I'm guessing its a large bid judging on how we might take it. Either way, I'm of the opinion that anyone who isn't happy here should leave for the benefit of the club regardless of quality. Bad vibes spread and more players become unsettled. I can't find a quote for this but last week he Hull City Chairman said a team needs to fight for each other 100%, for me thats a fundamental element of any successful team.

Will you be revealing it in the 11 0' clocker Nicko? Sorry just realised you will.........

If something is about to happen to with Warnock as you would assume with a big twist, should he be playing in the friendlies?

Before all the doomsday people start - Olson will be our next left back, im pretty sure of that, he could probably do a good job if we were to recieve a very good offer for Warnock - £7m+ say.

Totally agree on Olson, I really feel he is not far off Warnock in standard. However there needs to be cover in every position nowadays.

So Nicko, does that mean we take Duff on part-exchange and use him as another left back cover whilst mainly using him in his striker/wide man role?

Interesting, very interesting ......

I've hardly seen Olsen play. I sem to rem he played at PNE last summer when no one knew who he was. You two have obviously watched him a fair bit. What are his strengths and weaknesses?

I've hardly seen Olsen play. Whats his strengths and weaknesses?

In my opinion he's a good athlete and has that natural attribute to get up and down the park. Quite a cultured player and comfortable on the ball. Good physical presence for a young left back and a calm demeanour.

Potentially a very high quality player but has yet to prove it of course.

Nicko - have you any ideas if Villaneuva joined up yesterday? And also have you heard if Robbo will be with the squad for tonights game?

Nicko has already said that Villaneuva is joining up with the squad when they return to England. I'm pretty sure JW did confirm this officially as well saying he will arrive in England on Monday?

Don't think its very likely that Robinson will travel down to Portugal today, only to travel back with the squad tomorrow. He'll probably join up along with Villaneuva on Monday.

Nicko, I have an unrelated question for you. Do you have any figures from the Daily Mirror which show that their newspaper sales have increased in the local area with your information? Just generally interested....

No, but the People had a couple of good days in the past few months when they did specials.

The Mirror don't blitz the place with 'bills' and posters like they should...that's the trouble with London-based newspapers.

You just have to rely on word of mouth.

It amazes me when newspapers talk of circulation falling and do little to blow their own trumpets.

Interesting Nicko, I thought that potentially with you able to give inside information that you are in fact a huge marketing tool for them in this area. I mean, if were honest, I do buy the Mirror/people when you freely give out information more so as a 'thanks' then having the will to actually read the whole paper lol

And a bit of Warnock news - with the mother of all twists.

I concur with those suggesting that Duffers could come into the equation; particularly if Ince has seen something in Olssen.

I understand that Warnock did some rehabilitative PR with the fans at Macclesfield, but for me he still has a lot to prove after his outburst after the departure of Hughes, not helped by the fact that he's just swaggered back in to the UK from England duty.

The same unsettling comments that obviously filled the void between Bentley's ears would surely have been aimed similarly at Warnock. He showed a real lack of respect for the people that pay his wages.

Maybe Ince has taken note and has decided contingency plans are in order Nicko?

Warnock back to Liverpool?

I'm banking on this. Supposedly Arbeloa's off and they'll need another fullback. I know Arbeloa's a right fullback, but he did play an awful lot at left fullback last year too.

WARNOCK - It's a big twist, not sure whether you would see it as positive or negative...will provoke some debate.

Warnock staying could not be seen as negative by anyone.

The lad spent at least 15 minutes after the Macclesfield game chatting to fans outside the ground and it didn't seem like he had any thoughts of leaving then, he seemed really happy with his lot and looking forward to an exiting season.

Prepare for the worst, how about a straight swap for Joey Barton? :o

Fair comment; but I'll put the spelling down as a Freudian slip.

I hope this isn't a trick question - are you talking about NEIL Warnock? Is he going to become our tactical coach? He'd be more useful as our 'sweeper' coach!

Maybe Ince will use him as a battering ram as fights his way to the dug out at Upton Park

Damn, you were too quick.

Seriously though, regarding your Barton suggestion; at some point he's going to settle down and become a decent CM.

Nicko just a question, thats not football related. Do the various journalists, ever meet up to discuss various issues? Or is it every man/women to him/herself?

There are a few 'packs' around who work certain areas and seem to live in each other's pockets. Not for me. I would rather be a desperado... There are also plenty of reporters I respect but I wouldn't want to be starting out now, it's not the same.

Why don't you just transfer 50p into nicko's account and read what he has to say on here instead ;)

You mean I don't get paid for this...

Did you ever have the pleasure of meeting the late Peter White?

Yup, good operator. The Jack Walker era came as a bit of a shock to him, going from days of poverty to big names arriving every other week. I can't say we were mates and often didn't see eye-to-eye but I think there was some mutual respect going around.

Just realising there are only three weeks to the start of the season - and looking at clubs who will need to sign players in an awful hurry.

MAN U - striker. ARSENAL - midfielder or two. CHELSEA - striker, possibly midfield, maybe centre half. LIVERPOOL - striker. SPURS - right winger, striker or two, maybe a centre half. VILLA - right back, maybe centre half, midfield, winger. ROVERS - right back, possibly two midfield, maybe right winger. EVERTON - right back, two midfield, striker. MAN CITY - keeper, left back, right wing, striker. PORTSMOUTH - right wing, midfield, centre half, left back. NEWCASTLE - left back, centre half, defensive midfield, extra attacker. SUNDERLAND - right back, centre half, two midfield, striker. BOLTON - left wing, centre half, midfield. MIDDLESBROUGH - central midfield. WIGAN - central midfield, striker, left back. HULL - centre half, midfield, striker or two. WEST HAM - centre half, possibly left wing. FULHAM - striker. STOKE - keeper, centre half, striker...at least. WEST BROM - centre half, striker...maybe more.

What other industry would swing into action with so much work still to be done? Madness.
