who do you think have the better view of norwegian press. me or a paper from africa? (or wherever that one is from...)

My point was actually to nicko who said he was going to Arsenal to sign and not have a trial. That then changed to he's going for Wenger to have "a look" (this isn't Britain's Next Top Model so I never got that one anyway).

On the source, it is Ghanian and I would expect them to know quite a bit about one of their national players. If a Britich paper reports on Beckham I wouldn't dismiss it in favour of the New York Times would you?

Anyway, Annan's interview yesterday also implied that he was going to Arsenal for a trial and not to sign or "a look".

It is quite interesting though because we have 3 POV on this one,

1) He's going to Arsenal to sign (once Wenger's ensured he's "sexy" enough of course) which is nicko's angle.

2) He's going to Arsenal for a trial (seems to be the general press concensus)

3) He's not going to Arsenal at all becauce he can't which is Hawkiiz way of looking at it.

Nicko- Andrews turns 28 in a few weeks, I have heard that he has one year on his contract remaining, could he not buy out his contract under the new rules?, I doubt he is on more than £200K a year.

i just noticed that the article said "norwegian media reports..." which they dont really do. they say arsenal are interrested. but they are totally sure that rovers are the main force in all this. if you ask me taking into accound what nicko says, right now at this moment in time it does not look like annan will go anywhere

I completely disagree. There is no way we will be top 4, we have sold our main creative player (11 assists) and not replaced him. I also do not think that we will be in the bottom 6, we have to many goals to see us down there.

My personal opinion is that this season is a stabilising/transition period between old and new, 14th at worst and 7th at best.

I think we could easily be in the bottom 6, it all depends on how Robinson performs, Brad won us several games a season!

Regarding Ince, even if those comments were selected recently, I think that's just the way he talks. He is a football man with a good footballing brain and whether you like it or not, he doesn't spend hours pondering over what he has said to the media simply because he's not as eloquent as Hughes.

The comment regarding the first five games is something either me or you would say and although it is not necessarily confidence inspiring, it doesn't suggest a lack of confidence in the team.

In other news, lets just put up or shut up with this Andrews scenario, I can't help but be disappointed with the quality of target but if Ince likes him, then he should have him. Just get it done with ffs! :D

Nicko. Arsenal. Delays. Reading between the lines. It all adds up.

The last thing it does is add up!!!

Nicko said he went off in a "huff", a couple of days later he's singing our praises and saying he hopes the deal will go through. Nicko said he will be going to sign for Arsenal, every other press outlet says it's a trial, his boss says no trails will be offered.

I don't know what's going on but I won't berrate Ince like a lot of people did on here when nicko first broke the "loan offer and huff" story.

Anyone know what kind of budget we are working with? When selling Bentley I would expect the club to look for quality players in the £5m - £8m range, but it seems like we are still going on about less talented players in the bargain basement.

I realise you feel a bit foolish after accusing me of lying over Friedel, Robinson and Bentley - and getting the 'two loan players' rule thing totally wrong.

So maybe while the Annan and Andrews affairs are being settled it might be best just to keep your head down a bit.

Nicko do you still expect a deal to go through for Andrews today and any headway on the midfielder target? Any moves being made? And how far have we gone for our interest in Zigic?

MK Dons think so. I can't be bothered to check. If he signs today, he signs. I've written it a few times and have nothing to add until he joins.

I'm saving the other midfield player until it goes to the next level...an approach.

Stoke have just called off their Zigic search...don't know why. Probably too expensive.

There you go again. You need to chill out a bit. Being mistaken and lying are poles apart but you seem to interpret them as one and the same.
