Hughesy Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 Hughesy, always better to use stats for games that the player has actually played in lol Sssshh! Of what iv seen of Bunn - I wouldnt recall him. Of what iv seen of Brown - id of sold him last summer Of what iv seen of Fielding - iv been impressed and think he has a much brighter future than the other two!
bellamy11 Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 Sssshh! Of what iv seen of Bunn - I wouldnt recall him. Of what iv seen of Brown - id of sold him last summer Of what iv seen of Fielding - iv been impressed and think he has a much brighter future than the other two! Hand on heart, which of the three would you want going into the lion's den on March 28th? I think giving somebody like Frankie, who is a decent - but not exceptional - young keeper his debut in such a situation is suicidal.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 Any idea how bad Robbo's leg is? We need him for the 28th.
LeChuck Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 Bunn will return on Wednesday... Good news, we can't play Brown again.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 Er LeChuck. Bunn will be the sub keeper. Hence Big Sam saying this is giving Brown a chance to 'show what he can do'.
braddock Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 i like brown just don't let him near the steering wheel of the team bus i thought he was poor for goal that went underneath him but these things happen. i thought the goal from the cross was a lot more difficult as he came to claim it but then it looked as though the attacker was going to get to it so he had to cover part of his goal and not fully commit himself. it wasn't great keeping but had the man at the back post been marked it could have been dealt with. not the best of games for him overall but to say he shouldn't be played again after that is very harsh. he's no beast.
Parsonblue Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 Fielding is our best ressie keeper and should be recalled and thrown into the mix now. You obviously haven't watched a great deal of Fielding for the Reserves Hughesy. He has had some awful games this season for the second string and I speak as one who has seen all the Reserve matches so far. Brown and Bunn are far better than Fielding and from what I've seen of him so far this season, I would put Jake Kean ahead of Frankie. Fielding may mature into a decent 'keeper, but at the moment he continues to make the same mistakes as he did when he was with the Academy.
Hughesy Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 Bunn will return on Wednesday... Cheers for that nicko.
JAL Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 Why didnt Bunn make it into any england youth level then? Bunn has been inconsistent at Sheff Utd Dont for one minute think that if you've played for England at youth level then your better than anyone who hasnt Hughesy FFS. Bunn older, more experienced, playing at a higher level two levels higher than Frankie, surely this suggests the pecking order.
92er Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 Now that we are recalling a keeper currently out on loan, any injury to Brown, or a rethink by the manager, could see Dunn and Bunn in the same line up.
DanLad Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 A friend of a friend told me that it's quite a serious injury and that Robbo wil be out for up to 12 weeks!
den Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 A friend of a friend told me that it's quite a serious injury and that Robbo wil be out for up to 12 weeks! It looked very serious to me. When a calf goes to the extent that you can't walk on it, you're gonna be out for quite some time. I can believe your friend.
modes98 Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 Bunn will return on Wednesday... Brilliant news. I just hope someone keeps showing Sam a replay of that 2nd goal until he drops Brown.
The Harwood Yankee Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 Brilliant news. I just hope someone keeps showing Sam a replay of that 2nd goal until he drops Brown. It doesnt mean he'll play - we need a reserve keeper on the bench. I suspect Sam will start Brown, which is not good news against a team like Chelsea who have players throughout the team unafraid to test a dodgy keeper. Robbo may have his detractors on here but I still maintain he's possibly the worst player to lose for the end-of-season run-in, given the calibre of replacement we have on hand.
FourLaneBlue Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 Last week the hero, this week the Villian. Another week in the life of Blackburn Rovers Says "Sam is two games from the sack" Hughesy You couldn't make it up what goes on in this board...
Muddboy Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 I Sam has half an ounce of common sense, he'll play Bunn ahead of Brown. I saw a lot of Bunn when he was at Northampton and he was simply awesome. I think if he's given a chance, he'll really shine at PL level. Crikey, he can't do much worse than Brown did at Spuds! It all went rapidly downhill after he made the first two saves...
Balwer Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 As soon as Brown came on the crowd started booing him. When I met up with with my Spurs mate after the game he said their section was singing 'You're just a fat Timmy Howard' I feel for Brown but I was there on Saturday and he did not have a good game. Not only the second and third goals but a couple of times he got caught in no man's land. No authority. I would much, much rather see Bunn in goal but I think it's Brown's to lose sadly.
G Somerset Rover Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 As soon as Brown came on the crowd started booing him. When I met up with with my Spurs mate after the game he said their section was singing 'You're just a fat Timmy Howard' I think we're really going to miss Robbo. Brown just doesn't fill me with any confidence and can't command his area because of his height. Bunn for me. The thought of Drogba challenging Brown in the air makes me shudder.
Muddboy Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 I think we're really going to miss Robbo. Brown just doesn't fill me with any confidence and can't command his area because of his height. Bunn for me. The thought of Drogba challenging Brown in the air makes me shudder. Bunn's only a shade taller than Brown but is able to control his area because he's in trim and can actually jump in the air. Sorry Jason, but you'll never be an agile keeper with that build.
Pedderz0912 Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 This is a tough one for me also but I think in such a big game v chelsea and then big club and then dingles this could really effect us - I think we should start with brown just simply cus of higher experience for wales, played a few times for us against UTD and some derbies such as wigan so i would go with Brown ahead of Bunn - JUST. If he then doesn't prove himself I'd ship him out in the summer and have Bunn as number 2 and frankie 3.... Big miss robbo tho - was in my top 4-5 for player of year
Hughesy Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 Says "Sam is two games from the sack" Hughesy You couldn't make it up what goes on in this board... You cant surely believe he had long left if our winless run continued?! Fortunatley for all he turned it around and got the dressing room back, pulling in one direction and results picked up!
bennyboyt11 Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 Hopefully Bunn will see this as an opportunity to show he's ready for the reserve keeper position next season, and even challenge Robbo to the number one shirt.
