Spurs are going to have to pay close to that figure...it sounds as if the manager has had enough of him by the chairman's quotes earlier about it being 'down to him.'

However the fee won't drop much from £17 million - if at all.

It's not an easy one to broker.

NICKO WHY ARE WE AFTER DARREN BENT . IF I WAS PAUL INCE I WOULD TAKE LENNON AND MAYBE ROBINSON AND 5 MILLON WE GOT BETTER FOWARDS THAN BENT AT THE CLUB ALREADY ANY NEW NEWS ON ANDREWS

Calm down fella, Where did you get the news about Bent from?

THe madness in his mind?

We cannot afford his wages or the transfer fee, and there must be fifty players in Europe who are twice as good and cost half as much.

On top of that Spurs look like they will lose their two main strikers.

The "new version" of this thread sure is awesome. So much easier to read! And relevant! [/sarcasm]

Change it back Mods - It's the only thing that makes sense.

If people whine about not being able to find Nicko's posts, suggest they use the "Search" function.

It's not complicated.

Alan is it true that we are showing interest in Greece full-back Vasilis Torosidis of Olympiacos? According to the Sun we are leading the race to sign him ahead of Newcastle.

Would be funny if we got him (quality player IMO) and Warnock told Newcastle where to go with there offer!

He is a very, very good player from what I've seen of him, seems built for the Premiership. He'd be the ideal sort of player for the right back slot; he's quite big from I remember but loves to get forward...a quick Google tells me he's only 23 as well.

Any sort of fee mentioned in there? I'd imagine him to be quite expensive.

4 million well spent IMO if we can get him. He can play, RB , CB, LB, LW, RW or deep defensive central midfielder...

Because Darren Bent is probably one of the most overrated players in the premiership.

How many times did he start last season?

And how many goals did he score?

I would rather have Marcus Bent back..................

I would say more over priced than anything.

He knocked in a few last season given the number of times he was given a game and the strange rotation Spurs seemed to play up front.

Bent is not a bad player and can score goals (he has already proven that) - at the right price he would be a good signing.

The guy who wrote the story for The Sun is also Greek...

I don't think this story is right. I don't beieve Rovers would bid £4 million for someone they have not seen.

There are other right backs being watched...it's an ongoing process. There are TWO potential right backs in the squad just now, but the manager wants a specialist one - so it's something he can take his time over.

Spurs want £12 million for Bent...which is about one '0' too much. No chance of that one unless the price dropped. Even then...

Do you know if Ince had a chance to form an opinion on Tony Kane? Is he one of the two full backs already in the squad that you mentioned?

Nicko is Nikola zigic set for villa and if so what price?Do you expect brad and bentley to be at new clubs by the beginning of next week?I also see the sun are linking city with zabeleta

Zigic could be moving on loan - with a couple of clubs interested.

Man City have your old pal Lucas Neill at the top of the right back list, it seems Zabaleta did not impress Sparky enough when he went to watch him for Rovers.
