RevidgeBlue Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 WARNOCK - As stated before, wants out but Newcastle are only talking #4.5 million. It will take more. REPLACEMENT - Paul Konchesky at Fulham is the name being pursued. I hoped it was for cover. Good night. Thanks nicko. Warnock - surely they'd have to nearly double that before we'd even consider it. Konchesky - yuck.

Brownie Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 Konch is a very decent player. Is he a regular starter at Fulham ?
ffan Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 Thanks nicko. Warnock - surely they'd have to nearly double that before we'd even consider it. Konchesky - yuck. Konchesky is decent, well he was last season. Been poor in pre season though.
steverovers Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 I think all this talk of the trustees holding money back is just the old nerves. JW has run this club very well over the past few years. So he doesnt want to pay an extra million for a 2nd division player. That doesnt mean that we dont have money to spend. A million pounds is a lot of money, does anyone have any idea how many extra season tickets we'd need to sell to cover that? Back the manager, get the player in but do it on our terms. We are one of the best run clubs in the league, there's no point throwing all the hard work away in a panic now. Plus if the season start badly we'll need cash to back the manager in January even if it's not Ince by then. Absolutely spot on!
ffan Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 Is he a regular starter at Fulham ? Yeah.... but only because he is our only left back But seriously he is decent enough.
thenodrog Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 Sorry that the pound signs aren't working. Dropped the laptop earlier. I saw a great laptop in Currys the other day. Just £469.99.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 I quite like Konchesky. Obviously i'd rather him be a back up than our primary left back but he isn't a bad player. Didn't he publicly criticise Curbishley saying that they didn't agree with how he did things? Surely he shouldn't be coming to our club if that's the case!
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 Yeah.... but only because he is our only left back But seriously he is decent enough. How much would you rate him at? Also, could you see him settling for a bench role at Rovers over a starting place at Fulham?
Veevs Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 That's why we love it. Tonight's 11 o'clocker will be good... No we dont love it and why the monkeys did you say it would be good.. praying now for a good one at 11pm.. lol
LDRover Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 Christ what a downer. It's all well and good to talk of giving the manager a chance and saying wait for the season blah blah blah but when people who I consider to be rational thinkers are posting negative stuff on here there has to be a serious problem. Can't think of anything positive at all, it's all very worrying.
Roar of the Rover Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 How i'm gonna boo that t!t John Terry for missing that penalty. If he scored Avram would've stayed, Sparkys head wouldn't have been turned. We'd have £5million less right now but at least a new season to look forward to. The game on saturday is a MUST MUST MUST win now for Ince. Draw is the minimum requirement. Can Fowler still play on Saturday if he is still on trial?
Hasta Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 The game on saturday is a MUST MUST MUST win now for Ince. Draw is the minimum requirement. Run that by us again Roar.
ffan Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 How much would you rate him at? Also, could you see him settling for a bench role at Rovers over a starting place at Fulham? Around 4 million, 5 million in my dreams. He is decent. has a lot of pace and covers well. Distribution is ok. Defends well enough. As for the second question money talks so i don't know.
JAL Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 ANDREWS - As you know, the valuations are still apart. ANNAN - Racing Santander have offered #2 million on or so...biggest bid yet. Arsenal still want him but don't want hyim to play on Thursday. I don't know of a Rovers bid...yet. WARNOCK - As stated before, wants out but Newcastle are only talking #4.5 million. It will take more. REPLACEMENT - Paul Konchesky at Fulham is the name being pursued. I hoped it was for cover. FOWLER - D-Day on Thursday I believe. I think he will get a deal. PENNANT - No nearer, but I have a feeling that one could happen just to 'raise spirits.' Sorry that the pound signs aren't working. Dropped the laptop earlier. MONEY - Yes, there is plenty. And not many can say that. Good night. What a nightmare, an absolute nightmare, the clotted cream heads will be saying 'give Ince time we havent kicked a ball yet' judging by the quality of the players Ince is looking at we aint going to see much of the ball at all during games.
67splitscreen Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 No the only good news was the last two words. Good Night.
AlanK Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 Nicko, will there be an early 11 o`clocker tomorrow night? Will someone else not named Nicko answer this question like they answer most of Nicko`s other questions. There`s only one Nicko you know. God I`ve been hanging in there trying to be positive but the news just gets worse. Cough on his chesky as full back or whatever his name is!?!
Torgeir Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 Konchesky!? What utter filth this summer has turned out to be. Are we failing to attract better names or are we just looking to replace our better players with mediocrity to balance out the books and stay in the top 17? Andrews... Konchesky... Mokoena as central defender - someone's having a laugh.
RibbleValleyRover Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 Haven't seen much of Konchesky for quite a while, but from i remember he aint in the same league as Warnock.

Hi Mack Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 Haven't seen much of Konchesky for quite a while, but from i remember he aint in the same league as Warnock. He might not be next season! Im getting depressed! Kenneth?
Torgeir Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 What is everyones problem with konchesky?!?! Compared to what we have (Warnock) he's a poor player. If we had no decent left back I wouldn't be whinging.
steverovers Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 Ince out? Now, that is pathetic...truly pathetic!
Hi Mack Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 Now, that is pathetic...truly pathetic! Now thats a joke, truely a joke!
Zulu Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 it seems that there are a load of clubs that appear to be in a spot of trouble at the moment. Everton (possible trouble ahead) Man City (good chance they are screwed) Arsenal (not too much trouble but lost a few of their decent players). Personally cant see the 3 promoted teams being much kop. Bolton havent really improved their squad. Newcastle havent really sorted any of their defensive problems out. tougher teams this season will be villa, spurs and boro. Boro are gonna surprise a few this season IMO. i think my point is heads up lads. with our current squad we can beat the lot of them. I think you'll find that we have.
