Maybe John Williams is abroad brokering deals at the moment and doing his communication with the clubs etc where we may be getting players in.

I agree that it is a worrying time at the moment, but only due to the fact that we have no faith in Ince as he has not earned the fans trust yet, or the team haven`t played in the league yet and done well, or lost too many.

We need midfield players, remember that ince played with some of the best of his time at Liverpool and Man United, I`m sure he knows what quality he wants to bring in.

I`m sure that Ince would not risk his reputation, at such a sensitive time, by purchasing Andrews as a fisrt team playey, if he didn`t have the quality to produce. Do we even know how he plays, have any of us seen him in Action ? I know that Ince has, and knows his style of play and his strenghts - if we sign him, and it works out, then you will all be singing his praises.

I`m worried about all the unrest, or reported unrest, the same is going on at City at the moment - the media see a weakness and exploit it, so believe all that you hear. Not long ago, Stevey Warnock was saying he was going to enjoy the tiem and was looking forwad to fresh faces coming in ! we have two of those already and 18 days left as the transfer window ramps up.

At least from Ince`s comments, he is unwilling to spend money unless he is sure of the value of the quality he is purchasing, for a club like Rovers, that is a great attitude and one I respect - we would only judge him badly if he made a mistake and paid over the odds.

Incey, needs results to turn the fans round and gain confidence and trust from them in his choices and management of the team - we are not there yet, so give him some breathing space before pre-empting and pre-judging and believing everything you read is set in stone !

Got to take the same view as den on this one, something seems very wrong at the club. The worse thing about it is the deafening silence from within the walls at Ewood.

I am asking myself why JW is not in the media, he is a good communicator and we have always seen him making comments when the going gets tough around Ewood Park. At this moment he is invisible.

I am also wondering whether or not there are thoughts of have they (the board) made a serious misjudgement in employing Paul Ince as manager of a well established premiership club. With hughes at the ehlm the club clearly had direction although I would say that since January the goodship Ewood was well and truly off course for a while. Now with Ince, it seems there is unparalelled mayhem at the club, something akin to the sad reign of Brian Kidd.

I expected to lose Bentley and have no problem with his sale. I didnt expect to see Brad leave in a million years. Now all we hear is Nelsen kicking off, Warnock asking for a transfer and wanting to go to Newcastle, RSC wanting to go to City (Only God knows why), Benni wanting out to Sunderland of all places and Ince making a mayhem in the incoming transfer market by searching the lower legaues instead of signing the likes of Annan who clearly wants to play for the club ! I havent even mentioned the Samba affair, not selling The Axe to Stoke or the joke training and mutiny !!

So, what are we to believe ? Are we falling apart at the seems ? Is the dream over ? Is the club preparing itself for lower league football ? Have we seen the end of Premiership football at Ewood ? Are we Derby in disguise ?

So many questions and so few answers.

Hughes leaves and the club is ripped apart, the heart and soul has disappeared, the teamwork ethic doesnt appear to be the same.

I am confused. The season is only 3 days away and the pundits, bless their cotton socks, put us in the same sentence as Bolton of all teams as being the two options for the 3rd relegation spot.

its all going horribly wrong :unsure:

As for leaks and strange times...there have been many down the years but nothing quite as frantic as this.

I am a long time seaon ticket holder but passive viewer of this board. However, we are now at the point where someone has to show some real leadership at the club and get a grip. How the senior management of the club deals with the pressing issues of retention and recruitment over the next week or so, will determine how the the seaon pans out and where we will be playing next year.

Failure to get a grip now could result in us going into meltdown.

Nicko, the Mail is usually wide off the mark but is this correct, always rated him as a decent defender....

Ince is believed to be ready to listen to offers for Georgian defender Zurab Khizanishvili.

What a bloody shambles. Enough. I've tried to find the positive in all this all summer but honestly what on Earth is going on?

Bentley and Brad leave. Fair enough with Bentley but Brad was a big surprise - despite the alleged reports that he handed his request in a day after Hughes left.

We bring a manager in from Division 2 with no experience of managing Premier League players and no UEFA badges.

We surround him with several coaches and fitness coaches - with no UEFA badges.

We hire a keeper coach.

New keeper coach leaves days after we get a new keeper.

We sign a relatively unknown player after watching him on YouTube.

There are more "leaks" now than for many years as to player unrest.

Warnock wants out now - who is next?

ThAxe at Centre Half?

Get rid of Zurab? (but but but - No One Is Leaving).

Reid at right back?

Emerton at right wing?

Fowler?

Keith Andrews?

