Majiball Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 James has to play if he's fit. Don't know if you saw Hart at Ewood Maj, but he's a flapper on crosses. He was all over the place whenever rovers put him under pressure. I did see the game and your dead right he did flap about, but he had the best season of all of the English keepers for me. I'm not 100% that players would get away with putting him under the pressure we did that day as the ref's are a lot softer abroad. At the end of the day as long as Green doesn't play anymore as he's a liability, James had a cracking FA cup final performance so should really be ahead of Green.

Presty On Tour Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 I've been watching the darts and Phil Taylor said in his interview after his semi final win that he had been speaking to Paul Robinson after he remembered his name and called him England's ex goalkeeper. He Told Phil he has lost 2 stone and is going to be the best goal keeper in the world.
Majiball Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 He Told Phil he has lost 2 stone and is going to be the best goal keeper in the world. I told my dad, I was going to be an astronaut once.

According to Taylor Robbo is as 'fit as a monkey' whatever that means.
Ricky Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 Robbo has been called up to the England squad tonight. A couple of months too late but at least Fabio has corrected his howler and dropped Green and James.
Mike Graham Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 Fabio the tosser, Robbo should have been in the squad full stop, if he was at a London club he would have been in, but Fabio is a blind useless wonker. :!:
Mr. E Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 Robbo should decline the call-up. Capello does not deserve to have good players in his squad. Especially when he didn't even pick them for South Africa, when it was obvious to anyone with half a brain that Robbo is better than James or Green.
roversfan99 Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 Is there really any need to call up 3 goalkeepers for a friendly? And i bet Foster will be chosen over Robinson...
rebelmswar Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 Robbo should decline the call-up. Capello does not deserve to have good players in his squad. Especially when he didn't even pick them for South Africa, when it was obvious to anyone with half a brain that Robbo is better than James or Green. Although I agree and understand your thoughts, I doubt he would ever do that. I feel Robo is a model professional who takes pride playing for England. It was obvious how devastated he was with the error. The England goal will be much safer with him in between them. Good job Copout its better late than never, hope Robo shows him how stupid the ignorant decision was.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 Could be a great opportunity to grab the number 1 spot for the qualifiers and then the tournament (if we get there!). Obviously Hart will start in goal against Hungary but if he doesn't get first team football, whilst Robbo has yet another good season between the sticks, then Robbo could then become first choice.
DanLad Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 I can't see any advantage to the Rovers in Robbo playing for England. I think I'd prefer it he hadn't been selected.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 His confidence would be high if he was regularly selected for England. If he's playing whilst at Rovers then he wouldn't leave to another club to get England honours. IF a team does come in for him then it would have to be a big fee if he's England's number 1. I feel proud watching England When a Rovers player is playing. When Ripley made his debut against San Marino, he set up 2 goals! Brilliant feeling despite us getting knocked out in the qualifying round for USA 94

Brilliant feeling despite us getting knocked out in the qualifying round for USA 94 His confidence will go through the floor as the press will slaughter him, again. Playing for England is more likely to get his head turned or send his agent into overdrive. Remember Bentley? If a team comes in for him we will be expected to roll over and let him go cheap as the England goalie shouldn't be playing for a club like Blackburn. I'm talking about Robbo, not Ripley or anyone else.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 I'm talking about Robbo, not Bentley Whatever happens, good luck to him!
DanLad Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 I'm talking about Robbo, not Bentley Whatever happens, good luck to him! LOL! Fair enough! Whatever happens, good luck to the Rovers?

Brilliant feeling despite us getting knocked out in the qualifying round for USA 94 Well apparently Ripley is the 9th worst England international ever.. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1212524/THE-LIST-10-1-worst-England-international-footballers.html - Especially love the line at the top 'You have to wonder how some players were paid to kick a ball let alone be given the honour of playing for the Three Lions' - Thats our championship winning winger right there..... - Oh and Robinson is apparently the 34th worst ever England player, because of that bobble in Croatia.
DanLad Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 Shows how much the Mail knows then... I actually thought Ripley played pretty solid for England when he had a run out. In any event, they didn't exactly do a very good job of justifying his in the ten worst, did they? Edit - And I thought the Robbo was very harshly treated re the bobble. Just one of those things, IMHO. Inconsequential compared to James littany of rushes of blood and gaffes.

And with their front pages being a hotbed of racist nonsense, there's no excuse to read the bloody thing at all.
BuckyRover Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 This is nothing but a good thing. Is Ray Clemence still in the England team?
philipl Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 Unfortunately, the Mail has always regarded as having a go at Rovers and our players a free hit.
Waggy76 Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 He has pulled out of the squad this morning. Good news for Blackburn Rovers..
BigNuts Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 Good time to quit. Get the call up after missing the WC and then say thankyou very much. Wasn't wanted when England had their worst 3 goalkeepers in years. Fair play to him.
