Have you seen half the donkeys that got work permits after appealing? Knew there was something going to happen regarding this transfer!

Have you seen half the donkeys that got work permits after appealing? Knew there was something going to happen regarding this transfer! It wouldn't surprise me that every other club has no problems getting a permit, but when it comes to us applying we don't get it. As far as i know he really shouldn't have a problem obtaining a permit.
RibbleValleyRover Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 Accepted a bid for Brad apparently from Villa for £2 million + £500,000 in add-ons according to sky. If its true Villa had upped the deal the other day what the hell did they offer in the first place?
bats Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 Accepted a bid for Brad apparently from Villa for £2 million + £500,000 in add-ons according to sky. Nicko, does this mean that we have agreed a fee for Robinson?
Tim Southampton Rover Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 Let's hope the 500k add on isn't for international appearances! Maybe the fact they've accepted means Robinson is on his way very shortly.
Plastic Head Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 If we haven't sorted the details of a replacement keeper heads should roll....
FeedTheHare Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 Rovers will probably let Friedel agree terms & things with Villa but won't sanction the deal until you have a replacement.

nicko Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 Sky figures are wrong...exact ones later...and the nature of the agreement between the clubs. NO deal for Robinson yet. Spurs being foolish - Rovers may have to go elsewhere. Rovers will probably let Friedel agree terms & things with Villa but won't sanction the deal until you have a replacement. That's a fair assessment.
roversmum Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 Thanks Nicko. I was just about to blow a fuse at that paltry sum for our Brad.
RibbleValleyRover Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 Spurs being foolish - Rovers may have to go elsewhere. Thats Spurs for you an utter scumbag of a club and its fans are numpty's. Let me guess they still want £6 million for that reject Robinson?
nicko Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 Thats Spurs for you an utter scumbag of a club and its fans are numpty's. Let me guess they still want £6 million for that reject Robinson? Levy wants more than he agreed with West Brom...installments etc. Mind you, Rovers did it to them with Bentley. This would drive you mad.
Head Rover Heels Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 Spurs being foolish - Rovers may have to go elsewhere. There's a 606 poster claiming (with support) to be in the know (i know, it's a contradiction in terms) that Spurs are trying to offer Malbranque, Robinson, a defender, plus cash, for Bentley and RSC. Maybe he does actually know something, and the offer is in the process of being ridiculed by our board as the insult it is? (Of course, it's more likely that he hasn't got the foggiest what he's on about)
blue/white Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 My apologies if I've alarmed anyone. I thought that CV story about the delayed work permit seemed absurb to me--how could that worse case scenario already be planned given the permit paperwork has only just gotten submitted in the past few days??? But it scared me because the story originated in a radio show who's host is a confidant of TV/ radio magnate Marcello Tinelli that pours $$$ into San Lorenzo's football operations. So while it might still be full of sh*te, very idea is a worry.

If the Robinson deal is going nowhere we should pull out and tell them Bentley aint going there either. We should be the ones in the strongest negotiating position not them.
ace Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 As I have to ask a question on this thread..am I allowed to say " Oh shyte!"?
Tim Southampton Rover Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 Kuszczak to Blackburn. Watch this space.
RibbleValleyRover Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 If the Robinson deal isn't in place then its puts us in a weaker position. With Brad off Spurs know we need a keeper, got a feeling they are going to try to shaft us big time. Plus if we decide to look elsewhere it could take us a bit of time to find someone else, time we don't have. I hope to god that the board didn't only just have Robinson in mind and that they looked at some alternatives.

Plus if we decide to look elsewhere it could take us a bit of time to find someone else, time we don't have. I hope to god that the board didn't only just have Robinson in mind and that they looked at some alternatives. Remember, we don't have to let Brad go till we've got a replacement. On a lighter note, is this where the goalie from MK we were linked with as maybe coming at the same time as Andres fits in?

With Brad off Spurs know we need a keeper, got a feeling they are going to try to shaft us big time.Is this too much of a theory? But going off "the fee is wrong and conditions are missing" (or words to that effect), maybe the fee is conditional (and breakable on both sides) depending on Spurs valuation of Robinson. I know it would make for an incredibly convoluted transfer, but it's the only way that i can see our stance being not weakened by this.
roversinmyblood Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 Nicko, assuming Bentley does go, are Rovers likey to sign somebody quickly i.e. have they got somebody lined up?

Well... we will have a figure and I am sure if they play stupid buggers with us we will just move on. Robinson for me is good value for money at 3.5 mill. Much more than that and he isn't so we can carry on looking. Freidal wil just have to be in suspended animation until that happens. six weeks till the end of the transfer window....
67splitscreen Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 With regard to work permits This is from a earlier post on CV thread. I thought Philipi would have stepped in when the debate started as to the above. So I have copied for you all. This is why it could be a slower process, than with previous applications. The old rule being the, played in 75% of international matches selected for, And the country must be in the top 70 FIFA world rankings. There has been a change in the rules last April. Anyone not qualifying as per the criteria will now be denied a permit (ie no more Ryan Nelsen's). There is no longer an automatic right of issue to anyone qualifying as described by 67splitscreen but the club applying has to provide a set of supporting documentation proving that the people they are applying for the permit fulfil a need not currently met within the UK and EU labour market. Rovers will be amongst the guineapigs in making their application under the new tougher rules.
joey_big_nose Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 Kuszczak to Blackburn. Watch this space. Decent shout if Ferguson really believes what he was saying about Foster yesterday. Good keeper.
