Have to point out LD that Ince publicly admitted that he was trying to settle for a draw in those final minutes and not as you perceive to go on and win the game, the team went on to win it.

Great result though!

Very similar scenario to last season after RSC's bloomer led to Evertons equaliser.

btw I still fume when I remember MGP being booked for delaying taking a long throw in until Samba got into the box. How can waving a centre half into the opposition pen area in the last few minutes EVER be construed by a referee as time wasting? @#/? ref! <_<

I have only been on this site a matter of months but I am assuming that you had similar issues with the signings of Berner, Henchoz, Rigters, Jeffers, Enkleman, Savage and the direction in which Hughes was taking the club or are the issues reserved for Ince only?

You talk as if the 33 year old forward and the fourth division footballer are the only people he is pursuing!!

Chilean footballer of the year? i would argue this is one of THE most exciting potential signings that Rovers have made in years.

Andrews has spent most of his career in the 2nd tier of football and was the youngest captain ever for Wolves (but dont let that stop you from insulting him)

We sign Rigters, who does what exactly? He cost us £350K and we are now paying his wages whilst he plays in the Championship, but there is a problem with signing a premiership legend who will cost us money when he actually plays, I can see why you have a problem with this...

Only Franny Jeffers did I have an issue with at the time, didnt think he was upto it, the rest I knew little about to make a comment on.

Never said a negative word about the Chilean looking forward to seeing him play,I'm trying to temper my excitement at the prospect of watching him play football.

Re Fowler its not a progressive signing in any way shape or form, the mangers credibility is on the line, do you want the managers credibility damaged, I dont?

But if Andrews is a potential International footballer and Ince has sees that in him then Inces credibility is greatly enhanced and respect will be gained from the Blackburn faithful. What a big gamble though.

You're really scaping the bottom of the barrel now!

From what I've read you've done everything possible to destroy the managers credibility over the last few weeks, never mind damage it.

Fowler is an astute move, gets a quality option on the bench for zero outlay, and if Matt Derbs is going to make it then he will benefit massively from working with Fowler day in day out.

I know you must be still smarting from Saturday's win, and you'll be desperately hoping that Fowler and Ince fail (in order to give your own battered credibility a boost) - but actually it's time to give it a bloody rest re your constant jobes at the manager and his players.

Sorry Tris, your talking rubbish.

You'd know - you've been talking rubbish for weeks. And it seems most people have noticed.

T4E is very quiet isn't he - no sign of him on this thread since Saturday. Wonder why ...

Just support Man U JAL, you don't support Blackburn that's for sure. I suppose you'd still be whining and seeking to discredit Ince/Dunn/Vogel/Robinson/Williams even if we won the Champions League next season just to try and rescue some sort of reputation. What will be next? Ince's shirt the wrong colour?

We won. End of story

His suit looked a little on the baggy side if we're being honest, it soured the result for thousands I'd have thought. Despite this I'm prepared to keep him on for another week.

Common sense tells me that Ince does not want to waste money on any player. As a PL manager he must be inundated with requests from agents telling him that this player is superb, have a look at this one. It is a tough call which is why SHORT TERM the likes of Fowler and Simpson are excellent pieces of business because it gives him the chance to spend longer looking for potential players.

JAL- Have you seen Andrews play? I have not so will reserve judgement on him before this happens. The likes of Berner came with average CV's to say the least- how was a 29 year old Swiss bit part player going to push us "to the next level"?!

MK Dons say he has a brilliant engine and will do a "Savage" job for us, you cannnot condemn the player before he has played for us, a prime example is RSC, his record of 5 goals a season caused a great fuss but look what happened?

Someone on here jogged my memory regarding Andrews. He did play for MK Dons on BBC TV last season in a live tele game. To be fair to Andrews, he was superb that game. The commentators picked him out as being outstanding - and he was. He had an excellent game.

I'll wait and see.

Isn't it funny how the very same people that accuse those that they perceive to be "anti Ince" of being boring and repetitive are the very same people that continually drag those posters names in to discussions without bothering to make much of a point. I hadn't even posted on this thread before now, yet somehow I'm getting a namecheck.

