AggyBlue Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 Don't offer him improved terms, just turn his transfer request down. Deny him the chance to earn an extra couple of £M in his last few years playing. That would go down a treat in the Friedel household.
tonyoz Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 Deny him the chance to earn an extra couple of £M in his last few years playing. That would go down a treat in the Friedel household. He signed a contract didn't he?
AggyBlue Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 He signed a contract didn't he? We all know that means sweet FA.
67splitscreen Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 The Knives, are out, they've been sharpened, raised to a great height, all that remains is the final swish of the blade. Ince is dead. We ain't even kicked a bloody ball yet. Do us all a favour. Give the man a chance.

So you would let anyone go who was offered a deal by another club? Great ambition that. Let's become a feeder club for those clubs striving to play in the UEFA cup.

den Posted July 13, 2008 Author Posted July 13, 2008 Where did I say I'd let anyone go? Comment on what I post and not what you assume I mean. that's how it reads, unless you make Friedel an exception, in which case I don't follow that reasoning.
Parsonblue Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 Don't offer him improved terms, just turn his transfer request down. Goodness me, would we be the only club that's ever refused a transfer request? If he hasn't asked for a transfer, then there is no problem. That's OK with me as long as we do the same with Bentley and insist that he stays!
AggyBlue Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 that's how it reads No it doesn't. What I was alluding to was that denying him a big money move at such a late stage of his career will more than likely lead to an unhappy Friedel and family.

What I was alluding to was that denying him a big money move at such a late stage of his career will more than likely lead to an unhappy Friedel and family. Yeah, that's what you said. So by that logic you wouldn't keep any player who came to the manager and said they weren't happy. So this season you would let Friedel, Bentley and if he asks for a move - Santa Cruz move on? Unless that is, you consider Brad a different case because he's getting on a bit and needs the dough. There has to come a point where the manager says no-one is leaving. Especially when none of their contracts are near to expiring.
thenodrog Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 Be a mighty different result if the poll at the top of here was run again Id wager.
adopted scouser Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 Be a mighty different result if the poll at the top of here was run again Id wager. Talking to Paul Dickov on Friday, he couldn't believe the suggestion of Fowler on his way in and Brad on his way out.
Alan75 Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 Talking to Paul Dickov on Friday, he couldn't believe the suggestion of Fowler on his way in and Brad on his way out. Hes not the only one
American Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 Talking to Paul Dickov on Friday, he couldn't believe the suggestion of Fowler on his way in and Brad on his way out. Did you ask him the question we are all anxiously awaiting........ What exactly did he go into the store a couple of weeks ago to buy!?!?
S15 Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 Did you ask him the question we are all anxiously awaiting........ What exactly did he go into the store a couple of weeks ago to buy!?!? I thought we settled on a packet of Durex and a top shelfer?
AggyBlue Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 Yeah, that's what you said. It was posted as a response to something you posted (the quoted bit) and in no part does it imply that I woud let anyone go. Quote the bit where I say I would let anyone go.
adopted scouser Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 What exactly did he go into the store a couple of weeks ago to buy!?!? This was on Friday ... Store ? What you on about ?

RevidgeBlue Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 Talking to Paul Dickov on Friday, he couldn't believe the suggestion of Fowler on his way in and Brad on his way out. I couldn't believe it when Souness gave away Andy Cole for nothing and spent money on replacing him with a relegation specialist either......................
Billy Castell Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 So what are everyone's thoughts on Winterburn becoming our defensive coach? I can guess some people's response, but it may be a positive appointment. After all, the Arsenal defence were legendary, and he might be up to date with this seasons offside laws.

Our back four all had their hapless moments last season. and he might be up to date with this seasons offside laws. Maybe he can coach Benni, as well
rebelmswar Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 After todays news. In some dim office somewhere, Theno chuckles.
