Oh it's Christmas come early!!! Please tell me this is true Nicko?

5 people chasing the "Rovers Star". It just goes to show that nobody watches us these days.

The South African is keen to secure first-team football and has been linked with a move to Manchester City, where he would link up again with former Rovers manager Mark Hughes, as well as SPL team Glasgow Rangers, Dutch giants Ajax and Bundesliga club Schalke 04.

Are we facing a bidding war for mokoena?

arent we awaiting a work permit for castillo anyway?

ince said Castillo is good enough, but they need a little look at him. for sure that is to establish his language skills and find out if he klicks with the rest?

i'd say its a good move. neither rovers or castillo want to deal with each other if the chemistry between the players arent good.

Sounds like agents talk...the old 'ignore any stories with five clubs after one player' rule applies here.

You don't understand. You were supposed to say "yes, all true. A bidding war will follow which will result in Moko leaving for £8m". One can dream ;)

By the same token, whilst we haven't sold anyone, the two South Americans could be far from completed. We only seem to be taking a look at Castillo, and there are ownership issues to resolve, and Villanueva hasn't even linked up with the squad yet.

Villanueva will happen. Deal agreed, terms agreed, just the medical to do and the work permit which should not be an issue.

Remember that this deal is structured in a way where it is a loan and then a decision by December 31.

nicko, do you know who the 2 trialists were

My mole got his wires crossed...one was Castillo, who he didn't recognise...the other is the Bosnian who hasn't turned up yet - but was in the German papers.

Castillo has been playing in Serbia, so I don't think language skills might be it. This Villanueva lad will probably face bigger problems with the language, but Santa Cruz who also speaks spanish will help him.

Ok - thanks, couldn't remember which way round Castillo and Villeneuva were.

nicko, youve mentioned that osorio is being watched for the right back position, do you know who else is being watched

Yes, but I'm not going into naming names yet. I don't think they have decided on one.

Same goes for the right winger. You mention a name, they go for someone else and you look like a plum.

Nicko, why are spurs so hard to deal with?

Because they are...

Levy likes to win every negotiation, tries to stretch things out and complicate them.

Mind you, Rovers are being awkward in this too. If the Bentley price has gone up again that isn't going to make anything happen smoothly.

Frankly, it's a pain in the butt.

All this trial, no trial rubbish is deeply concerning. If the players come in good faith and find they've been 'duped' the chances of us doing this again is slight. As it's a policy which has served us well since Grabbi I think if Nicko's information is correct we're just being very stupid.

Anyone else think if you wanted a look at someone you'd play them a full game?

Also what is with this Fowler love in business - he will NEVER be as good as what we already have - is Ince related or does Ince owe him money or something?

Complete madness - He ain't up to it anymore Incey!

Id have thought that neither of them spoke English, but that happens pretty regularly with players coming in from Spanish, Portugese and French spoeaking nations, so with Santa Cruz there, I dont see it being too much of a problem, especially after 2-3 months.

Is there any update on Fowler so far? My guess is he's likely to at least give him a shot for 12 months or on a pay by play deal. What sort of wages would we be looking at to sign Robbie? Hopefully not too many zero's on his contract!!

Fowler did OK in his 45 minute run-out. He is liked among the group and obviously by the manager who talked him into leaving Cardiff.

I think there will be a deal for him if he does not keel over...

But I would imagine he would have to start one of the matches in Portgual to clinch it.

Interesting times.

Nicko, do you think Blackburn are going to have scouts over for this match to follow Osorio?

27.07.08 18:00 VfB Stuttgart : Saturn Ramenskoje

If he is playing...

Nicko, reports in Russia claim that Arshavin will be in London today to discuss a move to Tottenham, after the clubs agreed a fee. Surely this puts Bentley on the back burner.

Arshavin would be Keane's replacement...and a terrific one too.

Bentley still tops their list, but you do wonder for how long.

I think this situation is undermining Ince's credibility - Santa Cruz, Roberts, Derbyshire, McCarthy etc. must be completely bewildered by the real need for this fat out of condition injury prone rehabilitation item. Can anyone tell me he adds something - just one thing - (apart from bulk) that he adds to the squad.

Rant over.

youd bet on him 9/10 to score on a 1 on 1, jason roberts dosent seem able to do so

TALKED him into leaving Cardiff - I'm off again now look....

Most people need talking into going to Cardiff and get out asap (nice place though it is it is a footballing nightmare - he has nothing down there - his property and his wifes... ahem...'grown up peoples' shops are all up here as are his relatives. TALKED him into leaving - ohhh god!

It's a wind up this surely........

Oh right - Fowlers sheer pace and strength will get him into lot's of 1 on 1's then. He won't get near a goalkeeper in a one on one in the premiership .....hang on - you mean he's going to be like a US goalkicker....he runs on to take the penalties. He will be flattened by Cruz steaming in in open play he is that slow.

You obviously haven't seen the photos from Germany. There's not an ounce of fat on the guy.

But don't let clear photographic evidence get in the way of your prejudice.

Look at the last picture.