As I've stated before, I am not anti Ince. I am extremely apprehensive about the way he has started and the stories that have been surrounding the club. I have no reason to be against the man himself, again, a point I have made before now. How anyone could think that those of us that have been publicly stating these worries would actually prefer Blackburn Rovers to lose football matches is totally beyond me. Absolutely barmy. Why would we feel moved to state how worried we are about something we badly want to fail?

Back on topic.

Great result, I'm absolutely delighted. Short of winning by 3 or 4 clear goals, this was exactly what was required. A rollercoaster game with a last ditch winner will unite the squad far more than a simple ground out 1-0 would have done. It sounds as though we played good football, which of course is a massive bonus. Another one in the positive column for Mr Ince.

On a side note, did Carlos warm up at all? How did he look? Over the illness? Also, why didn't Simpson play?

A big test next up. Under the previous two managers we've generally under performed in games that we should expect to win. I'm interested to see how we approach it under the new regime.

Nice one Tris. The above post could have been written in response to the above, two days in anticipation. Not that you're predictable or anything

I thought it was a smart move by Ince to put his signings on the bench at Everton. Sends a message to the Hughes men that they are getting a fair shake of the stick.

And getting Treacy into the action as well. Shows that Ince & co have the confidence and are prepared to give the youngsters a chance to play this season. I doubt Hughes would've done that, and especially against the likes of Everton as well!

You still don't get it do you? I don't think anyone has said nobody can have a negative view or criticise. However some of the comments about Ince from so called fans of the club have been nothing short of a disgrace. You in particular have been leading the way with some comments and despite being pulled up by several people you still see nothing wrong in what you have posted. Are you incapable of seeing anything wrong with your views or are you so arrogant that it's clearly everyone else in the wrong and not you?

I think Saturday showed us the shackles have been removed from our team and they all played more expressive than they did under Hughes. It is to be seen at the end of the season if this is a good thing. But it did make for great entertainment. Ince clearly trusts his players to do the right thing on the pitch, with the plan being to score goals and go foward.

Refreshing, but this cavalier attitude could mean we lose some consistancy.

Well happy for Ince more than anyone as he needed this start.

What exactly do you think I've said that is so utterly outrageously disgraceful?

You're making this in to something that it is not. It's not me against the World here Chris - there are some people that share the views, some that take it a lot further than I do, and some that are less vociferous. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, yet you seem to have a real problem with mine. I respect your right to that, you are incapable of doing the same in return.

T4E: "This has been the worst pre-season in recent memory, stories are rife of dressing room unrest and several things seem to back that up. There's no smoke without fire."

Yet another player supporting Ince:

http://www.blackburncitizen.co.uk/sport/36...rs_win_to_Ince/

I think the feeling is that Ince has not been given a chance, you could see the way the players played that they were united, the way they celebrated with the manager at the end and the comments BEFORE and after that they were supportive.

I think Ince has been vicitimised by the media and shamefully by a number of "supporters" which is why I feel you are getting some flak T4E (rightly or wrongly)

Whilst I may not agree with everything T4E says, I don't think he has said anything outrageous. There are one or two others who have posted outrageous comments, some quite deliberately designed to get an argument going but not everybody who has a differing opinion of Ince's appointment should be put in the same category as one or two idiots. I'll listen to those with a point to their arguments and when I think it's wrong or based on a false pretense I'll say so but I don't think it's right to castigate the person who made the comment in the first place.

Back to topic... Early days and too soon to say that Ince's appointment is inspired but the signs at the weekend were good. I like what he has said in recent press conferences and is it me or did he seem a lot more comfortable in front of the camera at the weekend? Good signs...

“It was no surprise, to tell you the truth, to see Roque score,” said the Rovers captain.

“He’s a quality player. It was a beautiful run by him and a beautiful finish.

“I don’t know why Roque would want to leave the club. He’s not going to go to a better team.

“He’s really happy here and I don’t know why he would want to go to a team that’s not as good.”

Print this off, pin it up all over Brockhall and Ewood.
