nicko any truth that Milan Baros is set to move to Bolton?

Checked it last week - told no - but they have been known to lie...believe they are after someone better.

Louis Saha on loan or Big Bafetimbi Gomis at St.Etienne if the price comes down.

I've been behind Ince from the start, but now I believe JW would be both mad and irresponsible to employ him. The Mirror article was an example of Ince trying to manage his (future) boss through the media and the FAW thing points to him not being a man of his word. If he is appointed after these incidents, JW can't complain if/when he gets more of the same on a regular basis.

If I can indulge in a Philip-style completely groundless speculation: perhaps JW has heard that the prospective new owners would want to install their own Chairman - hardly unreasonable if you've going to spend 40 million quid on something. This would explain both the reported slowness in sending stuff to the consortium and also perhaps the selection process being strung out with plenty of interviews for JW along the way, advertising himself to potential other employers. Of course that plan is now spectacularly backfiring as what is most visible is a leak-ridden farce where it looks like no-one bar Ince wants the job and he is wrapping JW round his little finger.

Or maybe not...

Does anyone believe that noone else is interested in the job ? Of course people are interested other than Ince.

over 40 applicants, fat sam and mcclown would have snapped the hands off Rovers for the job as I am certain would other potential managers.

I'm not very keen on Ince, but:

- I can't believe Ince would have sanctioned the Mirror story, certainly not in the way it appeared

- There may well be a very good reason for Ince not turning up to the Welsh training session

In the scheme of things these are small details, which unless Ince has told JW one thing, and lied about it, are no big deal.

It came down to a realistic short list of six or seven if you include Shearer.

SHEARER - fannied around, said no.

INCE - impressed, sorted out qualification issue [well maybe not].

ALLARDYCE - chased from the parish by a screaming mob.

MCCLAREN - ditto.

MARTINEZ - still think he met them.

TEN CATE - managed to cock himself up with Chelsea pay-offs and found Rovers in feint-hearted form about the issue.

LAUDRUP - secret meeting, still available but no further contact.

I don't think BILIC was in the frame a week or so ago. That COULD have changed and may explain the delay. But that is total supposition.

By the way, does HE have his coaching badges?

Official txt come through. Ince has been appointed on 3-year deal.

"Rovers can today announce that Paul Ince has been appointed as the new manager. Ince has signed a 3-year deal. A press conference will be held on Tuesday."
