trawling previous 20 pages)
Hasta Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 hi guys . anything exciting happened today ( dont wanna spend 1/2 hour trawling previous 20 pages) It was Ince. Then it was Bilic. Now it might be Big Dick. Seriously - not much. Still waiting for news.
S15 Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Who's pulled Big Dick out? Is that just spectulation, or has anyone seen it? Not a Red Top I hope.

Hasta Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 As a tip for everyone, if you've not been on the thread all day and want to only catch up on what Nicko has said then go to one of his posts, click on his name and choose' find members posts'. That was you just get a list of all his posts. Don't do it too quick when opening the thread though as you'll get the flood control warning.
Hasta Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Who's pulled Big Dick out? Is that just spectulation, or has anyone seen it? Not a Red Top I hope. Nah just pure speculation by imy above. I'd be quids in if it was though.
nicko Posted June 21, 2008 Author Posted June 21, 2008 Patience is a virtue...w2hich I haven't got. This is where the boss chase story stands. The story may be overtaken with a phone call at any time - an option I do not dismiss. But this is what I know from a strange day. Do us a turn and buy the People tomorrow anyway...there are a few more good stories in there too. But for now... Blackburn Rovers have been told to offer the manager's job to Paul Ince - or leave him alone - by MK Dons supremo Pete Winkelman.[/size] Rovers have made contact with the League One outfit for their young boss, but astonishingly they only want to speak to him and have NOT offered him the post yet. Winkelman won't let Ince go for talks unless he is definitely leaving. He does not want his in-demand manager to be overlooked and undermine his position at MK Dons. People Sport understands that Ince has already spoken unofficially to Rovers who were impressed by him and he emerged as the leading candidate after a round of interviews with rivals. Rovers have also spoken to the Premier League about Ince's lack of qualifications but they are now clear to appoint him. However there have been twists and turns behind the scenes at Ewood Park. In the past few days other names have been put to Rovers, including Michael Luadrup, and there is also a lobby to move for Croatia boss Slaven Bilic. Both have sexier names and better CVs than up-and-coming Ince and Blackburn are trying to give themselves more time to decide rather than be rushed into an appointment. There is also some resentment about Ince going public with his desire to get the Rovers post and that has raised a few eyebrows in high places. It is a tough call for chairman John Williams who thought he had found the new Mark Hughes in Ince but may have to have a dramatic re-think in the next 48 hours.
Iceman Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Rite its nearly 9pm.Nicko this better be good, coz the dutch are upsetting me now.c'mon you dutch!organge all the way!

brian_gallagher85 Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Will it be as big in the paper tomorrow Nicko? I see the sexy names have reappeared in that story Here's hoping Ince doesn't have official talks then
Mike Graham Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 thanks for the info Nicko. well timed; i'm off to clean the bathroom floor now before the 2nd half starts
nicko Posted June 21, 2008 Author Posted June 21, 2008 Ince is still sure he is getting it, but...why the delay?
Bobby G Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 So Nicko you have no idea who we have been talking to in the past 24 hours? But can you confirm we have been talking to someone? Any ideas?
bringdunnback Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Interesting, I wasn't too impressed when Ince revealed his desire either, not too professional. I'd rather we made the right decsion than the quick one. BTW Peter Winkleman always annoyed me.
Iceman Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Nicko u said there was a development,on the takeover side as wel.what would that be?
Ozz Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 It may be worth waiting till the end of the Euro 2008 competition before making an appointment-we may be able to talk to Bilic, Hiddink and Van Basten-for the sake of a couple of weeks we could possibly have more choices. Patience is a virtue...w2hich I haven't got. This is where the boss chase story stands. The story may be overtaken with a phone call at any time - an option I do not dismiss. What I said 10 minutes ago.
brian_gallagher85 Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 BTW Peter Winkleman always annoyed me. He'll be a legend in my eyes if he helps us avoid Ince
rundereim Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 you said also somthing going on with the takeover eny news abaut that....scenario nicko
