No, the Sunday tale is bigger and better.

Sunday story better than the knox story - ok fair enough.

But is the 'better news ' better than the takeover / transfer news. If not what better news could there be. I therefore suggest that it has to be on one of these subjects - would this be correct?

It's big, it will provoke a lot of comment, answer a few questions, pose a few more.

For the obvious reasons I must keep it under wraps until the morning.

I will add anything I can that is missed then, but I think the People are giving it the whole show...and there will be a lot to go at.

Is it good news for Rovers or bad?

Nicko has already said- it is very good news.

I thought nicko later qualified it by saying it was "interesting" as far as we were concerned.

From his latter comments, sounds like takeover related news to me, possibly not entirely positive.

Man City are paying for Jo on the never-never, staged payments over four or five years. Nobody else would pay the full total CSKA wanted, so City got their man.

Hedgeing stories? You might want to check who broke it last January...

Moves and managerial changes don't go in straight lines. They happen over time and develop.

And as for the work permit, you better ask the wise men who sat on the appeal yesterday.

Farcical, but that's what football has turned into these days.

It seems everybody breaks the rules.

Not quite right Nicko. It seems that the rules can be bypassed or overlooked entirely for the big city clubs, but B*****s to all the rest.

Correct me if im wrong, but how can it be fair that we weren't allowed to sign Annan, who had played 10 or so games for Ghana, where as City can sign Jo, who has played a grand total of what? 1 game for Brazil, something smells...

Shame that. Diouff and Paul Ince in his playing years would have very similar personalities.

Why don't you give it a rest Theno? I am sure I am not the only one on this board that is getting heartily sick and tired of your never ending carping on this subject. Not very long ago you were going to send your season ticket back and play golf instead on Saturday afternoons. Why don't you just stick to plan 1?

There are plenty of my own tribe that I don't like. But he is one of the good ones.

You are a very patient man Nicko! I don't think I could show your fortitude in similar circumstances; in fact I know from experience that I could not, having already had no less than 3 proofs to date up here in Scotland. Mind you I am mellowing a bit in my old age. ;)

Rangers came in for Kalvenes while he was at Burnley on Thursday. McCoist is a big fan in particular. They wanted him to wait as they have another left back they are trying to sign - but he was the standby.

Coyley told the player and his agent to so sign or else forget it...he wasn't waiting. He signed.

Mind you, if you know better...

.....would never suggest that I know better than your good self Nicko. But seriously who, in their right mind, would turn down The Old Firm for Burnley.

I think Kavanes has chosen Burnley over Rangers Reserves/bench than Rangers per se.

No need to get sarky.

Kalvenes was at Burnley to sign - after accepting terms the day before - and was contacted by Rangers who told him to stall.

The option was given to him - sign with Burnley or forget it. He chose the correct option.

No need for that rudeness Fife so just cut to the chase and stick to facts and comment on the accuracy of my post rather than any perceived intent. If you are struggling cos your memory of the 90's is dimming or you have placed your telescope to the eye patch I can easily google you up a reminder or two for comparison.

How about a special version for us Roverites in Scotland Nicko? Up here the Scottish edition of the People thinks there are only two football clubs in the whole of England; Man.U. and Everton. Can't think why?

I wasn't being sarky - honest! :(

It's just that your pal has been in the local press bragging about how he has snatched his latest signings from under the noses of a "major force in British football" which is stretching things a bit. I doubt that it's sack cloth and ashes time at Ibrox because they wont have Kalvanes' jacksy on their bench next season.

Your mate could be playing a dangerous game. The Dingles get over excited at the drop of a hat. If Coyle dissapoints he may need to get his Mrs a flame retardant dress if they fancy nipping out for a chinky.

heard some news today from a teacher at the school where I mostly work. In the course of our conversation he said to me that he had his B Licence as he did a bit of coaching at the Liverpool academy. He said that Paul Ince`s son is at the academy and has been for a couple of years. One of the coaches there had impressed Ince so much that when he got the job at MKDons he took him with him. His name is Carl Robinson and he is only in his mid twenties; clearly he is not the coach with "premiership experience" but as this teacher said very forcefully he will be at Ewood next season in some coaching capacity.

Amazing what a chat in the staffroom can uncover!
