There were a couple of daft rumours kicking about today - I checked them and found they were wrong.

But I suspect at least one paper has fallen for them.

We shall see in the morning.

As I think both are wrong I'm not going to start any balls rolling here.

Great little player who came on in a cameo role for Spain during Euro 2008. Could he be the obscure small tidy midfielder Nicko is referring to? I would personally love it!

Oh right, i've heard of a footballer called Santi but wasnt sure if it was the same guy or not. He must be pretty decent if he got picked for the Spanish team...saying that Phil Neville has over 50 England caps so I guess that doesn't count for much these days!

Can't see how a player who featured for the winners in the European Championship less then two months ago can be called "obscure". Despite the fact that, IIRC, he was a bit of a surprise inclusion. I'd love it if it was true, but I'd have thought obscure meant something slighly further off radar than a Spanish international.

I've just been reading about him and I can't honestly see us going for someone like him. I believe he'll be either happy at his current club or wont come on a trial

Seriously though, it is just a rumour that my mate told me so it isn't anything worth getting excited about but it would be interesting if it was true because it shows the standard of player Ince is looking at especially when we've been linked with a crocked striker and a league 2 hero in the past month or so.

obscure in relation to being uttered in the same sentence as blackburn rovers maybe? eg. "my mate who's granny pours cups of tea in ewood parl saw this guy who she recognised as being a bit-part player in the spanish team that won the euros couple of months back walking about the place with paul ince" kinda obscure....
