Dave S Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Most managers take their mates with them. It's a good idea, you know you are working with. However I would think Ince's mob could do with a couple of extra helpers. Sparky took the whole lot with him - bar Hodges - so there are some gaps to fill. Do you know why Hodges stayed/wasn't offered a role at City? It was Hughes who appointed him and with a new manager coming in Hodges job can't be considered secure.

Sandiway Blue Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 With this in mind, perhaps Ince would be more receptive to a Lennon + Cash deal for D-Bent than the majority on here. Get SWP for the other side and we're flying! Literally! Hmmm pity they are both RIGHT sided players!
broadsword Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Ah, "D-Bent" -- David Bentley! I kept on thinking, "but we haven't got Darren Bent to swap with them" :-S
Saf Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 nicko, do u think tht spuds will mke a bid for bentley seeing as new manager is in place now
Manchester Blue Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Most managers take their mates with them. It's a good idea, you know you are working with. However I would think Ince's mob could do with a couple of extra helpers. Sparky took the whole lot with him - bar Hodges - so there are some gaps to fill. I'm surprised he left Hodges, i'd heard good stuff about the work he;d been doing but I suppose not many had come from the reserves. Then again he can only work with what he's got. Hitchcock seemed like a nice chap but he didn't seem in anyway anythign more than a trainer for the keepers. He certainly didn't seem to have any input other than as a cheerleader.
Fife Rover Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 nicko, do u think tht spuds will mke a bid for bentley seeing as new manager is in place now Saf Are you saving up for a new keyboard? Only you seem to be struggling on with that battered old thing with no capitals and no vowels on it (except the 'u' ) for a long time.
cn_barlow Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Hmmm pity they are both RIGHT sided players! So what....either one of those players would have more of an impact on the left than MGP did last season.
Saf Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 nicko, do you think he ince will encourage more players to mkae the step up from reserves or academy to first team squad

Sandiway Blue Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 So what....either one of those players would have more of an impact on the left than MGP did last season. True. But imagine the frenzy and the moaning if things went t1ts up with regards to playing players out of position! I am a great believer in square pegs and square holes etc. EDIT:oops!

LeftWinger Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Keep up Bryan, it's P-Inc and C-Ron etc these days I suppose we should just be thankful Steve Hitchen never made the grade.
Fife Rover Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 do we want to start bickering over little things i did get a "B" IN gcse english The "little thing" I am pointing out in a jokey way (not bickering over) is that you routinely use text speak in all your posts, and to be a member on here you must have seen and agreed to the rules of membership which expressly forbids the use of textspeak. Why you have been allowed to carry on doing it for as long as you have I wouldn't know, but I do know that the mods have come down on others who did the same in the past. Fair do's for all?

Tom 1 Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Talking of Darren Bent, will he be staying at Spurs, I read something a few days ago about Sunderland bidding 12m?! Can't imagine him settling for them.

ThatRabbitsDynamite Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Anyone, Are all players contracts written so, they expire on the same date thereby signaling the start of major player movement? Say 1 July 20??. Where might i find listings showing players that may be free shortly?

Where might i find listings showing players that may be free shortly? I imagine they're almost all set to expire in the summer transfer window. Presumably the start as there's not much to be gained from hanging on to a player for a few extra weeks.
b12_simon Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 I've heard Everton's after him too. Rumoured to be bidding £8m - another load of money spunked up the wall by Spuds stunning bit of business from Spuds.
Tom 1 Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 West Ham apparently asking Villa for 8m for Anton Ferdinand. Martin O'Neills fetish for Young, Black and English male footballers continues.
