nicko Posted June 23, 2008 Author Posted June 23, 2008 He is top class They had there chance last year, and they ###### that up big time. 21 years old...Northern Ireland international...13 goals in a struggling side. I'd put him down for between 18 and 20 this time.

iamarover Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Some very interesting articles on the LET wesbite. Certainly gave me more confidence in him. Any doubters out there? Here's the link... http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport...ers/roversnews/ I was one of the English legions in Rome that night. Watching our own future Caesar getting his laurels. What does this link tell you? if there is failure it will be glorious. No Hughsie 4-5-1 elbow smashing, back barging snarling stuff. Come on, where's the romance, people? Everywhere we go they'll hate us for him. Ince will raise a magnificent standard for us to follow ...Arte et Larore. Hope and Glory. We are the Rovers.
Exiledfan Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Paterson will sign in about 15 minutes... I believe the sales of Gray and Lafferty wiped a fair bit of that off. If they bring in half-a-dozen new, young and enthusiast faces I think my chum will go rather well this season. Who's the other one there today Nicko? An overweight 35 year old no doubt.
deftangel Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Is that 'Mark'? Nope, Chris. They've bought a Rugby player to play up front I hope we don't get Phil Thompson in though, that'd almost be as bad.
nicko Posted June 23, 2008 Author Posted June 23, 2008 Who's the other one there today Nicko? An overweight 35 year old no doubt. No, the other has been and gone and will be sorted by the weekend. Next!
sandstorm Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Nicko, do you think Ince had his plans ready for the backroom staff when he was at the interview, or is he working on it now?
misterbigalow Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 I'm guessing we'll find out who Ince's backroom staff are tomorrow at the press conference, do you think Nicko?

He probably will as he's also a Scunt... so he'll be used to playing on a bobbley pitch in a rickety old ground.

Good spot. Our MB hero needs a 'Powered by Nicko's Thread' byline

Friends, Romans, countrymen...Sceptical posters, cynical journos (soz Nicko), barbarians lurking beyond the walls, enemies at the gates, lend me your eyes: We about to witness the apotheosis of our own Ceasar. Hail Ince!

Hail Ince! For those who are about to winge we salute you.
leon Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Il believe any signing when i see it and not before - far too early for us to be trying to sign players yet. Surely he will be watching DVD's galore this week looking back at our past perfromances last year I'd hope he'd already done a significant amount of reviews of both BRFC and potential signings as interview prep. If I was asking the questions, I think two of the highest priority would have been "what do you see as the current weaknesses with the Rovers?", and "...and what do you intend to do about them?".
DannyKeg Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 I hope Phil Thompson doesn't come to Rovers, but if he does, keep him away from the youth team and reserves. Souness sacked him at Liverpool for his constant and vitriolic criticism and having a negative effect on the younger players. I believe he came to blows with Steve Highway about this.
Flopsy Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 We about to witness the apotheosis of our own Ceasar. We're starting a rovers brand of posh dog food?
greggyk Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Also, we've made a point of being a forward thinking club in the last few years...having Big Nose will be a step back IMO....GET NEWELL IN!!
rebelmswar Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 We're starting a rovers brand of posh dog food? Might help the transfer funds.
nicko Posted June 23, 2008 Author Posted June 23, 2008 Nicko, do you think Ince had his plans ready for the backroom staff when he was at the interview, or is he working on it now? Most managers take their mates with them. It's a good idea, you know you are working with. However I would think Ince's mob could do with a couple of extra helpers. Sparky took the whole lot with him - bar Hodges - so there are some gaps to fill.
iamarover Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 We're starting a rovers brand of posh dog food? Posh dog? I thought Fergie had left Britain?
thecomebackid Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 We're starting a rovers brand of posh dog food? I though that was already being served at the back of the Riverside?

Didnt he have a coaching contract offered? He might not be a happy bunny at the moment as I think he took a pay cut to get a longer deal and a coaching post?
thecomebackid Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Posh dog? I thought Fergie had left Britain? That's a bit unfair Paddy...she's not that posh!
socngill Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 What's the score with Tugay? Didnt he have a coaching contract offered? He might not be a happy bunny at the moment as I think he took a pay cut to get a longer deal and a coaching post? It will be interesting to see what happens with Tugay, and some of our other players. Apparently he played with fast wingers at MKDons (so that Gamst out of a job) so he may feel some of our current crop don;t meet his needs. One thing is for sure, we need to sort our midfield out, and if Ince knows anything it's the middle of the park. So first Hughes comes in and sorts out or strikers, now Ince can sort out our midfielders. Steve Bruce for our manager once Ince goes

Get SWP for the other side and we're flying! Literally!
