Cheers nicko So he is good enough for Arsenal and Wenger but not good enough for Ince.I think i know who"s judgement of a player i would prefer and it"s not Paul Ince.

If Asenal blow £1.5mill' on a player and he turns out to be crap it's simple the case of, OH DEAR, never mind! Rovers can't aford to done that.

Just seems very very tight from upstairs...either that or Ince isn't confident enough to go for permanent deals, if he is willing to risk on Andrews then surely Annan.

Why can't you? When it's as cheap a pricet as 1.5m, then the odds are even if he is crap you will recoup such a small amount from a foreign team who would put it down to him not settling in England or something. If he's an international for Ghana you'd always have found someone who'd either equal or at least very nearly equal what you paid.

Regards to the debate going on about the number of loan players a club is allowed to make!

last season birmingham brought the following players on loan:

Wilson Palacios (Olimpia)

Borja Oubina Melendez (Celta Vigo)

Johan Djourou (Arsenal)

this would suggest to me maybe Nicko is right (again). unless there has been a rule change - one of which we would all know about?

Not good enough for us but good enough for Arsenal Colbert?

Yes, No one is that bad at Looking at Talent. Ok he is going to go on trial/sign for Arsenal, doesnt mean he is good, everone makes mistake, Look at Bently in the opposite way. Arsehole didnt realise his talent did he??

Lets just have some Faith in Ince, I sure it will all come Good!

People who keep on justify everything that Rovers do just mystify me. Seriously there is no excuse for not signing Annan and potentially choosing Andrews instead and you dont need to be a football expert to say that either...Now whether the board is to blame or Ince, thats open to debate cause we dont know everything...

did'nt le arse sign jeffers and wright and stepanovs...he ain'nt exactly midas. If he signs kofe it just means he'll join the ranks of the youngest most expensivelly assembled reserve team in football, not everyone turns out to be patrick viera.

Arsenal knew he had talent but he just wasnt good enough to break into their team at the time and they didnt want to stand in the way of his development. Thats why they put a 50% sell on clause on him, not cause he "slipped out".

I have to be honest and I'm a little disappointed if we don't sign Annan because he sounded exciting but that was all it was, sounded exciting to me, based on no evidence.

The majority of us have never even seen this lad play before, the ones that have seen him have only seen him a few times. Ince has had a chance to look at him up close for a good few days now and has obvoiusly decided he is a bit of a gamble. He may also decide to go back into him, perhaps if other targets are not available. In the press it was reported we were happy with how he had done on trial but maybe it was more of an easy answer to a reporters question, they were hardly going to say he's been rubbish so far were they.

Now Arsenal have been reported to want him on trial which apparantley isn't an option, it's a case of buy him or don't buy him. Now Arsenal may well take a gamble because 1.5-2million might not mean much to them, a club like us can't afford to waste 2 million on a gamble.

Sure Wenger has made some great signings but don't forget the likes of:

Francis Jeffers 8 million!

Pascal Cygan

Igor Stepanovs

Richard Wright - 6million!

Jeremie Aliadiare to some extent

Among others I'm sure

i think they did realise his talent when they slapped a massive sell on clause on him.

I think you might need to admit defeat mate.

Wenger is one of the best managers in the world at spotting young talent, if he thinks Annan is good enough to sign him then Annan is good. Not even Ince's biggest fan (which is in fact ince himself) would think that he is better at spotting talent than Wenger. If Arsenal sign Annan then Ince will have made a massive mistake.

Were we looking at a simple loan, or a loan with a view to buying?

Perhaps he's in a huff because his wages will still be the same as at his previous club, and he wants a boost.

I can't believe this one has slipped out of the net, he was making all the right noises and seemed to desperate to join up.

Missed the boat on this one.

Nicko, the Mail are saying villa are looking at Santa Cruz, Any truth in this? It states Blackburn turned down a £10m bid

http://www.mailonsunday.co.uk/sport/footba...z.html?ITO=1490

Can't imagine it being true, I think I'd find the Ashton rumour more believable than a RSC one. Not that I'd say no to either, but we're looking at huge money for either and Blackburn prob a lot more reluctant to sell than West Ham.

IF we sign Andrews and Not Annan then il be writing a letter of complaint to JW personally.

I would be very suprised if this is the case. Maybe the chant at the game tomorrow should be 'We do not want Keith Andrews'

Pussy footing.

You can stick keith andrews up your arse,

You can stick keith andrews up your arse,

You can stick keith andrews, You can stick keith andrews, You can stick keith andrews up your arse, Incey.

I wonder if the Arsenal thing is a little contrived - not saying Nick is wong - but maybe Annan and his club are putting around rumours to push Rovers a little.

Ultimately if Ince is saying I want to get the very best for our money - then I would be fine with that. Where I struggle with that argument are the continued rumours around Andrews. I can't believe that Andrews can be any better than what we currently have. Lets be honest - and if anyone close to Ince ever reads these pages - this is the single rumour that does the biggest damage to his credibility in the eyes of many Rovers fans. Without the link to Andrews - the rumours of the problems with Annan would not be viewed half as badly.
