I would agree with you if :

a. Rovers had money to waste

b. Ince had a reputation for pulling off unlikely transfers

For me the reality - even if Hughes said he was after Andrews I would have severe doubts. The reality is that the Div 2 player of the year was on the transfer list for a number of weeks - and nobody else bid for him. Which means he is either over priced or not that good (possibly a mixture of the two).

I know people are saying "give Andrews a chance" but theres Only Ince who thinks hes good enough!

My mates a MK Dons fan and doesnt rate him too highly in their league! Show ambition! Come on Rovers!

ANDREWS - MK Dons are telling anyone who wants to listen that Andrews signs for Rovers on Monday for £2 million. This is from their chairman, who told people at Leicester on Saturday. It also fits with my info from Rovers that Andrews is Paul Ince's next priority. It HAS to be done soon. It is dragging on. We shall see if their chairman is right. I suspect he is.

ANNAN - Pleased to hear the kid did well tonight. For his sake. He HAS been asked over to Arsenal, not for a trial but a 'look' so that Arsene Wenger can see him in the flesh. The trouble is Arsenal are in Holland and Stabaek have a big game on Thursday. That's for the agents to sort out. The bottom line is that Arsenal now head the queue...because...

MIDFIELD TARGET - The manager is after a SECOND midfield player and it is not Annan. I know the name and who has been to watch him and who has also been asked about him. Until it moves to the next stage - that means a call to bring him in - I will NOT mention his name. You won't guess it. It IS obscure, but I believe it is also a good idea.

STRIKERS - Zigic obviously did not play on Saturday, so that one is still up in the air. Stoke have gone off it because it is too expensive. It's there to be done, but I'm not sure it will progress.

MAN CITY - Shinawatra has gone AWOL, his lackeys are trying to sell players and it's meltdown. The stuff about Corluka staying is not 100 per cent right. The player does not fancy Tottenham and his girlfriend likes Manchester where she is going to uni. They may persuade him to leave as they need the money. The Stephen Ireland story is hilarious...a club official told him not to play, Sparky found out and went ballistic. Oh dear. Never mind.

Read it properly! I said on midfielders. Fowler has never been a midfielder as far as I can remember?

Also a point on that - he hasnt signed yet either.

Obviously Fowler aint a midfielder! But i still cant believe he even considered Fowler to be good enough!

Also if you think Andrews is a positive move........fair play!I Dont! Just my opinion!

The midfielder is good. I'm saying no more than that.

I don't think this guy will come on trial.

Central midfield, passer, small...but that doesn't seem to be a problem.

Nicko - I get the impression that most of your info on Andrews is being generated from MK Dons (though you obviously have some contacts in the Rovers camp) - could this be the MK Dons chairman trying to up the price with Leicester ?

Have you heard anything from your contacts that make you believe that Andrews could be a success in the Premiership ?

So two central midfielders, and its likely that one of them is Andrews and the other not Annan...

I take it Sable and Bassye are going home and Fowler will be given more time until he does something that would be able to half convince the masses that he is worth the contract...

nicko what do you make of the Annan interview? It sounds like we're in the hotseat and it certainly doesn't sound like he's "in a huff with us" basically saying he hopes it goes through. Hawkiiz seems to be contradicting you on quite a lot of point and he seems to know what's what... your take?

No, the latest news is from the Leicester City boardroom.

I've only seen Andrews play a couple of times. My opinion of him does not matter.

Your manager wants to sign him.

Nicko can you see Hughes walking away from the job? Surely he cannot put up with not knowing about the future of his players, and if Frank pulls out they are in a right mess.

You have to laugh at such a stupid decision by Hughes to go there. :lol:
