TugaysMarlboro Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Nicko, just to let you know, not sure if that is going to be your final publication, but you've spelt Laudrup wrong. Secondly, did you mention before that there was another manager who we'd been speaking to for 24 hours? I'm guessing that since you mentioned Bilic, that it's him correct?
Aberdeen Blue Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Cheers for the update Nicko, not sure I am any clearer as to how this is going to pley out though. The People will be in my basket next to the Times tommorrow as a "thank you"
nicko Posted June 21, 2008 Author Posted June 21, 2008 So Nicko you have no idea who we have been talking to in the past 24 hours? But can you confirm we have been talking to someone? Any ideas? Rovers have been leaking that there is a second candidate. I am not sure, but something is a bit odd. MK Dons can't figure why they got an approach to 'speak' rather than to 'take' which is puzzling everyone. Winkelman's stance is quite right. Don't mess us about, but you can have him if you REALLY want him. We shall see.
sparkspakespoke Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Nicko, didnt you say ealier that the alernative option to Ince was a more expensive one? Why would Laudrup or whoever be the more expensive option?

I will leave the Laudrup spelling to the subs! I did hear there was another candidate but I must say those rumours did seem to lead back to Rovers - who may be playing games. There's no doubt they are unhappy that the Laudrup story came out...it took the wind out of Ince's sails a bit.
bazza Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 hi guys . anything exciting happened today ( dont wanna spend 1/2 hour trawling previous 20 pages) Yup! We've just found out that Wikipedia isn't an encyclopedia. By the way, why are we all using American spelling? It's "Encyclopaedia"! Looking at the word it should really means a child's bike covered in rainproof plastic.
brian_gallagher85 Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Appears that we don't want him then ...although I fully agree with their stance.

nicko Posted June 21, 2008 Author Posted June 21, 2008 Appears that we don't want him then ...although I fully agree with their stance. I wouldn't jump to that conclusion. It could just be a strange negotiating move. It stumps me.
Mike Graham Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 It is now clear that Ince is not the Rovers Board's first choice; if he was he would have been announced by now. If Ince does eventually get the job offer then where will it leave him knowing that he is, as best, the 2nd choice?

nicko Posted June 21, 2008 Author Posted June 21, 2008 Cheers Nicko, now get back to watching your Ruskies. Oh yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
QOTSA Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 I'm of the opinion that Darren Lewis's article the other day could seriously have undermined Ince in the eyes of Williams and co. Great call from Nicko regarding Russia's chances this summer. I didn't see it from their qualification campaign but they've been mightily impressive.
nicko Posted June 21, 2008 Author Posted June 21, 2008 I've heard something that is too late to make the papers but needs to be told. You can make up your own minds on this. I know what I think. Paul Ince - as you will recall - was told to get his coaching badges moving, He was invited to an FA of Wales course last Wednesday... And did not turn up! If that is his idea of making an effort I am not sure. I don't know if Rovers are aware of that. They should be. They probably are now.

Well then, as you say that's not making an effort and he doesn't deserve to be in charge of a Premier League club. Some may think of it as being harsh but he's had two years previously and he only had to go for a day to watch, and he couldn't even be bothered to do that!
cn_barlow Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 The arrogance of the man! JW will not be impressed by this. Why the hell would you not turn up? what a jerk
Aberdeen Blue Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 You might see a McFadden story in the Scottish edition...check the by-line on the picture. Said I'd buy it, didn't say I would read it!!! Just messing.....
ebenrocks Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 id think that Rovers would have to be aware of it, but i doubt that they had been made aware before friday, or at least didnt take note of it before then. It may be the reason everything has suddenly stalled. Maybe their want to talk to him is oaddress the concerns over Ince's commitment.
