SWP's wages are too big for Rovers...mind you, a loan deal could work.

Harry had probably been told that by Kaboul's 'people' - I think Villa were sniffing but Sunderland's money is giving everyone else a problem.

And Sunderland haven't stopped with the Tottenham players either...

That's an 11 o'clocker plug, by the way.

Darren Bent..surely.

All Villa ever do is sniff, that's why our team is good but our squad is a bag of ######.

daily mail says sparky will pay 15m for roque

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...Santa-Cruz.html

Hmm? City have no money, so this will be some dodgy "sponsorship" based signing or full of add-ons and clauses. no thank you Mr Hughes. If Cruz does go I would expect it to be for more that £15m and it will need to be a cash payment - no paying in 12 years time.

If you check Man City's signings since Shinawatra came in most of them are foreign and HP payments.

The only one they did in the Premier League was Benjani and look at the fuss about staged payments with that one...it took so long it was finished OUTSIDE a transfer window.

I don't think they could find the £18-20 million for Roque.

Unless it prompts them to move in for Roque. An easy option for Sparky, I would have thought - if he can raise the dosh.

Doubt it - cant see them raising £20m for him. Unless they can find some sponsors of course :P

Roque has been talking about the season ahead so he seems quite settled. He hasnt said anything so far that makes it looks like he wants to go anywhere so i think he will stay. Working Hard for the season ahead

Interesting fact. At the end of the day (today), unless anything happens quickly, us (Rovers) and Manchester United, will be the only teamsnot to have purchased anyone during the transfer window in the Premier League. Every other club has...

Everton have rubbished reports they have accepted a £10.5million bid from Fulham for Andy Johnson. An official statement read: "Contrary to some media reports that have surfaced...the club can confirm that no offer has been received nor has any deal been agreed for Andrew Johnson with Fulham Football Club."

Comparing him to what we've got now and his affect on the managers credibility is my point.

Yeah, signing someone on a free as a backup (And he hasn't even signed yet) really stretches his credibility. If he can recapture his old form we have a useful player, if he can't then we'd hardly have lost anything. I really can't see what's so negative about it. Warnock for example has spoken about how Fowler was a good influence on him when he was at Pool, and that he's well liked in the squad.

I don't consider it to be great news, but I can't see how it's the end of the world either.

Everton have accepted Fulham's offer - but want to get a replacement in before they let him leave.

Fulham know that's the score, so do Everton, so do Wigan who wanted him too.

Now Moyes needs to find a striker.

Everton go to America at the weekend. Johnson pulled out of the game last night and won't go to America either.

It's up to the manager to get a replacement. Fast.

in all this transfer talk, is there any news on the possible takeover Nicko?

Not at the prices being quoted for the value of the club...

It's not the end of the world but if he really is such a good squad influence why did Liverpool make such an effort to get rid?

I have no idea. However you should note that I didn't say he was a good squad influence at Liverpool; I said that Stevie W said he was a good influence to HIM, and that he was popular in the Rovers squad (Although I suppose it could've been interpreted as Liverpool). Perhaps he wasn't a good squad influence at Liverpool, or perhaps the reasons for him leaving were unrelated to that. Either way, this is a new squad and a new management, they could be more or less compatible with him. We don't really know yet do we?

We are fcked if we lose Cruz....sick to ruddy death of hearing about OUR players being linked to other clubs, its soul destroying.

It was the same last season...it drives me to drink!!

Oh and Nicko, this is a bit of a weird one. Could you possibly find out if the rovers online shop will open before the jersey launch?

:D
