Offering to take over Elano's contract and outstanding transfer payment obligations is a deal the City accountants would probably find very attractive at the moment.

Last season Thaksin twice had to borrow off Wardle to pay the wages. No Wardle any longer - wonder if Sparky is regretting chucking all the hangers on out of the training centre? Perhaps one of them might have been able to pay his wages one month.

desparately hope this has nowt to do with us but vassel may be on the move, his uncle charlie lives near us, but it was only a passing comment by him but considering inces love of past it strikers. on a side note nicko how much can i sell a story for, as vassells uncle is about the nicest person you could wish to meet but has been barred from 2 pubs for laughing too loudly, Some sunday rag could make a front page headline from this.

if annan (against all odds in the world) goes on loan for more than this month, he will most likely (98%) stay with stabæk. why wouldnt he? whoever fancy annan should splash the cash sooner rather than later. imagine his value now, and after a few impressive games with stabæk in the uefa-cup. if anyone want to sign him they should do it now and save a few millions.

SIGNINGS - Andrews is THE priority...Paul Ince wants him and wants him this week...I think this will happen.

ANNAN - Due in at Arsenal this week, but his current club Stabaek have a European game in midweek - so Wenger needs to act fast. I think he is now off the Rovers radar after the 'loan' suggestion.

STRIKER - Watching Nicola Zigic at Valencia. Found out by accident. Stoke City went over to do the deal with Valencia and were knocked back, my Spanish source tells me they were informed that Rovers are the main rival...but only want him if Sunderland make a big offer for Benni. Hear mixed reports on this guy. He is huge, but some reckon he woud make a better basketball player. Still, it's not for me to judge. Rovers watched him play as a sub at Newcastle today. Don't know if he got on. Would have been hard to miss.

ROQUE - NO bid from Villa. Yet.

MAN CITY - Like I say, carnage.

Nicko, we was linked with Zigic start of last season - any ideas how far this went? Was it more that he's keen to come to Premiership (isn't everyone?).

If Andrews is such a nailed-on as you've always said, what's the problem with the deal? I don't buy into the board (or whoever) being all considerate of our feelings, and dissatisfaction - gives em too much credit! If they worked like that we'd never have bought Matty Holmes - even his own cousin said he was crap - and we'd just won the freakin title then....

On Zigic, however, I do actually feel that the fella would bring something a little different to what we already have. That looks like an interesting proposition if we can get him at the right price.

Roque HAS to stay, there is nothing the management of the club could say to convince us otherwise.

Zigic is attrocious. If true, it just compounds with the Andrews possible signing as indicating that Ince and his pensioners are totally out of touch with the modern Premier League.

Vagner Love is by far the better of the two Brazilians who are/were star forwards in Russia (Joe was the other). We can only hope that Russian football confusion delays the deal beyond the deadline for him to start against us.

I think you need to get out more, judging by the first par.

Zigic has been watched by everyone but seems to be causing a lot of interest at Rovers right now.

Andrews is more expensive than expected, that is why it was held up, but after close scrutiny of the options - Castillo and Annan - it has gone back to him. I still think there is some reluctance by the money men to make this a 'star' signing. But you HAVE to back the manager.

Otherwise there is no point in him being there.

As a squad player I am sure that Andrews will offer more that Mokoena as a midfielder and therefore the squad is stronger. If Ince believes that he can bring something to the team then that is good enough for me.
