Thought this might be interesting to do.

What was your first car?

Which car do you aspire to own that is within reason?

This was my first purchase for 350 pounds, it was listed as spare or repair and I fixed her up. Mine was grey though but C reg just like this one.

first car was my grandmother's old 1990 Ford Tempo, drove it for 2-3 years, sold it for $300, 2 weeks later the guy we sold it to called my dad and told him that the brakes had caught fire.

Currently driving a 2005 hyundai elantra

honestly, my "dream car" is either a smartcar or one of those "tatas" in India. I'm all about good gas miliage and something that gets me from point A to point B. Would go for a motorcycle if I could get over the fear of not having some protection for other cars on all sides.

Oh, I was a trendy young thing at 18.

My first little car was called 'Ethel', and she was just like this one.

Oh well that didn't work. it was going to be a mini van - for those old enough to remember the original mini van rather than the modern day name.

Oh gosh, I remember well the scooters of the '60s. Myself and fella at the time went through the whole lot of them! He was at Uni at Oxford and He used to drive between Oxford and Swindon and back most weekends. Those days used to get pretty foggy at times and we often led a convoy of cars safely between the two. Eventually he learned to drive a car and we upgraded to a yellow mini!

Nice bike, SAS.

Paul, how could anyone who was around at the time forget the mini-van??????

Getting quite nostalgic now.......................

 Mainly in I bet!

I enjoyed that car, a C reg in grey. My brother in law had a black C reg at the same time.

The off metallic gray was the colour I had, equipped with 4 highly bright spotlights on the front and those snazzy pepper-pot alloys.

I've gone way backwards and then forwards.

The first motor I owned was a Honda C90, one of them "step-through" motorbikes.

Passed my motorbike test & went out and bought a Honda CX500, then upgraded to a Kawasaki GT 550.

Then prenant wife complained that a motorbike was not a suitable mode of transport.

OK, you can get all Jeremy Clarskon about a car but unless you've done Grane Road in August on the way to Ewood on a GT550 you've never lived. You really haven't.

Had to sell it. Something parked outside with four wheels. Bored 541tt355.

I'll get back there one day.

Yes please I fancy a drive in a rx8 - pick me up Bodrum bus station Friday before 1st home match

Mine were.... the good the bad and the ugly....

Triumph Herald (cost me £70 - chassis collapsed 6 months later)

Ford Anglia (blew engine at Whitebirk)

Morris 1100 (sold for scrap)

Works Ford Escort van

Another works Ford Escort van

Vauxhall Viva

Ford Granada (for towing a caravan I'm ashamed to admit)

VW Golf

VW Golf GTi (one of the first imported into UK - super car)

VW Scirocco

Peugeot 205 GTi (magic roadholding - loved it)

Peugeot 205 GRD (for economy used to drive to Nottingham regularly)

Peugeot 405

Another Peugeot 405 (ex demo model with every conceivable extra)

VW Golf GTi 16v

BMW 325i (cam belt broke in 1st week and smashed cylinder head - repaired under warranty)

BMW 320d (nice car)

Works Ford Escort Estate (1.6 non turbo diesel - probably worst car ever - couldn't pull you out of bed)

Works Vauxhall Astra Estate

Ford CMax (my 1st one over here - used for airport runs)

Opel Astra Sport (I like - 70K kilometres in 3 years and no problems)

Incidentally over here cars do not depreciate like they do in UK - I had the Ford CMax for 2 years - paid 30000 for it and sold it for 27000 with 60K on the clock. I paid 31000 for the Opel Astra Sport and with 70K on the clock it's still worth 25000 3 years later.
