You honestly think he would be given anywhere near that amount of money?

The media seems to think Ince will have no money unless he sells Bents and Roque. If that is the case what has happened to the £10 million that Hughes was supposedly going to spend this summer?

No idea one way or the other, we'll have to wait with fingers crossed. Besides its not about how much there is available but how it is spent.

Which media?

Giving him such a large amount of money to spend straight away could be costly....

personally i dont think he'll bring many in. Apart from the replacement for Bentley when he goes

If thats the angle Setanta want to take then they'll lose any Rovers supporters that they had I imagine. Sky have been very positive in their reporting of the news today.

Does anybody actually watch Setanta Sports News?

I believe the kitty was and is around £10 million.

If Bentley goes that will increase.

If Roque goes even more.

But as you already need two to three players you don't want to add to the numbers you will have to find.

No matter how much cash you have there is a shortage of talent right now.

One point about this - when was the last time Paul Ince SAW a Premier League game?

I hope we don't go for players he knows from five or six years ago...a recipe for disaster.

Very interesting debate just now on Setanta Sports News with Sherwood and Steve Claridge.

Basically saying the board need to pump money in, as it will be impossible to stay where we are unless we provide more cash. Said what Hughes did, with the money he had, was a miracle that cannot be repeated.

Good spot...I meant 'you'...have to remain impartial after all. ;)

I recognised it for what it was, a slip from an article about your Claret chums

Someobody needs to tell Dumb and Dumber that you can't spend what you've not got.

Taxi for Claridge, by the way!

Has Claridge been drinking, saying that Bentley may change his mind now Ince has been appointed! (because Ince was such a top player).

Claridge also asking why don't the board provide finance - interesting stuff, tune in.....

I see Bumley are about to spend £1.3 million on Paterson.

I think that includes clauses...such as promotion and European domination.

Plenty more to sign for Coyley now that has has finished doing his coaching badges.

Some managers actually do that.

nicko, any chance of takeover moving forward, i mean a turtle cud get from mill hill to ewood quicker than the rate at which takeover thing is happening at

How unfortunate Zulu, you could have put it towards the cost of a 2009/10 CHAMPIONSHIP season ticket at the Breezeblock!

You mean it will take so long to raise ten bob? :P

I have to say that the 'first black British manager to manage in the premiership' tag does seem a bit pointless, especially in this day and age.

What next - first black manager to win a game at Old Trafford , first black british manager to be sent to the stands.

Careful Hasta you'll have the silly sod wetting himself! What about first black manager to be sent to the stands? or first black manager to refuse to talk to the TV? Best of all how about fitrst black manager to be sacked?

Personally I don't give a flying one what colour a player or manager is, I just want the best for the club in ability, demeanour, and as a figurehead and this guy is not that. I'm will say that I am NOT colour prejudiced at all.... but it's bloody obvious that Paul Mellelieu is!

My daughter was just on there, first fan on after Sherwood

I agreed with her points, she knows her stuff!

Setanta are speaking to Darkness soon......

Slightly scary that Ince potentially, with the likely sale of Bentley, could have around £30 million to spend!!

I very much doubt that! If that was the case Hughes might still be here. This whole appointment smacks of bargain basement. BRFC will trouser most of the cash for a rainy day.

Theno - I am the same as you in that I never liked Ince as a person/player etc.

However, as a manager, he is very much an unknown quantity. At least give him a chance, that's what I intend to do.

Indeed, that is a common fault with many young managers. Colin Hendry at Blackpool springs to mind.

Likewise. Not happy but what can you do? I'll still be at Goodison on the first day.
