I'm not very keen on Ince, but:

On the Rovers' site too.

Well life will be boring now.

Good article from today's Observer http://blogs.guardian.co.uk/sport/2008/06/..._mark_than.html

Sam, nothing you say makes any sense at all.

Give Ince a chance.

I don't believe that you can't see that Ince's appointment is an important milestone. Come on just admit it, nobody's goignto think any less of you, AESF aside who's probaly dusting off his white pointy hat.

More importantly have you found your golf clubs yet?

Here's a clue bigboy:

FIRST BLACK ENGLISH TOP FLIGHT MANAGER

Got it yet?

Anyway, what's it to you, you're off to spend Saturdays on the golf course, unless you've changed your mind.

13.44 to 14.16! Not 3 hours and you changed your mind completely about Paul Ince based on one soppy article in the Guardian by some aged hippy who hardly mentioned football, BRFC or anything other than the achievements of black people.... apparently against all the odds... in sport. And that imo means to me that you have most certainly been swayed by colour prejudice!

Hasta and jan sussed you and needless to say I'm with them in counting your opinions from now on as worthless...... so no change there then eh?

You are a dimwit.

1. I wasn't keen on Ince

2. Inces' appointment is a milestone

3. Nows he's appointed, time to support the manager

This is nicko's thread so I shall employ nicko's style of response which may imply that I am shouting when I am not.

I'M A DIMWIT? GOOD GRIEF! AT LEAST I HAVE THE COURAGE OF MY CONVICTIONS AND AM NOT A DITHERER. YOUR DECISION MAKING CAPABILITIES MIRROR THE ACTIONS OF AN AVERAGE WEATHER VANE.

2. Inces' appointment is a milestone....

EH? I FAIL TO SEE HOW APPOINTING A BLACK CHAP WILL HELP BRFC BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE PREM? IT IS COMPLETELY IRRELEVENT TO THE MATTER IN HAND. WOULD YOU CARE TO ELABORATE HOW ON EARTH CAN THE COLOUR OF HIS SKIN MAKE ANY BLOODY DIFFERENCE ONE WAY OR THE OTHER FFS? ITS WHATS BETWEEN HIS EFFIN EARS THAT COUNTS AND YOUR INFERENCE THAT THIS IS A GOOD APPOINTMENT PURELY COS INCE IS BLACK DISPLAYS (HOWEVER MUCH YOU WANT TO DISGUISE IT) ...COLOUR PREJUDICE! FACT.

3. Nows he's appointed, time to support the manager. FINE SO GET ON WITH IT.... I'VE A FEELING HE'S GOING TO NEED ALL THE HELP THAT HE CAN GET. OH AND SHOULD HE BE THROWN OUT ON HIS EAR BEFORE HIS CONTRACT IS UP I DON'T WANT YOU OR ANY BLOODY HIPPY WRITERS IN THE PRESS SCREAMING THAT THE CLUB IS RACIST! ARE YOU PREPARED TO MAKE THAT PROMISE ON HERE... NOW PAUL M?

BENTLEY OUT

His replacement sure looks promising :rolleyes:Whilst others are fiddling with the silly big name transfers

Tell you what neekoy I've said on here in the past that I've been afraid that the Ginger Williams or anybody else nosing around BRFC are potential asset strippers who will come in to sell absolutely everything to make a profit on their purchase at the expense of the clubs future. The 40m-50m or whatever it will take to buy the club from the trust can almost be covered by the annual Prem media money, the selling of players and assets could then turn huge mega profits any such initial investment. It's now concerning me that the trust are intent on preventing that happening by cashing in themselves.

Job 1 20-21

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but this mornings Radio Lancs had an interview with Warnock and how much he his looking forward to the new manager and claimed that reports that he wanted to leave were not true.

Now why has the name Mandy Rice Davies suddenly sprung to mind?

I wish such a big thing wasn't made out of the fact that he was black (it seems to have been mentioned a fair bit in teh media ...)

Why should it matter, given that Tigana and Gullit have been there before him anyway? His race should be forgotten and he should be judged by results alone. Unfortunately this may not be the case, and extra pressure will be upon him because if he mucks it up, it will be seen to put back the cause of minority managers.

I really couldn't care less whether we have a South Sea Islander wearing a grass skirt as manager if he wins every week.

His race is relevant only because people keep mentioning it.

Absolutely...... and now you've fallen into the trap too! Dont worry Bry..... I've been put in the same boat by Paul Mellelieu's 'positive' <_< prejudice.

It's easy to forget just what a big deal it sort of is. If you think back 20 years the speed of the removal of racism has been very impressive. His race shouldn't be an issue when appointing him, judging him or firing him, but it is worth mentioning now just to show what state the game is in.

Pardon me for having the first good night's sleep in a month...

TRANSFER TARGETS - I think there is something in the Keith Andrews thing, but I would imagine the new manager will not want him to be his FIRST signing to avoid the sneers and sniggers. If he likes him, fair enough, he knows him well enough. I see the Sporting Lisbon player Vujkevic [spelling?] is being linked but that is probably a tease to get a rival club interested - and one not too far away. Olifinyaya [spelling?] has asked out at Wolves and the same may apply to him.

COACHING BADGES - I believe the Ian Wright column in the Sun today is one of the most loathesome things I have ever read.

GOLFING IN PORTUGAL - I checked that and was told it is incorrect, still no explanation for the no-show at the coaching course though.

BURNLEY - Second signing - as promised - made. The big lad Kevin McDonald from Dundee, a good un and a tall one which is rare for the past few generations of Scots who seem to have suffered in their growth spurts since Maggie snatched the milk.

BENTLEY - Villa like him, but not at £15 million and will probably take Milner. Liverpool like him at £12 million and will probably try swaps.

FINNAN - For our Fulham chum...can't afford the fee or the wages.
