Really? Someone needs to take Pedersen to one side then.

Technique, makes a big difference. also stride frequency, lenght, power output all contribute, now whilst they can be improved there are limits, so increases are possible. But you couldn't turn pedersen into a 100M sprinter.

SAQ work with several premiership clubs, Parisi work mainly in the NFL but are used by almost all of them.

He looks a talented player but its going to be difficult to make an accurate judgement given the current circumstances.

If playing in a decent formation we could utlise his strengths, however with so much chopping & changing with regards to the tactics, this is unlikely to happen.

In Ince's interview on Radio Lancs today, he didn't sound totally sure he was going to sign Carlos-I guess it'll be in papers tomorrow, but it was on the lines of "he's a young lad finding his feet, it might be different if we were mid table". Now I might have got the detail wrong, but the Radio Lancs fellow drew the same conclusion as me.

So, don't go over the top in criticising Ince, but be prepared for more details to follow.

I think it is sensible- would you spend £5 million on a player who is not a first 11 player, when it could be spent on a right sided player- a priority position?

Ince sticks his foot in it once again! In other words, his one attacking signing is no good to us because he's dragged us into the mire after being a consecutive top ten team. What is the answer then, Ince? Mokoena & Andrews? I bloody well hope not, because you'll never play 'good football' with them two.

Also, why is the Carlos deal and a new right winger mutually exclusive?

The general consensus is that it's not £5 million to keep him, that figure includes the loan fee and wages already paid for him (about £750k each). It will only cost around £3 million to keep Villanueva. Having said that, I don't think he's worth either figure at present.

I think it's more a case of "we need a battler now", rather than waiting and hoping he comes good. He isn't gonna flourish while we are scrapping away anyway.

I am not saying we should keep him, but we did spend £4 million on Grella, so £3 million for a player who can potentially 'unlock the door' and get better in time may be an ok price??

But Ince shouldn't be signing "battlers" as that would not fit in with the quality football he wants to play.

If we didn't need other positions sorting out so desperately I'd agree. At the moment though Villanueva doesn't solve any of our problems, until we get pace and movement out wide and up front then he's not really going to have a chance to use his creativity.

I wonder how open his club would be to extending the loan for the rest of the season for a small fee? I think that would be the best way forward for us at present.

He's here til the end of the season anyway Le Chuck. Rovers have to decide whether to buy him before January.

Oh okay. In that case I'm a bit confused.

What happens if we don't decide to buy him in January then? Surely there's nothing to stop us making the deal permanent in the summer, I doubt he's done anything to make any other clubs want to jump in on the deal. The usual way loan deals with a set fee for a permanent transfer work is that the buying club have the option of making the loan deal permanent at any time during the loan contract.

It's very odd that we have to make that decision 6 months before his loan contract is up. How is he supposed to motivate himself for the last 6 months if we decide in January we don't want to keep him?

I assume Le Chuck, that if we decline to take him permanently in Jan, then his club would be able to sell him to someone else. Of course, if nothing happens along those lines then everything else is back on.

I also assume that we can only to guarantee to buy him at this fixed price if we buy him in December.

Yep, I think so. However at the end of the season if he's not been sold to anyone........... I still wouldn't be interested!

I Agree with LeChuck.

Just let the loan deal finish and take it from there...no one is going to snap Villanueva anytime soon.

Blackburn needs a winger...someone that can open the defense a bit more and add some 'vertigo' in the last quarter of a Blackburn attack. These don't come cheap though...and then there is still the question weather Ince would know how to use one.. -_-

Making Villanueva's transfer permanent won't happen in January, not from the amount of games he's played. December might bring him closer, but we haven't even found his best position - it certainly hasn't looked like we've been playing him there anyway. (Grimsby, perhaps?)

Keep him on, if we need another loan signing we can send Simpson back to Manchester. Let's see in the summer.

Where does Incey's sacking leave this little fella?

I personally feel he'll be going back in Summer. Been disappointed by him after all the hype surrounding him, but hope he does get a chance to have a consistent run in the side and prove to play a vital part in the remainder of our season!

Nice left foot otherwise nothing that suggests he can make an impact. We need impact players not an occasonal cameo contributor. Let the agents hawk him where they will.

Lets not be hasty. The new manager will have ideas about how to use him so there is a chance that he could stay. When will his last day at Rovers be? 1st of Jan? 31st of Jan? Frankly we are so short of creative players I want him to stay to see if we can make better use of him.
