b12_simon Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 We're negotiating a new contract with that lump of wood? ffs. The new manager has a chance to revive MGP's form.

Jan Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 ....am I alone in suspecting that Ince is actually illiterate? He displays all the classic signs of continual avoidance of the written word. If he is illiterate thats bad but I may afford him some sympathy but if he's simply missed all these appointments through being pig ignorant then thats another matter and far worse. Also, I'm afraid, my supposition (illiteracy). Although I also expected it to be covered up with the Dyslexia excuse. (The "i'm too thick to learn" form of dyslexia rather than the real, rather rarer condition)
AndyC Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 Good question. nicko - in your opinion who would win in a fight between a goose and a swan?

SAS Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 Nicko was the compensation for Ince £2.2 million? dont talk stupid £500,000 has been reported in papers, and i still think thats a hell of a lot imagine stanley getting 500k for someone poaching coleman
Mr Creosote Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 Now be honest who would expect anything else from Ian Wright? How he gets paid for spouting shyte (and especially by the Bbc is beyong my comprehension. And anyway according to his greeting of guests on his show BTC is a 'bro' isn't he? At this point and after reading the linked Mail article yesterday..... here http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...Ewood-Park.html ....am I alone in suspecting that Ince is actually illiterate? He displays all the classic signs of continual avoidance of the written word. If he is illiterate thats bad but I may afford him some sympathy but if he's simply missed all these appointments through being pig ignorant then thats another matter and far worse. I always had the impression that Ince was something of a fick Cockney so, early nerves aside, I was fairly impressed with him today. He wasn't my choice but he's here now so I've learnt to live with that and the hope that I will be pleasantly surprised. Your constant sniping at Ince now go beyond the concerns of a worried and dissapointed fan and make you seem bitter and determined to be so. If you are a Rovers fan then, like me, you will put aside your dissaproval, get behind the club and see where this takes us.

andrew92 Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 Having watched wolves a cople of times next year, olifinjana is not a premiership player, although he is slightly better than mokewena....
Rovermatt Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 Having watched wolves a cople of times next year You are taking care of the De Lorean aren't you?
andrew92 Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 wow a nice type-o there, i defiently watched them last year...
socngill Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 I have read in two different articles that Villa have been in talks with bentley's advosor's. Surely this would suggest he is being tapped up? or am I missing the meaning - for instance perhaps if they talk to his agent, wife and dog it's fine just so long as they don't speak directly to him...

AV Champions League, why would BENDER go there?, to lower his profile for a while?

As agents are common to various clubs and players you seem to get away with talking to them. They then give an indication of whether to bother making a move or not. Personally i think Bentley would be stupid to move to a similar club at this point. He knows the players and way we play, so he will have another good season and get his big time move next summer(if not this). Move to Villa and he may get pushed out or put in a position he doesn't like and it push back his development. Whilst i was on holiday i was lead to believe, from villa mates, that they had opened the bidding at £15m. If this is true then we should look to push them nearer to the £20m, after all they are loaded. I think Ince may choose to be quite strong on this and keep both Rocky and Bents until he has had a chance to work with them a while.
roverfanuk Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 Nicko is it true that were after Sporting Lisbon midfielder Simon Vukcevic? Would be a brilliant signing if it was, but was just told by a mate that Ince wants him to be his first signing? Please tell me its true, my mate is normally very reliable...
bennyboyt11 Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 Nicko do you think Ince will look to cement his place as the new Rovers boss by making a big signing, as if to please the doubters of his appeal as a manager?

I don't know how Ince could have seen Vukcevic. He was also linked with Bolton today - I have checked that and it's wrong. So I suspect someone is just floating his name to find a buyer.
nicko Posted June 24, 2008 Author Posted June 24, 2008 Nicko do you think Ince will look to cement his place as the new Rovers boss by making a big signing, as if to please the doubters of his appeal as a manager? I don't think he has the money for 'flash' signings. Two or three sensible ones would be better. Finding out about the futures of Bentley and possibly Roque would be his real priority...
Hughesy Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 How would react if his 1st signing was Paul Scholes?
Manc Rover Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 How would react if his 1st signing was Paul Scholes? I'd be happy and then I would wake up after my dream!
LWX Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 How would react if his 1st signing was Paul Scholes? Scholes would be a quality signing in my humble opinion. He can still definitely do a job at the top level.
ThatRabbitsDynamite Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 Nicko, I was wondering if there is a specified date that most or ALL contracts end on during the summer transfer window? These would obviously be player contracts that are up for the club they currently play for. Also, do you know where one can find a listing of players who's contracts are up during this summer transfer window? Or even have just 1-year left on the current contracts?
