thenodrog Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 Then we have to go out & splash out over inflated amounts on a player to replace him........ ...........What do you think Ince can do with JUST CASH, he may not be as shrewd as Hughes. And there's the rub! I will say that if he wants to be a success then Ince bloody well needs to get as shrewd as Hughes and pdq!

thenodrog Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 Yes he is a very good crosser of a ball, but he is far from consistent. I would say we are lucky if we get a very good game out of him in 1 of every 3 or 4 matches. £15m-£20m or £10m + Lennon are both very good offers and not ones to be turned down lightly. He has been consistent between good and excellent for the past 2 years. Very very few bad games imo.
thenodrog Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 I don't go into Tesco and expect to pay less than they are asking for their produce. Sometimes I get a good deal because it's to their advantage to do one but I don't set the prices; they do. We need to be tough with Bentley and with any potential buyers for all sorts of reasons. Thanks gumboots but only a woman could use shopping in Tesco's as a comparison! Us fellas understand the concept of Ferrari's and mini's far better.
Eddie Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 Equally, very few excellent games. He's usually good, very rarely wins us a match. Lennon would fluctuate more and would have more downright bad games, but I think he'd win us more games.
thenodrog Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 Pretty sure at leaast 2 of those 3 would be in our starting line-up, quite possibly all 3. So now we can play with 13!? Whatever you say the wage bill would rise disproportionately.

I guess you really need to be there eddie.... and dont go back to arguing that you can tell how good a player is from watching the telly.
Rover down South Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 So instead of paying 35k per week in wages to Bents we have to find 100k pw and have two sat on the bench! Tugay is on less money now & we'd have to offload some of the deadwood i.e Mokoena. I think Dunn's days are numbered now, can't see him fitting into Ince's plans. Anyway I agree with Hughesy, Bentley is inconsistant & as for his performance for England against USA, I can't see that Capello would pick him again for a while, McLaren would, but not Capello. It was embarressing really, he tries to be Ronaldo & cocks it up. I think he is a slightly better than average player & if we get offered 15m or Lennon plus £10m I'd take their hand off. If you think I'm being over critical, I hate arrogant big heads & after the interview he did, I want rid. He became the player he has, because this club gave him a chance, loyalty means nothing to him.
roverfanuk Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 So now we can play with 13!? Whatever you say the wage bill would rise disproportionately. Who would you rather play with? Reid or Huddlestone? Dunn or Jenas? We'd be playing Lennon in RM if we sold Bentley to Spuds in part-exch anyway... I myself wouldnt mind seeing a midfield of Gamst - Jenas - Huddlestone - Lennon; next season. Vogel would be a superb bench option, along with Dunn with his injuries. Which would mean we could sell Reid and Mokoena...?

Parsonblue Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 Have you heard any whispers with regard to the coaching staff Nicko? I notice on the MK Dons official website that as well as Ray Mathias the MK Dons have parted company with Karl Robinson, first team coach, Duncan Russell, fitness coach, David Tuttle, chief scout, and John Seeley, masseur. Do we assume that they are all headed for Ewood Park? Do you know if the Rovers have lost any of their other backroom staff? I notice that Hughes has released Ian Miller, City's reserve team coach, as well as their fitness coach.
Iceman Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 Iceman I'm intrigued. Just where do you hear these things? I doubt you have many contacts of your own so I'm guessing you just read this crap on the various messageboards you abuse. You make as if you never read or believe any rumours….no need to get aggressive,I did say its just a rumour and to rather just leave it at that, did I not?
DannyKeg Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 SSN reporting that Ince has now taken complete backroom staff from MK Dons including scout, fitness trainer and masseur.
Rover down South Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 Rubbish. I guess you really need to be there eddie.... and dont go back to arguing that you can tell how good a player is from watching the telly. Like I just said, he was shocking for England & I WAS there. What I mean by this, is he is a long way behind Beckham, maybe even Wright-Phillips. He has stood out for us this season, because the rest of our midfield has been shocking. Anyway I hope he enjoy's it when he plays for England, the fans chant there's only one David Beckham, at first I felt sorry for him, but no more, he's an arrogant sh?t who is nowhere near as good as he thinks. So a don't try & convince him to stay Ince, take the money now while you can. Nicko, any transfer gossip?

Sounds like the MK Dons staff are all moving...but there will be an 'experienced' coach hired too. I take it from that lot that chief scout Mike Rigg is moving to Man City which figures with something I heard yesterday.
gbax Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 Thanks gumboots but only a woman could use shopping in Tesco's as a comparison! Us fellas understand the concept of Ferrari's and mini's far better. Gumboots is a woman???? Ah, that explains her lack of love for BFS!
Iceman Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 Just rumours that you've dreamt up? You're so full of kronk it's unbelievable! Whats your problem simon?i know u don’t like me,but im just saying what I heard and did say its just a rumour so don’t think to much of it.
b12_simon Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 Whats your problem simon?i know u don’t like me,but im just saying what I heard and did say its just a rumour so don’t think to much of it. Fair enough Iceman - I jumped you for a rumour that you have admitted is just that. For that I apologise.
den Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 Sounds like the MK Dons staff are all moving...but there will be an 'experienced' coach hired too. Verified.
nicko Posted June 26, 2008 Author Posted June 26, 2008 Nicko, any transfer gossip? No names yet - but a right back and attacking midfield player are the priorities. I'm not sure anyone will reach the Bentley asking price and the same possibly applies to Roque. I still think Andrews will move from MK Dons but they may well bury that on a busy news day...
modes98 Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 I take it from that lot that chief scout Mike Rigg is moving to Man City which figures with something I heard yesterday. We should do all we can to hold on to our scouts, they have done an amazing job in the past few years. Whats your problem simon?i know u don’t like me,but im just saying what I heard and did say its just a rumour so don’t think to much of it. The problem is you state it like it is a fact most of the time.
Iceman Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 Fair enough Iceman - I jumped you for a rumour that you have admitted is just that. For that I apologise. No worries mate
Head Rover Heels Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 We should do all we can to hold on to our scouts, they have done an amazing job in the past few years.Have to admit, that was the first thought that crossed my mind, but after considering it - Didn't they recommend A.N.Other defender, and then Samba's name popped up? And i'm sure they were recommending one of Santa Cruz's colleagues, rather than the man himself. The fitness coach is where i'm most concerned - It's been no secrect that ours was exceptional.
Eddie Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 So now we can play with 13!? Whatever you say the wage bill would rise disproportionately. The wage bill would rise as a result of signing better players. How else would you like us to go about improving the team? Let's see if we can sell a youth player on 100 pounds a week and bring in someone who can have an impact on the first team...
Rover down South Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 No names yet - but a right back and attacking midfield player are the priorities. I'm not sure anyone will reach the Bentley asking price and the same possibly applies to Roque. I still think Andrews will move from MK Dons but they may well bury that on a busy news day... Ha ha. Can see it now...... Ronaldo finally seals his move to Real Madrid, United sign Kaka as his replacement, Adebayor goes to AC Milan & Blackburn have signed Andrews from Ince's former club MK Dons!!
Torgeir Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 Well I know that Bentley wants to leave BRFC and I do know that he wont do that for less money no matter how tight a wage structure is in place. C'mon Torgeir give things a little more thought. Bentley didn't sign the new contract so his wages cannot be astronomical, but he's probably one of our higher earners. So let's say I didn't think things through and that Tottenham don't have a tight wage structure at all - how much do they pay Lennon?
