roverrus14 Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 Levy wants more than he agreed with West Brom...installments etc. Mind you, Rovers did it to them with Bentley. This would drive you mad. when you say mind you, rovers did it to them with bentley does this means spurs have given up on him???
Grabbi Graeme Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 Nicko, assuming Bentley does go, are Rovers likey to sign somebody quickly i.e. have they got somebody lined up? Step forward Bert mk 3 SSN just catching up in stating that the Brad deal is subject to Rovers signing another keeper first, Dave Jones saying in his opinion it was going to be Paul Robinson, wonder where he got that from.
67splitscreen Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 Decent shout if Ferguson really believes what he was saying about Foster yesterday. Good keeper. Is Foster not injured. Would SAF go into the new sesson without a No2 and No3 injured?
mark Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 Nicko, this has probably been answered earlier in thread but can you confirm, was Friedel told we wanted to cash in or did he genuinely want to leave for Villa?? Seems insane that he's going and Robbo is falling through!! Not happy. Possibly knee jerk but i'm beggining to worry about Ince... Lord deliver us and save us.
imy9 Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 Nicko- Could the Brad announcement be a ploy by Rovers to force Spurs' hand. Think about it, we confirm that Brad can go but our bid needs to be accepted by another club, does the bid have to be for Robinson?

islander200 Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 nicko do you know if rovers have any other irons in the fire regarding the gk situation,do you think we would have a chance with cudicini or is he happy where he is?
cn_barlow Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 There must be other keepers on the list should Robinson fail to go through. What about Boruc at Celtic? Would've been my first choice from the beginning.
nicko Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 BRAD - The fee IS agreed subject to a replacement coming in. The clock is now ticking on Tottenham...if they don't sell Robinson Rovers will go elsewhere. Rovers did NOT leak the story to Sky - that wasn't a tactic. ROBINSON - Price is a bit silly, but you could say the same about Bentley. ALTERNATIVES - One or two names being mentioned, but I suspect these are smokescreens...Robinson is still the number one choice. ps...sorry for the mistaken first message...one of the pups pressed the keyboard...I train them well.
nicko Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 Boruc is class but would be to expensive £12 million...which is why Villa dropped that idea to go for Brad.
67splitscreen Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 This one surfaced again just a couple of hours ago. It could just be nothing, who knows, but he has only 1 year left on his contract. Bolton Goalkeeper Refuses To Rule Out Exit http://www.goal.com/en/Articolo.aspx?ContenutoId=788373

Hi Mack Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 If Cudicini was bought it would be the most stupid transfer ever! Not as good as friedel and not one for the future! would be very happy with either Robinson or Foster!Still puzzled that Big Brad is ACTUALLY going!

I would be amazed if Man U let Foster go...but I would take him on loan if they did.

I disagree regarding cudicini he would be relavtively cheap and is a good keeper i think he would do a good job for a couple of seasons
thenodrog Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 Could never expose that Rev, could one, but i was extremely disappointed when i heard it in fact very very disappointed. Hardly a suprise to hear that imo.
roverfanuk Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 Is Foster not injured. Would SAF go into the new sesson without a No2 and No3 injured? He played yesterday. Made one hell of a stonking save over his head as well... Very Friedelesque! If we pay anymore than 3.5 million for Robinson, i wont be happy, having said that, i wouldnt mind if we bid 6-7 million for Foster!
67splitscreen Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 Goal.com again...why would Bolton sell him? why would Rovers want him? Good question. Same reason Any club sells a player. Rovers need a keeper. He has always done a good job when I have seen him. Good enough for Rovers????. I would think Steel will have quite a bit of input, into our final choice. Maybe we will find out in the 11 o clocker.
thenodrog Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 Levy wants more than he agreed with West Brom...installments etc. Mind you, Rovers did it to them with Bentley. This would drive you mad. Wouldn't drive me mad at all. I don't think either deal or indeed any deal should be permitted until the new manager beds in andwe have a good number of points on the board and thats final. Pratting about with all these ins and outs / unsettled players / half arsed sub standard replacements etc etc is putting our Prem place on the line! And I am not bloody joking.

I have a lot of sympathy with your post.
LeChuck Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 Step forward Bert mk 3 Wouldn't it be the return of Bert Mk 1? Mk 1 = Right midfield Mk 2 = Right back Mk 3 = Centre Midfield I was really hoping to see Mk3 for the next four years, I'll be very worried if it's a return to Mk1... Edit: I wish Spurs would just hurry up and give us a decent cash + Robinson offer and get this whole saga over with, we can't properly plan properly for next season until it's all resolved.

Not like you to over exaggerate There hasnt exactly been a mass exodus of players has there. And how can you comment on their replacements if 1 - they havent left yet 2 - their replacements havent been signed?
