imy9 Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 This is probably the best place to talk about Robinson now that it is not a rumour but an official signing! http://www.rovers.premiumtv.co.uk/page/New...1351438,00.html

Bing Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 £3.5m is too good to be true really. Williams is a canny operator but I can't see him stitching Levy up that good. We'll probably take a few million off the Bentley fee now, knocking down Arsenal's cut and making us better off in the process.
sparky12 Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 haha quality just seen it on SSN i guess that meens bye bye friedel officialy
islander200 Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 I shed a tear that this means brad is gone thanks for the memories big fella.Hopefully robbo will become as much a legend as brad,if robbo plays to his full potentian i believe we have signed englands number 1
John Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 Great deal potentially I reckon. Good price. Welcome Paul, Englands number one!!
Mr Creosote Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 Having been gutted about Freidel this has helped to salve the wound. Sure, he's had it rough recently but I think that goes back to Zagreb which was a bit of a freak incident. Spurs is hardly the place to rehabilitate. He's a basically a good, sound keeper. Rovers could be the ideal place to rediscover his belief in himself as we are hardly consistantly in the media glare as we all know. Once he does we have ourselves a very good keeper.
frosty Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 Sorry to see Brad leave, but Robinson is a very good replacement. Probably the best we could have got anyway.
Hughesy Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 Great Business. £3M upfront and a further £500k in add-ons if Nicko is right. Very good business - very happy and at his age, the price is fantastic.
cn_barlow Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 considering all the bad press Ince is getting on here, Paul Robinson is a very, very good first signing. I hope the others match up
bonerdude Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 welcome robbo.....hope you rediscover your form and become a legend like brad....
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 THE KING IS DEAD LONG LIVE KING ROBINSON! A massive thanks to Brad and some wonderful memories of his time at Ewood
sparky12 Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 a quality peice of buisiness to say villa are signung brad for 2 million we are gettin someone who is 9 years younger for only 1.5 milli on more a huge thanks brad for 8 great years wow its going to be wierd next year on radio rovers with brads name not being on the team sheet
ThatRabbitsDynamite Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 Thanks a million Mr. Friedel!! The very best of luck to you!! Welcome onboard Mr. Robinson, you're gonna love Ewood!! And now the dam has been opened. Its about time. Its been dry and hot.
DeadlyDirk Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 Happy with the news, good value for money if he can recapture his old form.
leftfooter Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 Just think how broad Robinson's shoulders will be as he walks into Brockhall for training. He knows he was the only choice for us, and despite some hiccups, the club made it clear that they would hold out for him. Added to that a 5-year contract; probably just the vote of confidence he needs. As for Cerny keeping him out of the Spurs side last season: politics pure and simple. There were scores to be settled by the board and the new manager. That probably says more about Spurs as a club than it does about Robinson. Who was interested in Cerny at the end of the season? Certainly not Spurs.
vintageadidas Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 Great deal.........very happy! Softens the blow of Brad leaving! Good luck to both. Brad = BRFC legend forever.

Certainly not Spurs. exatly right robinson would have been tottenhams 4th keeper next season if he had stayed because they have know gomes and tony warner so that means that cerny wil now be 3rd choice keeper so it shows how much spuds really wanted cerny. all he was is a replacement for robbo
Greenall_David Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 We will soon be singing " Englands number 1, England englands number 1!!" I'm over the moon, it's going to top my nite of! I though the worse was to come wen i heard frideal wanted out! best replacement you could ask for! :D
1&OnlyRover Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 hes got a better goal scoring record than brad too
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 Great move- only another ten out field positions to go. Football management is easy - get good players gradually replace them with excellent players, get excellent players gradually replace them with stars, get star players gradually replace them with world beaters. We are obviously following the Kiddo/ Roy Boy route !

DanLad Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 I'm sad to see Brad go. A true Rovers legend! Good luck! I'm pleased that Robinson is his replacement. Always rated him really highly. Quality keeper coming into his prime!
ThatRabbitsDynamite Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 Thanks to Mr. Williams and all who had a hand in getting PR on the Rovers!! Good job!
Ninjathunder Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 Good signing for Ince, once we were resigned to losing Friedel. Form is temporary, class is permanent.
baxendenblue Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 Well done Incey - great first signing. Hope people stop slagging him and get behind him Super robbo Cheers for everything brad
