I'm sure many fans aren't expecting a win against Everton at Goodison, a draw would in my opinion be a great result.

Its the game after we need to win in my opinion against Hull especially as its at home.

On the Warnock pricetag, i think £5 million is a bit cheap for a decent left back thats been part of an England squad recently.

Funnily enough, Everton away may be easier than Hull at home.

I don't think Everton will get any signings now.

Their punters will be seething...survive the first half and you win.

Nicko, how would you rate our chances of keeping hold of Warnock? Is it in the balance meaning it could go either way?

Nicko, have you heard any information on Villaneuva? I recall reading something a couple of days ago that said Ince was hopeful he might play a part in the game against Everton. Just wondering if you had heard anything since then that might indiciate if he is fit enough to play a part.

I'm not expecting a start, but bringing him on as a sub for a game or two might help him adapt to the league easier.

I heard there was a full-scale practice match organised for tomorrow...we should have a better idea then if King Carlos is ready.

Don't ask me why but I have this picture of him hitting a 25-yard winner at the weekend.

What's the price of that happening? Because I am on it.

The majority of people on here think a draw would be a brilliant result me being one of them. Everton like us have sold of a couple of players but not their key ones that's the different. I do agree though maybe some of the Everton fans may get a bit frusturated if Everton don't get ahead but after all it's only the first game of the season.

Automatically asuming we are going to lose is a good mind set to have though. That way anything we do pick up is a bonus.

All Everton's players fully fit ?(already heard Pieneer is out)

I'll give you £100 if thats the case Nicko.

Do you know what figure Rovers are holding out for like Bentley, we wanted £17million and we should hoefully get that much after the add ons are paid.

Not sure...but I think 5 million would make it happen.

I will back Villanueva for last goal if he is on the team sheet.

That is a promise.

Everton still have a decent team from last season who know how to play together.

Rovers however have a new Goalkeeper, and a central defender who is our captain, that will not have trained with him much, never mind played a game with him. I'm thinking he will play if he has returned from the Olympics for the start of the season.

We might not have our left-back and Bert on the right wing.

You normally call these things right, so hopefully it's another one.

My money is on Everton though.

So Nicko, If the big IF happens, after PI statement yesterday his creditability is shot, no matter what the price is.

I honestly cannot see any way he could survive if it happens.

What's your friend keep calling him a liar, Hum :o

I can understand Paul Ince's defiance.

It is a stance.

However Warnock wants away and Newcastle will have to pay the asking price.

Taking stances is understandable, but in the long term you also have to find players who will come in and want to play for you.

I have never golated about the manager's remarks re Friedel, Robinson and Bentley...those were also 'stances.'

However the bottom line is the team you get on the park and the results you get.

Words, ultimately, mean nothing.

Ok taking a step back to recap the events so far and the news to date from Nicko, JW and Ince...

Yes this may be one massive negative post from a rovers fan in a state of panic.. and until today I backed Ince

Days to season start:

3

Days Ince has been in charge:

50

Three of the top five players last season:

Warnock - Wants to leave

Brad - Gone

Bentley - Gone and already showing signs he will rock at the spuds

Our signed players:

Simpson - If he does well at rovers he returns to Manu, so long term benefit in the plan of the Ince is Zero

Robinson - Best available replacement at the price IF he can regain form (and pre-season reviews and loss of Coach dont bode well)

Carlos - Great on youtube but unproven in EPL and from one of the poorest leagues in the world, and wanted by no one else

Cashflow this summer:

- 1m for keeper

+ 7m for Bentley

+ 3m from Trustees

+ unknown on wages

+ 10m Transfter kitty

+ 5m from Hughes leaving

Apparent money available:

roughly 20m

Positions Ince/JW/Fans wanted to improve upon:

RB (Ince): We got a kid on loan from ManU

Def Mid (JW): Not signed

CM (Box to box have been obvious targets): Not signed but Ince fancies Andrews apparently

Comments from Nicko:

"Not everyone at blackburn singing from same hymn sheet"

"Warnock wants to leave"

"Board have to back the manager"

and endless others..

No comments in regards to unrest in the camp

Wont answer questions about boards backing of ince

No comments in regards to a certain players ability bar he does not know (yet seems to know some damn obscure players)

The players we have been linked too:

Annan - Highly rated player available on the cheap - ince does not know if he wants him

Zigic - Only other team who want him are Stoke.. and another 6ft forward

Castillio - regular international - Ince did not like him

Sable - Not good enough apparently

Konchesky - 2 games for england over three seasons ago.. reputation has decreased since.. apparently great at making other players unhappy (just what we need).. apparently the ideal replacement for Warnock if he goes

Andrews - Ince loves him but failed at championship level.. and not even that rated by his own supporters

Fowler - Probably soon to sign - OMG is all I can say especially given the number of pre-season games he has landed, unless he really can improve the kids we have (but should that not be as a coach) wth we doing

Pennant - But at what price.. and is he worth it?

Someone name another player you would be excited to sign that we have been properly linked with..

Players linked to other clubs:

The vultures are circling.. it should be name those who are not?

Known information:

Funds have either gone or Ince who says he needs to sign players is not willing to take a risk (except on people he knows, so OAPs and 1st div players)

And finally the people who dont want to loose money:

Odds on Ince being first manager to be sacked halved to being third favourite (remember Rovers have given all managers a chance so that says allot)

Odds on blackburn being relegated doubled

Odds on blackburn finishing in the top ten increased by 30%

In all the bookies are scared of us and EPL fans will only back us loosing

Thank goodness RSC is a damn fine chap or i would be betting on us being relegated now..

sorry for the negative post.. but I have to see at least one player signed... and they are now going to have no time with the team..

Edit My joy this pre-season has been at least we are not the only ones in the poo

Edit2 putting things in the right order

For those of you who say Newcastle need to raise funds for buys, that is not true. Recent interview with Mike Ashley confirmed that the money is available for any signing that Keegan wants, but he stated that they would be paying over the odds for anyone. Keegan decides what is over the odds.

Results may quell the storm, for now, which may give him the time he needs (31st Aug).

When you are in the know Ok, but the guy on the terraces is not as well informed as some.

They will just see it as a another big sham.

If something pretty big dose not happen before the Hull game, the gallows could be out at Ewood.

Final thought.

How can that fool Scudamore talk about fit and proper people tests at Man City?

This idiot allowed the SAME people to run rings round him at West Ham when they signed Tevez and Mascherano and lied to him...

Paul Aldridge is now at City and was at West Ham...Kia Joorabchian now does their negotiating...

And we are to expect that this muppet Scudamore can decide on such an important issue?

When it comes to Scudamore I am with Dave Whelan.

Nicko, is there a latest on RSC? Cheers.

Not at this stage.

Just a quick thought...

Based on past experiences JW has been very astute with the transfer market and knowing when the time is right to invest. This was evident with the last Rovers spending spree which occured just before the latest price inflation.

Its also worth noting when we looked in serious trouble at Christmas time JW gave Souness the money to buy our salvation in the form on Andy Cole.

Therefore there might be some logic in waiting out this summer as there is clearly not a great deal of talent about and we have a manager who still needs time to assess what he already has. The chances of relegation this year are extremely slim given the dross that has come up and the other weaker teams in the league.

Perhaps JW has done his homework on the market once again, and which predictions for a very rocky 2009 we may be waiting it out until next summer when Ince knows exactly what he wants, there is even less money around and we're in an even better position to take advantage.

Just a thought.

It's not about 'being in the know' or whatever...

Results are all that matter.

You live or die by them.

Everything else is just a build up to that.
