PAFELL Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 Ince Out! Why - because a player says he wants out - not a lot ANY manager could do about bentley. The players head was turned and would not be turned back. Yet you say Ince out - without ANY justification. The season has not even started yet - at least give him a chance - first.

Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 I daresay he's haring about with the Bentley stuff. Or typing.
neophox Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 If we get £15m+ for Bentley it would be a superb sale! He isn't an England regular.
nicko Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 BENTLEY - Deal will happen with Spurs. The fee is going to be close enough to £17 million to keep everyone happy. Both the chairman and the manager wanted rid by the end. He has been playing up - the boss wants the money for players, the chairman was getting fed up with the uncertainty. It is a lot of money for a player with flaws. But now it's about how it is spent. PENNANT - Seems to be top of the hit list, but surely only if the price is sensible. INCOMING - Sounds like a few trialists coming. TARGETS - Defensive midfield maybe, right back certainly...maybe the chairmans remarks are a way of cooling down the Breciano story, Rovers WERE at the game - but just as much to watch the Eintracht Frankfurst right back Ochs...more than a coincidence. BUDGET - Well, now we will see. There should be £7 million clear for Bentley plus what was already there...looking forward to the sell-on clause being confirmed shortly. FIELDING - Young keeper wanted by Chesterfield, likely to happen. TOTTENHAM STRIKER - Arshavin is coming. The fee is £19 million which makes it one-for-one with Keane. A decent choice.
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 I'm not blaming Ince for this one, Bentley's obviously the sort of guy who'd cut off his nose to spite his face, no point hanging on to him. Just get the money.

incy wincy little spider Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 I wonder if we will have the biggest 'war chest' in the U.K. now:) Will we use any to write of previous debts? This must be good oppertunity for the trust to balance its books
neophox Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 Around £17m for Bentley is nice! Our season can no begin! Thanks for the superb update Nicko! Has Bentley been at White Hart Lane today?
nicko Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 By the way... Bentley to Tottenham...Robinson to Rovers...Friedel to Villa. All in one Mirror story on July 14 - and all denied on Sky TV later that same evening. Aye.
ace Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 JAL ..hearsay and innuendo has a nasty way of promoting cynicism and despair. Just remind me why Rovers have recruited Tim Howerd (Sp?) the sports scientist to supervise late night drinking sessions and "sit-up" training sessions?
bringdunnback Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 What about the news on Robbie nicko, also is Bents having a medical tomorrow?
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 Let's hope the money will be spent wisely, I repeat of the Kiddo, RoyBoy purchases and we'll be in the same position.

This must be good oppertunity for the trust to balance its books Uh no. We had 10 million or so. Then we get 7 million to spend immediately from the Bentley sale (I think that's what Nicko meant), giving us a grand total of 17 million. So we won't be outspending anybody in particular.

mark1875 Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 anything on warnock? what about carlos villanueva?
nicko Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 What about the news on Robbie nicko, also is Bents having a medical tomorrow? Apologies...he is down to play a full 90 minutes at Northwich Vics tomorrow with the reserves. He has only played bit-parts so far, so this is probably a crucial night for him.
DingleBaiter Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 cheers Nicko Let's hope Bentley's injuries clear up sharp-ish to pass his medical. Have Spurs got the money set aside to clear, just in case the Arshavin (or any other deals they've in the fire) get upped at the last min? Any news on the reserve coach coming in yet? Bryan Robson spent some time in Port with Incey didn't he? cripes......
Roversboy1972 Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 NICKO ANY NEWS IF ROVERS WANT ARON LENNON AS A REPLACMENT FOR BENTLEY THEN
incy wincy little spider Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 Uh no. We had 10 million or so. Then we get 7 million to spend immediately from the Bentley sale (I think that's what Nicko meant), giving us a grand total of 17 million. So we won't be outspending anybody in particular. Not many teams have close to that amount. Except Man u and Chelsea. Spurs dont once Ashervin is in. Things worked out pretty well for us with Bentley
nicko Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 NICKO ANY NEWS IF ROVERS WANT ARON LENNON AS A REPLACMENT FOR BENTLEY THEN Well, Rovers had the chance in the Bentley talks...which is why I think Pennant is top of the list - but nowhere near past the post.
Sandiway Blue Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 NICKO ANY NEWS IF ROVERS WANT ARON LENNON AS A REPLACMENT FOR BENTLEY THEN Turn the volume down a bit! Nicko do you think there will be other possible right midfield targets that haven`t been mentioned?
