DingleBaiter Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 think you will find ole Pineapple has been explained to how likely he is to be starting/subs for the first team, plus also to blood him more in the reserves primarily while he gets his fitness & lingo up to speed. A key factor other than these two parameters will be having a more defensive/tougher/water carrier (such as Grella is supposed to be) in the side IMO. I would expect Carlos to play tonight against Man Utd (a) and hopefully to have another tougher game like he did against Bolton; clearly most people desperately calling for him to start didn't see him struggle in that game, or else they'd have a somewhat more reticent view about calling for him to start. Everything comes to he who waits, no?

67splitscreen Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 No I dont think so either; what makes you think I do? The three I mentioned are (going by the wording used in all their posts) quite clearly not Rovers supporters; more like Rovers most implacable enemies. We all have opinions, which we are entitled to air, I personally have issues that I am not happy with, having aired those views however negative, I always try to find a positive view, After 40 odd years of supporting Rovers through thick and thin (without blue & white glasses) I'm a Rover till I die, and as such will always show my support. The following view is not directed at any one in particular. Implacable indeed, they are the worse sort, they are from within, there supposed to be fans. United we stand--------------------
waggy Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 carlos is not in the stiffs tonight,so he has to play his part on saturday
DingleBaiter Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 carlos is not in the stiffs tonight,so he has to play his part on saturday Or he's injured! Maybe he's acclimatised to our poor climate and he's now got heat-stroke with our recent somewhat improved weather?
dingles staying down 4ever Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 carlos is not in the stiffs tonight,so he has to play his part on saturday Probably bench warmer!
RibbleValleyRover Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 Early days yet, and i doubt he is fully match fit but Carlos looked impressive when he came on. The guy is a real flair player, what a ball to Roque and he could have scored a couple of goals with some long range shots. Early days, but i think we might have a real gem on our hands.
joshbrfc Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 The ball to Santa Cruz today, for the goal, was great! Chuffed for him, lets see what else he can do in the future games
dr_awol Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 am happy Carlos had a good sub apperance, it seams he could be what rovers need.
walk down bolton road Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 Just a message for Ince GET CARLOS IN THE TEAM.
roversmum Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 Love that little guy already! Got a bit of character to him as well as looking like a real find!
Billy Castell Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 He might become our Le Tissier, although I hope he doesn't eat as many pies. Well Matt was giving him loads of praise on Soccer Saturday.
thenodrog Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 He might become our Le Tissier, although I hope he doesn't eat as many pies. Well Matt was giving him loads of praise on Soccer Saturday. More like he might become our new Duggy for those that remember! Le Tiss was twice as big as Charlie.
Billy Castell Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 Le Tiss was of my generation, and I've never seen Duggie. Carlos may, just may become a fantastic skillful player, and be a talisman just as Tugay has been.
John Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 Ince said: "Carlos gives you that little bit of flair and he was unlucky not to get us a second goal. That's why he's here. But he's been in the country for two months and he's still learning English. Carlos needs to get fitter and adjust to the Premier League. But he gives us something different and he'll get us where we want to go."
AussieinUk Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 Based on his two appearance's so far in the blue & whites, surely he must feature against Everton on Wednesday? I (as well as many others) have very high hopes for this chap. Keep it up Mr Pineapple
Hughesy Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 Got a very good reception when he came from the bench and changed the game when he came on. When watching him, I saw a very young Tugay, but with more skill and more trickery. Did anyone see the pass when he did a dummy, kicked with his foot to go right, but kind of sliced the ball and sent it to the left to Roque? That was a very clever pass. His pass to Roque was top notch, and he won at least 3 or 4 free-kicks in the short time that he got. Very impressed, early days, needs to get fitter, but very promising.
CrazyIvan Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 I agree, Carlos helped change the game. The substitutions were well timed and well executed. Tugay to Carlos to Roque to Derbs and we score, you really can't get much better than that. The little fella looks different class and he runs EVERYWHERE. You can just tell he plays with a smile on his face and loves it.
Montfort Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 Can hardly contain my excitement at what he could do for us. We have already seen some magnificent Champagne moments from him
imy9 Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 Dont say it too loud but Carlos is an Ince signing
92er Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 Dont say it too loud but Carlos is an Ince signing Absolutely-did he find out about him from U Tube or was it agent recommendation after the deal with the 2nd Division Spanish club fell through? I suspect the way to develop him will be to use him as a sub whilst he builds up his strength.
67splitscreen Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 i think we should be keeping in very close contact with the agent.
T4E Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 I don't think all of our dealings with that agent over the Summer were as good as the Carlos deal.
67splitscreen Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 I don't think all of our dealings with that agent over the Summer were as good as the Carlos deal. I thought he was the only one, seem to remember (maybe Nicko) saying we asked for a similar player to Valencia.
Eddie Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 The story was that we asked for a similar player to Zarate.
