Have to admit, that was the first thought that crossed my mind, but after considering it - Didn't they recommend A.N.Other defender, and then Samba's name popped up? And i'm sure they were recommending one of Santa Cruz's colleagues, rather than the man himself.

The fitness coach is where i'm most concerned - It's been no secrect that ours was exceptional.

I was told in the pub that Ince's fitness coach is an ex marine and one tough SOAB.

Bentley didn't sign the new contract so his wages cannot be astronomical, but he's probably one of our higher earners. So let's say I didn't think things through and that Tottenham don't have a tight wage structure at all - how much do they pay Lennon?

For what it's worth Bentley is currently on around £25,000-a-week. Lennon is only on about half of that.

No names yet - but a right back and attacking midfield player are the priorities.

I'm not sure anyone will reach the Bentley asking price and the same possibly applies to Roque.

I still think Andrews will move from MK Dons but they may well bury that on a busy news day... ;)

So Ince's first player signing might be a 28 year old, journeyman, League 1 midfielder who has been shipped out on loan by most of the clubs he's ever played at...

I feel sick.

Seconded. Only that it doesnt matter if its the first, or second, or third or whatever... just the thought is sick. And I'm sure the players are thrilled to be working with the MK Dons backroom team...

I have to say it worries me greatly that Ince is bringing what seems to be everything from the Mk Dons.

I understand the need to surround yourself with people you trust, but we have some big players who will need to be 'managed'.

I am going to give Ince my support, but he needs to do more than simply stick everything that was successful at Mk Dons in a removal van and ship it to Ewood.

.....however Hughes did similar with his team and Savage and Bellamy.

So we could get £10m plus save £650,000 a year on his contract. Sounds good to me!

Hughes assembled his team from other clubs, although he did know them all from past times.

But then again he was an international boss. He didn't really need to bring the masseur, we already have 2.

Who would you rather play with?

Reid or Huddlestone?

Dunn or Jenas?

We'd be playing Lennon in RM if we sold Bentley to Spuds in part-exch anyway...

I myself wouldnt mind seeing a midfield of Gamst - Jenas - Huddlestone - Lennon; next season.

Vogel would be a superb bench option, along with Dunn with his injuries. Which would mean we could sell Reid and Mokoena...? <_<

Remind me which team finished 7th will you?

Was that Strudwick (who left for ManUre last summer) or his replacement? I did put some of the blame for our often lacklustre performance last season down to the new fitness coach.

Never mind. I hear Ince's training fellow is an ex army man - a nice bit of army training should do the lads sound. Can't wait to see the effects of it :D

Any ideas what the valuation on Roques head is?

Interesting!

For what it's worth Bentley is currently on around £25,000-a-week. Lennon is only on about half of that.

Actually if we could get lennon in on say 25k a week, we would be saving £1.3m on the new contract offered to Bent boy (£50k per week)

So we could get £10m plus save £650,000 a year on his contract. Sounds good to me!

Keegan has already gone public and said he doesnt want him.

Lennon wants to go to Newcastle

So, Bentley's put himself under real pressure.

Either some club meets Rovers asking price, which will be high, or he has to sign the improved contract at Rovers to get himself an England international's wage.

Either way we win.

And he's not got the option of sulking, because I don't see Capello as a man who'd look favourably on that sort of thing!

You would need £12 million upwards for Roque...but the snag is if a really big club comes in and turns his head...I am not convinced that is going to happen, but there is a possibility of Arsenal trying...

Lennon does NOT have a club willing to buy him right now...his value is £5 million and there are no takers just yet.

In todays market that is a fair price.

I'd be happy with a cash+Lennon deal from Spurs for Bentley. Minimum £8m cash i'd say.

If he wants to go then we probably won't get a better deal elsewhere because it would give us an instant replacement.

I think Lennon might look at it as a positive too, because Bents has shown that playing for us week in week out consistently well (arguable this season I know) is enough to get into the England team.

Must be just me, but i think Lennon is rubbish.

But if Spurs were to offer £15 million plus Lennon i would take it. Use the £15 million to buy a proper replacement for Bents, someone who can actually cross a ball and provide Roque the service. We can use Lennon as an impact sub against tired legs.

If they offer £10 million plus Lennon i would turn them down.

That would be;

a) the team with a new manager who plays a completely new form of football which requires pace in midfield

B) the team that was very very lucky with injuries last season, ala Dunn

c) the team that has been crying out for pace in its midfield, and a creative midfielder in the center

d) the team that has a wantaway player, who scored some very important goals and provided the majority of assists last season that got us to 7th place in the first place?!

Lennon, SWP and Pennant all fall into the same category of players.

Quick and can go past a man but final ball is poor.

In order of preference for me it would be:-

SWP

Lennon,

Pennant

In todays market that is a bargain. Muamba (£5m), Sidwell (£5.5m), (Milner £8-9m) and thats before the transfer window kicks off.

Agree with that, in todays market 5m for Lennon is pretty good.

15m & Lennon? I think i'd accept that should Spurs offer it.

Lennon - Quicker and scores more goals

SWP is happy to take the money at Chelsea, that is obvious - so he can stay there.

Pennant has always been abit of a 'damaged goods' type player.
