Superior shooting technique and a great football-mind.

He is a goalgetter.

Supe.....that was six years ago and then Liverpool couldn't wait to get rid of him. This must be a wind up. He's the podgy fat lad now mate who get's picked last in the five a side..

I think this situation is undermining Ince's credibility - Santa Cruz, Roberts, Derbyshire, McCarthy etc. must be completely bewildered by the real need for this fat out of condition injury prone rehabilitation item. Can anyone tell me he adds something - just one thing - (apart from bulk) that he adds to the squad.

Rant over.

Finishing, there probably hasn't been a better finisher since the premiership began. If were losing with 5 or 10 minutes to go there would be worse things than bringing him on and telling him to stay onside and get as far up the pitch as possible.

Just out of curiosity, Nicko, you have several times described Spurs and Levy's negotiation techniques as being slow and hard to handle - do you see this as a bad thing, from Spurs' point of view, or do they get better deals by doing this?

Then again, I would be pretty tight too if I just bought Darren Bent for 17 million pounds ;)

Disappointed to see that Castillo isn't a done deal, he seemed like the right type of midfielder to bring in. I admit I am thrilled to see a player like Villanueva being signed - I can't really remember us signing anyone like him since... I don't know, Ardiles?? But Castillo seemed like a more safe choice, combining physical strength with skill. Let's hope they can pull both of them through.

Maybe he's trying to decide between Castillo and Andrews!! :o

You obviously haven't seen the photos from Germany. There's not an ounce of fat on the guy.

But don't let clear photographic evidence get in the way of your prejudice.

Look at the last picture.

Sorry take a closer look at the 10th from last, with gamst

if that's not a 38" waist line his shirt must have shrunk, with the sweat.

In 2005, Fowler was listed as one of the 1,000 wealthiest Britons by the Sunday Times Rich List. Business interests including a large property portfolio have resulted in Fowler becoming the third wealthiest footballer in Britain.

Maybe he is buying the club? At least I don't think Fowler is in it for the money.

No no no - it's big shirt - if you look earlier when he's side on with Gamst his beer gut is clearly visible and you can see both sides of him with Gamst breathing out. If he has lost a lot weight you can bet your life he will be taking another enforced 'injury break.'

Does it really matter? It's not like were signing him for his pace, all were doing is signing someone as a backup option incase of injuries and suspensions. His experience and ability in training can only help people like Derbyshire.

Yes, but I'm not going into naming names yet. I don't think they have decided on one.

Same goes for the right winger. You mention a name, they go for someone else and you look like a plum.

or, you mention a name, it comes off and you look like you know what you're on about.... :P

Yes it does - it says to the players look - this fat lad is better than you - and he isn't - the premiership is a different place than it was when Fowler was in his pomp. It undermines the managers credibility with the players which was my point.

I wondered if he might be looking to put money in though - Come on down Kate Moss!

Nicko are there any other clubs in for Bentley? Also Sunderland should conclude the deals for 3 of the famous four so that should help with a Bentley bid.

Not at £17 or is it £18 million...Sunderland should get Tainio, Chimbonda and maybe even earthquake-moving Kaboul shortly. That will bring in a lot of money for Tottenham.

So no excuses now in the Bentley bid. Although I am sure they will find some.

Yeah, Fowler, Castillo and Villanueva...all well-known names and remarkable guesses...

Maybe Spurs doesn't really fancy him that much?

Spurs offered £16.2 million - albeit with Robinson and a lot of installments. They fancy him. It's how much they fancy him.

Rumours going around about Villa and Kaboul, i don't even think Friedel could do anything with him in defence. Truly awful player.
