Good question and a difficult one to answer. I'd look abroad probably, no specific names spring to mind.

One thing is for certain I wouldn't go for Lennon.

Put yourself in the manager's position. If DB does go you've only got til the end of the transfer window or it's Bert on the right with Reid at full back.

Oh good god no! I don't mind Emerton at RM too much, but Reid at RB - save us Jebus! Although regardless of Bentley leaving or not I still think we need a proper RB. Emerton is great and everything, but if he gets injured we are doomed.

If we sell Bentley for a large cash sum i am sure there will be players who can "cross a ball" available with the money we will get.

When we first signed Bentley on a loan deal he did pretty much nothing. A few years later he is in the England national team. Whats all the rubbish about players "can not" improve?! Lennon has the potential to be great, and reading those "you can never learn a player new things" is just plain stupid in my opinion.

Sure, a slow player can never be fast but other than that you can pretty much improve on everything in your game.

Wow...I fully agree with you. :blink:

Just on the lennon and bentley debate,i think that even when lennon was playing well,he was taken off or didnt start the next game.bentley on the other hand,has been an ever present,and his confidence levels just shot up.remember,if lennon sorts out his crossing,with the pace he has,he wil be so much a better player.he aint a bad player,much better than pennant though.

Just a quick thought.if lennon cant cross,then playing him in central midfield wouldnt be a bad idea.quick players,generaly play quick one touch football,and just putting in those little through balls.a quality right wing,with lennon and either reid/vogel or AN Other might not be bad

Other than in the minds of Spurs fans, some journalists and a lot of people on here has there been any indication that Lennon would actually be interested in a move to Rovers. What's the point of getting rid of Bentley only to bring in another player who doesn't really want to be here?

Peruvian international keeper, Scotland under-21 midfielder, Northern Ireland striker, Norwegian left back who was wanted by Brann Bergen and Rangers.

Better than some they had last season - by a mile. Duff keepers for a start.

There are no better signings arriving at any Championship side.

And more to come - plus a profit on sales.

Not to mention finding the time to get a coaching badge or two... ;)

My bad, must have been dreaming spurs scoring quite a few like that

Wouldn't think he'd be up for sale [if indeed he is, which I don't think he IS] if he was that good. He would certainly be in the England side before Bentley as well.
