Majiball Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 Watched the Birmingham game today. Poor game but I was concentrating on Larrson and the lad has quality. He has the ability to beat a man like Pennant but also his end product is very similar to Bentley's . It may not be as good as Bentley's but there is room for improvement. He would be a fantastic signing in my opinion. How quick was he?? has he got good initial acceleration?, also when he beat his man did he take the instant oppurtunity or look for a better one? Sorry for all the Questions.

G Somerset Rover Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 Regarding Larsson: Why don't we try getting him here for the statutory weeks trial?
67splitscreen Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 No need for Ince's No. Nicko just drop into the paper tomorrow with a big, BIG headline. LARSSON TO ROVERS
Roar of the Rover Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 How quick was he?? has he got good initial acceleration?, also when he beat his man did he take the instant oppurtunity or look for a better one? Sorry for all the Questions. He isn't the quickest of wingers by any stretch of imagination. However, the ability that Bentley had was he could pull out a cross from tight situations is the same kind of ability Larrson has. When he beat his man on one occasion, can't recall many others, but he did whip in a beauty straight on to the head of Carsley I think it was, but shame he couldn't finish. On other occasions his range of passing was also very good, linked up well with the full backs and drifted into the middle when he didn't see much of the ball. Didn't look to cross on every oppurtunity and had the awareness of other players around him. Could be a very good signing if we get him. Regarding Larsson: Why don't we try getting him here for the statutory weeks trial? Maybe ask for a loan deal later?
alexanders Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 I see that Kightley scored for Wolves today. I think he is going to become a Rovers player before the window closes.
G Somerset Rover Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 Maybe ask for a loan deal later? Ssshhhh!...Our cover as Ince and Mathias could soon be blown!

I liked him saw a lot of him in the conference, he was head and shoulders in that league.
den Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 Well let's see now....is it called let's insult American? No. I don't think it's that. You tell me Den. Get with it Fife. The question was in relation to your post asking that potential transfers are kept absolutely silent. Isn't Nicko telling the world about rovers targets, - how can the club keep that quiet? BTW, "silly old fool" is an old lancashire term of endearment, just as I'd call you a silly old fool Fife. - even though I've no doubt whatsoever that you're a fine, elderly gentleman.
EwoodGlory Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 Kightly is the the one I would go for, then Pennant, then maybe Larsson
1864roverite Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 Corluka really is a good player, I'd say one of the best defenders in the world. On what evidence do you base that thought my friend ? He is NOT and will NEVER be one of the best defenders in the world, maybe in Croatia but NOT the World.

Its funny how different area's have sayings that other area's find offensive. In West Virginia and (from what I've heard) Burnley, "Go feck your mother" is actually a complement and a ponder worthy suggestion.

Yes Den but you still gave me 250 lines for no good reason. Doh! I mean 25% However to answer your question. Tell him nowt! Or alternatively.........shoot him!
leftfooter Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 desparately hope this has nowt to do with us but vassel may be on the move, his uncle charlie lives near us, but it was only a passing comment by him but considering inces love of past it strikers. on a side note nicko how much can i sell a story for, as vassells uncle is about the nicest person you could wish to meet but has been barred from 2 pubs for laughing too loudly, Some sunday rag could make a front page headline from this. Vassell carried to the dressing room today at Eastlands, once he's limped off the pitch.
Roar of the Rover Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 Thanks, Lastly defensive qualities, work ethic??? Defensive qualites aint the best, very short lad so not the best in the air aswell, has a very good work ethic though, if he loses the ball he'll run to get it back, not as good defensively as MGP but nonetheless a very good player. Would be delighted if we signed him.
cruz Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 You'll be joining Philipl in the nut house if you think we have any chance of signing Corluka... Too right. He was the worst full back I have ever seen in all my 33 years

nicko Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 LOANS - Checked out with a Premier League chairman and a leading scout I met at a game today...foreign arrivals are classed as international transfers and NOT loans - even if the player only comes for a year...THEREFORE you can sign as many as you want from other countries but only TWO within England. GAP.CLOSING? - Not on today's evidence at Sheffield Wednesday. Mind you, there are two ways to close a gap. 11 O'CLOCKER - Some news on the midfield situation - and might as well name the striker.

Is that your way of saying Rovers are gonna get relegated Nicko So when is Andrews signing or is there another name being linked with us? Just a random question Nicko, have you ever made a story up? Most other Journos are full of crap and make up a load of sh*t most the time. Wondering if you had ever done that?

Wondering if you had ever done that? Of course...every day... Anyway, far more amusing. Man City in total turmoil. Corluka has been recalled from Tottenham - where he went yesterday - because Shinawatra wants more money. This guy does not know the rules. Ireland will be sold in the next few days too. Not sure Sparky has done the after-match press...he must be wondering what to say about this mess.
thenodrog Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 Not sure Sparky has done the after-match press...he must be wondering what to say about this mess. Not this I'd wager! "I had a fantastic time at Blackburn," said Hughes. "It was difficult on occasions with the amount of finance available. "There was a limit to how far I could take the club and it's a case now that I'm at club that can match my ambitions."

Said he was backing out of 50/50s!Maybe this might make them look at selling him!
brian_gallagher85 Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 Stay well clear of Ireland, the lad is a nut job!!!! Can't wait to see the fireworks with Keane when/if he goes to the North East
