Sky Sports News are reporting that Paul Ince has confirmed to them that Aston Villa have made a bid for David Bentley. Earlier speculation suggested that Tottenham had also had a bid accepted but this has not been confirmed by Ince.

Interestingly Bentley was not involved in tonight's friendly.
