i know there is not going to be a weeks loan our stories are so different it has to get a few laughs.

so what about the bid from spain then? have arsenal matched it? if rovers bid to get him on loan, what were they thinking? he is on loan already. why would they think start would rather send him abroad? of course rovers know that start really need money, and must have been total fools to believe they could get him on loan.

Our stories AREN'T different...that's the point.

Your info is good, you just miss the point that Rovers jilted the guy and he is now looking at the next step.

It's not a crime. The boy isn't going to say 'what a bunch of bams they are - letting me down like that.'

He WOULD say how well it went and 'maybe' they were watching me.

He HAS confirmed that Arsenal want him and he WOULD go there. He HAS kept the door open to Rovers because that is where he would rather play. But it's not going to happen.

Nicko, with exception to the info on Andrews, can we expect to see any other faces before the season starts? For example, a right midfielder or a clearing up of the benni situation?

this is from official sites, like Start and Stabæk. they do not lie. and norwegian press do not make things up. its not like the british press over here.

I must be going mad as I am sure Nicko has said that ANNAN is NOT going to Arsenal on loan - that is plain. He also said that Wenger wants to look at Annan in the flesh - nothing about a trial. I do not understand the difficulty of understanding what has been said.

I suggest that Wenger already knows about annan as a player - but is concerned about his size and wondering could he handle life in the prem - or could he grow any bigger.

Why try to pick holes or look for 'possible' wrong imformation from Nicko. This message board gets blocked up with 'nicko your wrong on this or your right there'. You either accept what has been said or don't and move on. If Nicko is right he will be shown to be so and the same if he is wrong.

i am not trying to pick holes. i am trying to help giving out the correct info. if i am wrong, who cares? i dont. if im right - great.

like nicko said i have a problem with the loan thingy. and the supposed spanish bid. i will accept it as soon as i have someone from Start to back it up. all i have been doing is post news from the Start and Stabæk sites + the main norwegian press. i know nothing more than what has been said publically.

You do a good job mate and most info is pretty close to the mark.. fair play it's your job as a sports journalist and we all appreciate your efforts here.. But maybe at times some of us wish you would leave out some of the evil stuff (and dont tell me you dont think some of your news won't cause a stir here....)

I hope so too mate.. And I agree.. and in many cases the protracted nature of this whole transfer window has driven most of us crazy and Nicko must be included in that.. 20+ posts on Andrews transfer is madness, number of replies break the search engine..

I'm sorry to say this, as a life long fan and - for the last few (for me at least) unforgettable months - employee, MCFC as we know it is finished. Here are the FACTS, for those who really want to know. Thaksin is, as of midlnight 10th August, 2008, an international fugitive.

He now has to be found guilty of corruption in Thailand in his absense, offering no defence. Extradition requests will surely follow. The PL will then have to find him short of the fit and proper ownership rules (and believe me, the pressure for that from fellow 'members' has been growing since June).

Thaksin is trying to palm off City onto whoever will now take it, an insolvent mess of a business, completely incapable of sustaining itself. The truth is that the only interested party (until recently) - Wardle - is not now able to bail City out now , he cant come close on his own and no partners have been found. The wage bioll and committments due on the last 2 years' transfers have spiralled out of control.

The Corluka affair is the last straw - I personally worked on the deal and can assure anyone interested that he has already been transferred to Spurs. Spurs have this evening started legal action, and he will be barred from playing for City following an injunction in the courts tomorrow.

Personally I expect Hughes to then resign on principal (he has no choice now, he is on record as saying that he will have final say on all transfers). Many wont believe any of this, but a few will.

I am very close to this situation (readers will never know who I am or how close - a few would know my name but it isnt appropriate to for me to come 'out') - trust me, I am close enough to know what has happeneded in the last fortnight, I am p*ssed off with it (as a fan, and as someone who has worked hard for the club durinig the ast 18 months or so) and it must be said, a little drunk.

ANDREWS - MK Dons are telling anyone who wants to listen that Andrews signs for Rovers on Monday for £2 million. This is from their chairman, who told people at Leicester on Saturday. It also fits with my info from Rovers that Andrews is Paul Ince's next priority. It HAS to be done soon. It is dragging on. We shall see if their chairman is right. I suspect he is.

That sounds like a "still nothing happening" to me.

If you turn out to be right, all due credit to you.

A few thoughts on the Andrews situation....

I'm not pro or anti Andrews - I'd like the manager to make the decision - that's what he's there for!

I remember us signing Nicky Marker, Nicky Reid, Mark Atkins etc. All were thought of as 'average players' and just 'squad members' at the time.

Marker did a great job for us, likewise Reid. Mark Atkins was a revelation. In our promotion year he was always there, with tackles, goals, great defending...what a great 'box to box' player he was. He almost single-handedly carried Rovers in the play off final - even winning a late penalty (which Newall missed) - which would have calmed all our nerves!

Nobody expected him to make the step up to the Premier league but he did. With style, goals and eventually a championship medal which he will be proud of. Rightly so, he stood in when we had injuries and suspensions and it was hard to leave him out in the end - check out how many games he played. Look back at the video of the championship season if you don't believe me.

What I'm saying is Andrews could be similar. Ince has obviously seen something there which we have not (most of us haven't seen him play anyway). Let's face it, he's played with and managed him, so he must have seen something. Would he put his first 'big job' on the line for an old team-mate? I think not! He obviously feels he can do a job for us...much like Atkins did a job for us in the championship season.

Give the guy a chance, he may just surprise some of you.