Funds? £15m for Bentley, £10m existing "War Chest" (as reported in March/April), £5m compo for The Welsh, £3m from The Trust.

But £2m is a bit steep for Andrews.

We've spent approx £1m this summer? (exc wages of course).

3 in - 2 on loan - and 5 out.

Annan is "great" but we're really not sure after all.

We sign Roque Sante Cruz's kid brother. Presumably to keep Roque happy.

Every two bit club in the Prem is linked with our players all summer and we do next to nothing in the "bullish" stakes to quell the rumour machine until yesterday.

We lose to Sporting Lisbon, Wolves, Hoffenheim and Blackpool pre-season.

However, it's not all bad, I'm actually reasonably pleased with the Robinson signing and we have a nice shop. Oh and a lovely Multi Faith Room - but that will probably smell of wee.

Like I said - a bloody shambles.

Andrews wants to join Rovers but won't at that fee which is why he is unhappy.

As for leaks and strange times...there have been many down the years but nothing quite as frantic as this.

It was quite calm under Sparky, lively, often comical and never dull with Souey - a great and very real man in my view - as well, Hodgson had his problems with the odd player, Harford was liked but then walked over by some real big-time charlies and Kenny's day was the last time almost so much happened in such a short space of time.

Is that a good sign? Who knows?

Nicko can I ask..

given your comments over the last few weeks (Not all at blackburn singing from the same hymn sheet, Numerous leaks, Players wanting to go, JW backing Annan and Ince not).. Two potential signing ending up feeling a lack of respect by blackburn.. rumours of discontent in general... lack of announcements from JW quelling any unrest... and the slowly becoming obvious lack of funds..

Do you believe like many of us are starting to.. that the board does not trust in the decisions that Ince is making (especially in comparison to Hughes)?

I really feel that the rest of the premier league are acting like vultures.. you dont see those suckers knocking around unless something is dieing.. and all this is starting to worry many of us..

I think I said a few weeks ago that this was a vital time for the club - players in, players out, new manager making signings at a level he has never been at before.

This is a test all right.

However a ball has not been kicked in anger and we don't know who they will sign in the coming weeks.

There are an awful lot of sides in bigger trouble than you.

As I see it Rovers have two major assets here:

1 - Plenty of money to spend.

2 - A new manager who will have the chance to build a team.

The fate of this season will probably be decided in the next few weeks. Signings always had to be made, now it may be more than first imagined.

It's a bit crazy just now. But football can be like that and then settle down.

That's why we love it.

Tonight's 11 o'clocker will be good...and sponsored by Fred Done who is 470 quid lighter for the results of Leeds, Cardiff, Burnley and Crewe this evening.

Deep joy.

Me too Le Chuck. I'm not posting again until Saturday. Remind me if I falter.

Add me in that.. well from tomorrow morning.. I have gone too far from supporting Ince to being scared and the season has not even started..

I am adding to many negative comments of late.. snowball effect and not much good news I guess..

Bob on Nicko, I wouldn't be surprised if we were 5th at the end of September.

Equally, I wouldn't be surprised if we were 19th and had a caretaker manager (Christ! who would that be now!!!)

Ince needs to learn from the mistakes made by Woy (and maybe Jim Iley a few years before) and get the senior pro's on his side and hopefully they will bring the doubters along with them.

1 - Plenty of money to spend.

But do we Nicko? Could it be possible we don't have anywhere near the budget one assume we should have? Has the Bentley money disappeared?

I know there is still time until the closing of the window, but we haven't exactly been linked to any bigish name signings, ones you would expect with the cash we 'supposedly' have.

We may have £20 million plus and we are just taking our time and evaluating the options, but until I start to see us linked to some of these players or start making some serious moves I can't help but feel we are skint.

:) Grrr thats a journalist response lol.. answer but dont answer the question actual question... :P

Do you believe the board are backing Ince?

Given your comments.. and others like... "But the board have to back the manager".. I have a feeling you dont believe he has the backing, but you can't say as you don't have proof or you feel it would cause open warfare here..

And what do you mean by "now it may be more than first imagined.", please tell me more are not leaving.. we have 3 days to go?

That's my worry as well, I have this horrible suspicion at the back of my mind that the Trustees are salting away money to reduce the debt to make a sale more attractive to potential purchasers.

However say that isn't the case and we have 20m (ish) available.

What if (say) Spurs want 8m for Lennon and Liverpool want 6m for Pennant. What if we think this is too much?

Do we grin and bear it and stump up, or hold our nerve and try to wait for a better opportunity?
