Ewood and I Would Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 you really are getting quite tiresome! you only seem to be interested in winding people up. i'm all for people having the right to voice/ post their opinions on any subject, but your posts have little or no substance. (sigh). I was merely pointing out that RSC has played for three clubs. If you check blue'n white's response he took it in the spirit it was meant. Shame not everyone can....
Majiball Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 Nicko, I believe given that the mystery man you have said we are considering, is obsucre could you mean by that he's not played over the last season or so, in dispute with his club, you also said he had a good CV, we also watched the Valencia game the other day. can I throw david Albeda's name out, he is a sitter.
TrentVilla Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 do i understand you correctly, suggesting rovers agreed a contract with pedersen that if we for any reason do not enter europe, he can go? get sober please. thats a contract man utd could have agreed on. not a club like rovers who really rreally struggle to get a sniff at europe. I'm not suggesting anything. I asked for opinions on a rumour that is going around, its not my rumour or opinion. No need for me to get sober but thanks for the life advice nonetheless.

novella Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 dont villa tend to play young on the left anyway.
1864roverite Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 Again from the same person regarding Rovers interest in Pennant. Rovers currently haggling over the payment terms apparently a fee is agreed and the players terms all agreed. Nicko, any truth in this info. its froma well respected member of YNWA Liverpool website.
alexanders Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 Annan and Pennant, both will sign this week.
Cally Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 well respected member of YNWA Liverpool website. Not sure there is such a thing Seriously though, if it's Elisha then it's pretty much spot on info.
Mozzer Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 Annan and Pennant, both will sign this week. hopefully..

Nicko, any truth in this info. its froma well respected member of YNWA Liverpool website. any idea what so ever what the price will end on? 3? 4? 5? 6? 7? region? i think nicko said once that rovers and pool are miles apart regarding the fee?
Fylde Coast Fan Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 dont villa tend to play young on the left anyway. I was thinking the same. Ashley Young or Pedersen is no contest really.
hawkiiz Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 Annan and Pennant, both will sign this week. will find out within 24 hours on annan dont you think?
vintageadidas Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 Very dissapointing transfer window thus far. Big let down not just from our point of view but the whole league. What is with all the negative Gamst comments. Fair enough he has played pretty poor lately but he has made Steven Warnock look better than he is with some superb covering. He also has a great engine and lets face it, he does score the odd goal. He can still deliver a decent set piece and the odd corner.......i cannot see a better replacement.....also, he was loyal to us when he could have moved on so we should give him another season of full support.
Fife Rover Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 No, it's called telling it like it is. I have said all the way through that I cant see any Villa move for Roque succeeding. However Villa have every right to try. If you knew how this story came out you would know why I believe it has legs. Brad Friedel been having a little chat with MoN?
Al Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 Strange how a few weeks ago we were saying 'No no no no' to Pennant. Now we are so desperate that some posters are praying that we sign him.

alexanders Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 will find out within 24 hours on annan dont you think? NOt regarding Annan. I think Blackburn are using their time to push the price down. Strange how a few weeks ago we were saying 'No no no no' to Pennant. Now we are so desperate that some posters are praying that we sign him. I've been in favour for this since the beginning. He has: -Pace -Technical abilities - Work Ethic - Great Shot Together with Pedersen we will have to different wingers, one who is able to attack and try to get round his defender and the other one making the good crosses. We would have the opportunity to make them swift and change sides which will make troubles for the defenses.
Fife Rover Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 So all trophies before 1992 are null and void? I meant in terms of expectations, etc. He lacks the self belief to really make his mark at a club that is expected to challenge for trophies. Just seems a bit overawed by it all. It's difficult to word it properly without sounding obnoxious. I think I know what you mean Cally; his confidence has been shot away. Probably down to Rafa's rotation policy that hardly ever gets round to Pennant's turn for a game.
FeedTheHare Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 “There’s always going to be speculation about players, but I can categorically say, 100 per cent, that nobody will be leaving this club.” Paul Ince Now can we stop all this silly talk about Roque? Just like Brad Friedel...?
Cally Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 That info about Pennant sounds like bollcoks. I think he got it from another website where some guy claims to be Pennants mate. He's an head-the-ball and makes it all up. Oh well.
hawkiiz Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 NOt regarding Annan. I think Blackburn are using their time to push the price down. im not sure. he will play in the uefa-cup this week, and if he does a good job there, that wont harm his value. its a gamble. i hope if ince want the kid, they wont be stopped by the price. it is not THAT high anyway. maybe it all depends on the price on any possible RW or exciting MC. cant wait for this window to close. im getting sick from the draught.
Roar of the Rover Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 Just like Brad Friedel...? He said this AFTER the departure of Friedel and Bentley. Keep up.
1864roverite Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 I've just had a look on there and can't see any new posts abut Pennant. Did you see them today? Cally I havent spoken to this person or read anything from their website. Its come from a big lfc fan who visits my fther in law, a fellow lfc supporter. he has been and has told him about the situation and that he has been told by someone associated with that site who is involved in the running of it. I only know that whilst away on holiday Rovers were linked and I wasnt here when he gave my f-i- l the information

I completely agree about Pedersen. Who else in the squad will be our set piece taker now that Bentley's gone? I remember the dark days when we seemed to be awful at corners and freekicks. Alright, I know that the set pieces weren't sterling over the last 3 seasons or so but at least there was some hope that we might cause some damage at set pieces. Before Pedersen came along we were Godawful at them, anyone remember those times? It's obviously not only the set piece threat reason for keeping Pedersen - he brings in quite a lot of support from Norway and he works his knackers off, regardless if he's playing well or not. I'm also of the belief that Pedersen will be much improved this year now that we don't have to focus all our play towards Bentley. I just don't understand why some people seem to have it in for him. Over the last season or so, the detractors on here blamed him for not playing well, but I also think the management has to apportion osme of the blame too. They should be the ones to drop him if he's not up to par. Having said that, I just don't think we have anyone to really push him on at the club. He does need some competition and if that happens, I think Pedersen will really spring to life.
