Fylde Coast Fan Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 Wilfred Bouma just suffered a HORRENDOUS looking leg break in their Intertoto game... his foot is about 120 degrees away from where it should be pointing. Looked like a hamstring injury for a while until the commentators on Setanta spotted the foot. So I guess that'll be Martin O'Neill in the market for a left back, to add to Portsmouth, Newcastle and Wigan..
chocky Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 You could see it pointing the wrong way.... Horrific break..
rebelmswar Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 Nicko do you think it will be likely that you can get an accurate price on how much Brad went for?
joey_big_nose Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 You rate Duff at 5M - 'cos in todays market Warnock is worth about 7M? That's what the Mags paid for him 2 long injury laden years ago. I like Duff, and maybe he can do a job, but we could drive a far harder bargain than that JBN. Remember, it is Newcastle we're talking about Fairr point, we could probably get him cheaper. I just think Duff can refind himself. There is the question of how much we need him though. MGP is obviously raring for the new season, Villanueva sems like a guy who could play on the left in a 4-2-3-1 or a 433. I like Duff but many other priorites - right back, central midfield, and I would probably try and get in an out and out target man before worrying about another left sided player. But he definately isn't finished as a top player.
novella Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 dont think it was career ending but it was as bad as eduardo's break. probably worse. he will be out for a long time.... i wish him a full speedy recovery.
roversmum Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 Oh dear, poor Bouma. Very best wishes to the lad, it won't be an easy recovery from that.
islander200 Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 Im not sure if this was mentioned yet, but does Hughes perhaps regret not sticking around at Rovers. The reason why im saying that, is that if he was stil our coach and with Quieroz leaving, hughes would most certainly have been SAF 1st choice to be his number 2.No way would hughes have gone as number 2
-foreverrovers- Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 nicko, could you tell me the colour of the ink that paul robinson signed his contract with?. also will carlos use the same pen,or will he opt maybe for a felt tip ormaybe even a wax crayon?
tony gale's mic Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 I see nicko hasnt commented on the Warnock/Duff rumours, pretty worried this might well be true.
brfcshabba Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 I see nicko hasnt commented on the Warnock/Duff rumours, pretty worried this might well be true. Or maybe he is not near his computer... Or maybe he can't be bothered anymore.
tony gale's mic Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 Or maybe he is not near his computer... Or maybe he can't be bothered anymore. I think he's posted since, and he often denies things if theyre not true. Would fit his description too... Wait and see I guess.
almuncle Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 What about Warnock out and good old Lucash back ...for a twist?
S15 Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 I'm starting to like this. Wonder if Billy McKinlay has kept his boots clean.
ffan Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 I'm starting to like this. Wonder if Billy McKinlay has kept his boots clean. Leave oour Billy alone.
Fylde Coast Fan Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 Bouma update... it's "only" a dislocated ankle. Still nasty, and it looked awful, but it sounds like he'll make a full recovery eventually.
jim mk2 Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 Emerton is possibly the fastest player we have and his ability to beat a fullback has never been in question. . Eh ? When did Emerton last beat a full back ?
mark1875 Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 just seen kevin keegan saying he is expecting two new arrivals next week. believed to be full backs? and people on here are suggesting one of these could be warnock?? surely not? please?
RibbleValleyRover Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 just seen kevin keegan saying he is expecting two new arrivals next week. believed to be full backs? and people on here are suggesting one of these could be warnock?? surely not? please? It wouldn't surprise me So if Warnock is sold will we be making a move for Dean Lewington?
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 Coco the flurkin clown would be a more apt buy.....ROLL UP! ROLL UP! FOR THE BIGGEST FIRE SALE IN FOOTBALL. On a serious note do you think Ince is that stupid/nieve to sell Warnock?
Paulsman Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 Keegan - "we went from Christmas to the end of the season with one left back and we'll get another one definitely!"
T4E Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 On a serious note do you think Ince is that stupid/nieve to sell Warnock? We'll soon find out wont we?
mark1875 Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 no i dont think he is. it wud be suicidal. newcastle bid a reported 2m, that is a long way off the true valuation of warnock. it has taken us a long time to find a new left back - since the days of graeme le saux. some people are suggesting damien duff in a swap? but judging by ince's praisng of pedersen last night - surely he must feel keeping a left back is more important than buying a left winger? and giving himself the task of replacing warnock? i can't see this happening
