Mr. E Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 Things are bad Mr E... But going off your ridiculous posts, you and Jan would make the perfect couple. I bet Christmas would be great at yours. Robinson is the only decent thing that's happened to us. 19th place decent enough for you? As I said, the defence is sh*t, but they are the same players from last season. All 5 of the clowns at the back are responcible, and Robinson deserves the blame as much as everyone else. This is what happens when you sign players who have failed both their club and country - they fail even more.

grizfoot Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 We could have Petr Cech or Neville Southall in his prime in our goal this season and we wouldn't have anymore points. If anything Robbo has been our best player this season.
Presty On Tour Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 From what I've heard about Mark Bunn, he could be installed as our number one sooner rather than later.
Mozzer Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 paul robinson has probably been paul ince's best signing nearly all the goals he has conceded he could have done nothing about its the defence he has in front of him..its a laughing stock..
Mr. E Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 Nope! Which is why I'd rather get Allardyce in now to sort it out. I haven't been overly-enamoured by Robinson, but I think he's been a good signing for us considering the other available tat goalies out there. Are you seriously blaming Robinson for our 19th position? If not, please explain why you asked me this (yet again) ridiculous question. and how exactly is Allardyce going to sort out Robinson and the defence? "Right lads - more serious this time, eh?" What magic tactics exctly is he going to bring to transform these players into something decent? I really don't see a solution coming from the manager, whoever he is.
Hughesy Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 From what I've heard about Mark Bunn, he could be installed as our number one sooner rather than later. Why what you heard? Robbo has not been our problem at all, our defence has been pants and our midfield is weak.
tony gale's mic Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 and how exactly is Allardyce going to sort out Robinson and the defence? "Right lads - more serious this time, eh?" What magic tactics exctly is he going to bring to transform these players into something decent? I really don't see a solution coming from the manager, whoever he is. Thats funny because one manager made us top 10 these last three seasons. And Allardyce made a substandard side a top 10 side for a good few seasons. So really, you're wrong.
modes98 Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Robinson is a quality keeper. Maybe if our defence actually stopped players getting through one on one with him everytime, he would stand a chance. Some cracking saves from him this season and no howlers. A couple that he maybe could have saved, but that's the same for every keeper, including Cech.
alexanders Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Yes Robbo has been quality and couple of mistakes, but what keeper doesn't? I has to be a slap in the face trying to gain back ur confidence and then see an average of 3 goals behind you every match
Bobby G Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 I think the whole defence needs a shakeup. I didnt even notice Nelsen playing last night. He was missing... I think Robinson will come good for us, but there are some goals he concedes that I always say to myself Brad wouldve saved that...
Billy Castell Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Are a lot of these goals we're shipping in down to Paul, or just the sheer crapness of our defence and midfield in doing their job?
Rover down South Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 I think the whole defence needs a shakeup. I didnt even notice Nelsen playing last night. He was missing... I think Robinson will come good for us, but there are some goals he concedes that I always say to myself Brad wouldve saved that... Thats because Brad was the best keeper in the league, still gutted he left.
Paul Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Are a lot of these goals we're shipping in down to Paul, No!
thenodrog Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Damn I was wrong way back then! 2 is nowhere near enough these days. What a bloody shambles we have become. Just like to point o ut that I was not referring solely to Paul Robinson but rather to the team as a whole when I posted the above. PR is obviously no Freidel but he's OK on the whole.
stuwilky Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 and how exactly is Allardyce going to sort out Robinson and the defence? "Right lads - more serious this time, eh?" What magic tactics exctly is he going to bring to transform these players into something decent? I really don't see a solution coming from the manager, whoever he is. Yeah, I mean, they've been absolutely appalling with pretty much the same personnel for the last few seasons.
Presty On Tour Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 Why what you heard? Robbo has not been our problem at all, our defence has been pants and our midfield is weak. Another clean sheet and a good performance from Bunn tonight, he's been excellent since he's signed though is learning all the time. I like Robbo, he's made some amazing saves and has not been helped by the players in front of him. We haven't won a league for ages and are leaking goals in left, right and centre. 3 at the weekend and 5 on Wednesday. I'd say he's pushing hard for the number 1 jersey.
Damage Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 Robbo has not been our problem at all, our defence has been pants and our midfield is weak. Sorry Hughesy but you have got the wrong villains there! Dont blame the players ........ Our team selection has been pants Our tactics have been pants Our fitness has been pants Our motivation has been pants Our ambition has been pants Ince has a lot to answer for but really he is just the patsy! John Williams should be totally embrarrassed by this situation. If he doesnt have the bottle to fire the manager before midnight sunday then he will have to reap the consequences! Does he work for BRFC or does he work for the faceless people in Jersey? Is he a "yes" man or does he have his own mind!? I suspect that he is a yes-man egotist desperately trying desparately to smile!
The Prof. Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 Though Robinson is a great shot stopper he is dividing opinions on here. I don't think Rovers will stay up with him in the net because he's lacking technically . Every high ball caused Ewood to hold it's breath yesterday. He's had super support yesterday but looks a nervous as a cat with fleas. I blamed him for 2 of the goals. He's made a sound defence into the worst in the league. Add to that the 80 yard punt from every backpass - anyone see the look Nelsen gave him on about 80 minutes - and he's first out under a new manager for me. Think we need to spend heavily on a replacement or give Brown a run.
imy9 Posted December 7, 2008 Author Posted December 7, 2008 IMO Robinson is a good signing by the club, the people in front of him are letting him down and the reason he is not coming for crosses is probably because of a lack of communication between him and the defence.
hawkiiz Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 robinson is great and wil just get better. bringing him to ewood was brilliant business.
jonv Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 what a pathetic topic. robinson has been great for us this season and on many occasions has kept us in matches. his name is within Englands calling and he is 10 times the shot stopper everyone saw at spurs. the whole team is down with confidence at the moment and nitpicking players like this is only going to compound the situation. get behind and cheer loud
joey_big_nose Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 Don't understand this at all. you could argue he is not quite as good as Brad but he has done extremely well. Our keeper is the last of our problems!
Hughesy Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 robinson is great and wil just get better. bringing him to ewood was brilliant business. Don't understand this at all. you could argue he is not quite as good as Brad but he has done extremely well. Our keeper is the last of our problems! Agree with these two. Need to sort the defensive problems and the midfield also need to support the defence better. Robbo has been great so far and is improving with each game.
Hasta Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 Robinson is a decent keeper but is not anywhere near as good as Brad was when he was at Ewood hence the problem
joey_big_nose Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 Robinson is a decent keeper but is not anywhere near as good as Brad was when he was at Ewood hence the problem Some of his saves yesterday were world class and he did not make any mistakes. What do you want?!?
