Billy Castell Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 So is it a done deal? We need some good news for once.
Hughesy Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Its all agreed and he will join up wednesday - just awaiting work permit. As we are for Castillo
jny Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6dLE_ypOGM&feature=related Don't know if anyone has posted this but, this is almost certainly the best comp
rebelmswar Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 He does go down alot The first tackle any English ref would give a free kick for. The second he would be in for a good shout on that one. Held back for sure on the third, yellow card given. Didn't go down on the fourth. Fifth was Vinny Jones like and any English ref would give a free kick for. Sixth was a bit of good character acting but that is now his fourth free kick within shooting distance of goal and three yellows for the opposition. Four yellows. I have to mention the amount of decent balls he throws into the box, Santa will be eating these up.
Frisky Jim Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 I have to mention the amount of decent balls he throws into the box, Santa will be eating these up. If he stays, of course.
Mc Love Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 He is going to be like Ronaldo in one case, as some footballers will like to put the boot in on him!
67splitscreen Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 So after all these videos. We take him on loan. What's Ince playing at. (good move) If he's doing this in games in Chile. Imagine what he's going to show case in training,(feel sorry for nelson, hope Samba decides not to take a swipe at him) and Portugal. I'm sure we will be parting company with the rest of the money, on the 31st of December. Work permit permitting.
LeChuck Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 Lifted from this LET article about Castillo. "The club need to secure a work permit for Villanueva, who plays for Chilean side Audax Italiano, but a Home Office hearing may not be necessary as Rovers are working on a process whereby the player will automatically qualify for a work permit. " That sounds very promising, I was beginning to worry that the work permit thing would be an issue but that suggests it shouldn't be the case.
JAL Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 In the Express today is claims that Rovers were not Villaneuva first or prefered choice as he wanted to play in Spain.
Amo Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 In the Express today is claims that Rovers were not Villaneuva first or prefered choice as he wanted to play in Spain. Tough titties.
philipl Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 In the Express today is claims that Rovers were not Villaneuva first or prefered choice as he wanted to play in Spain. That is excellent. If Dirty Desmond's make believe rag is printing a storylike that then we can be confident that Villanueva is delightedto be joining Rovers rather than being in Spain somewhere.

Hope your right it just seems one negative after another at this moment in time.
Drakefyre Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 It's well-documented that he was excited to play for Real Sociedad until that transfer fell through. Sounds like old news.
ACM Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 Got this in the web page of Chilean radio "Although tramitations to get the working visa have taken longer than expected, Villanueva awaits peacefully for their solution to fly to Europe to join new club, Blackburn Rovers. In the meantime, he keeps on training with A. Italiano. He expects to fly to Europe on Sunday, although yet without known destination, as Ince's team is in Portugal on preseason work. According to his declarations, once the visa matter will be solved, everything would be fine and the loan can be signed" Hope it helped
BRFC95 Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 Hope your right it just seems one negative after another at this moment in time. Not from the club though, only from the press in general. We all know we're not media darlings.
QOTSA Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 Villanueva has now received his visa and will fly to Portugal later today to join up with Rovers. Hurrah! Expect an announcement from Blackburn shortly.
joey_big_nose Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 Awesome news. Can't wait to see him charging down the inside left. Clearly a tricky player but adds one vital ingredient for us - Pace!

Hughesy Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 Any source that backs this up? Can nicko shed any light?
ACM Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 It's been confirmed by Chilean press The player is flying to Portugal today at 11:20 Chilean time
LeftWinger Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 Awesome news. Can't wait to see him charging down the inside left. Clearly a tricky player but adds one vital ingredient for us - Pace! Does he have pace though? The wikipedia article said something about playing alongside quick players.
joey_big_nose Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 Does he have pace though? The wikipedia article said something about playing alongside quick players. Well he looks pretty quick on You Tube...
Tim Southampton Rover Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 He might not have great pace over 50m but he's got quick feet and a quick brain which is often what beats the opposition.
